Fantasy Premier League 20/21

Bitter sweet weekend in my private league.

I did take advantage of the free hit to gain some ground on my opponents but if I captained Lingard and picked Bamford I'd have gone top.

I sold TAA, but I really regret it. The fixtures are too good and he do not play international football so should be fresh to play all games.
Unlike Cancelo who I fear might suffer heavy rotation.

I might bring him back, but there are other interesting defensive options too. I think the only option as good as TAA for attacking potential is Alonso, Shaw, Cresswell, Dallas, Digne.
Getting a few of them might make sense instead.

Plus if Liverpool fail to get clean sheets and drop points I am happy and if they play 0-0 I am happy.

If they win 2-1 it is shit though.

There's every chance this is going to be my defence in a couple of weeks time. Should be fun

Yeah my plan was to bring in Shaw I think, but not sure if we will rotate or not.

Alonso would be fun for sure, but if he plays in CL and Chilwell league I am fecked.

Digne I will 100% get for that double and might captain him for it if it is a good second game.

I need another bench boost for mine this GW.

I've not used mine yet. I'm thinking this is the week.

Finished on 50 pts which isn't too bad I suppose.

Think it will be the opposite. Chilwell usually plays against the decent sides when they need a better defender, Alonso against the weaker sides when they need a better attacker. I don't mind him not playing in the harder games as I rotate the pack based on fixtures anyway

Well Alonso played in the CL so far. I think he is the first choice. Although against us and Liverpool he wanted speed I guess with Chilwell at least tuchel said that. Thus we need to predict how much speed the opponent got I guess?
I do not know Porto well, but do they have wingers with pace?
I can see Chilwell play vs City, but not sure which other game he might be better suited to start?

I think you can probably get this right if you could read how Tuchel tactically think about each game. I guess it is more complicated than just pace. Although it feels above my head so I am probably going with something more predictable.
Azpi could be that guy, but I still think he might get a rest in some games.

I originally thought I'd screwed up not having Martinez and instead having Mendy.

However, reading all the chat about uncertainty in their defence, he's the safest way in.

Also Villa have dropped off a cliff and Chelsea have become defensive beasts.

When is De Gea back? Got Shaw against Brighton, but not convinced Henderson will keep a clean sheet against them

Agree. I have Martinez but bringing Mendy in for Pope. Need double Chelsea defence I think and he'll also give me insurance for when Alonso rotated (another planned transfer)

Yeah I am really not sure what to do. I plan to make 2 defensive transfers in the future.

Targets Chelsea defender , TAA, Digne, Shaw. Two of these in.

I like Rudiger potentially as he looks fairly nailed, but Thiago Silva back and also Zouma around just make me feel he will get rotated.

I've got the "luxury" of the WC for GW30 and I've gone Rudiger with 3 at the back along with stalwarts Digne and Shaw.

My thinking is if he gets rotated I'll have Dias or Cresswell drop in.

It is Dias I am taking out. One of the main reason is I think Dias might get 45 minutes in some games and then taken off for a rest if City got a result.
He was off early vs Fulham although not that early lucky enough.

Keeping Cancelo is also risky, but I think he might play 90 minutes when he plays and hopefully stays on the bench otherwise. It is all just pure speculation though, but I think we will see KDB, Gundogan and Dias protected a bit more.

I think I got cover for rotation, but Dallas vs City for 31 do not feel amazing. Still Dallas could score potentially so might not be as bad as you fear which is 1 or 0 points.

I like your thinking. Its making me a tad uncomfortable trying to get into Pep's head however.

I've had Dallas the whole season until now so I'm reluctant to let him go, especially as he's more often than not pushed into midfield.

Yeah Cancelo can be off early as well. Thus it might be best to sell my City defenders.

The question is who goes first.

The player I want most is Shaw for attack and fun having a United attacking fullback.
Although Ole could rotate or sub him of early too. It feels like he wants to protect Shaw by not playing him as much as Maguire and AWB.

Still I do not think we will destroy teams that often so Shaw probably stays on to be fair.

We won't go into Ole and making subs, but i feel Shaw is one of the safer bets for 90 minutes.

I want to keep two City players up my sleeve including a defender, at least for the foreseeable. Once they get to within touching distance in the League I'll look to offload however.

I know Ole always make late subs though. So probably after 60 minutes so that could work out well since we also concede late goals as well.

Just he took off Rashford and Shaw vs Southampton since they are maybe in most need of rest from injury problems. Shaw playing for England is very annoying for us I think.

I just naturally speculate too much. In theory they can play both in europe and the league I think without much rest.

I am tempted with TAA since I can't see much rotation for him even if they are in Europe. Or a Wolves defender just for naildness and good fixtures.

Dias is the one who never gets rested in the league though.

Well I think the situation has changed with how dominant City are right now.
Although it is possible that Dias needs no rest. Just like Maguire for us.

Just he was taken off early last league game and that is the potential worry. They got Laporte and Stones now that can do the job for second half if needed.

The main reason for keeping Cancelo is for his attacking ability. Although it is annoying that Leeds game feel like the logical benching for him.

People always talk about Cancelo's attacking threat, but compare it to Stones & Dias

STONES 4 goals 0assist 122 points from 1620 mins 3scores of 10 or over
DIAS 1 goal 1 assist 127 points from 2393 mins 2 scores of 10 or over
CANCELO 1 goal 3 assists 122 points from 1946mins 2scores of 10 or over

Not a huge amount in it, phenomenal from Stones as he barely played for the first couple of months.

You could say that Cancelo's total points as good as matches the other two, and that's a decent shout, but I never buy into this huge attacking threat.

I just see there is potential for assists for Cancelo. I know he hasn't got that many returns, but he got a fairly advanced role.

His xG is similar to Shaw and TAA. Granted I think getting TAA and Shaw are uppgrades for nailedness and I might bring one of them in soon.

Shaw is critical.
Or has been!
Things change quickly in this game.

TAA is just so expensive.

Well playing the fixtures then I think TAA can be worth the money. Granted Liverpool have lost to Burnley and Fulham.
Shaw I just worry about rotation and the tricky fixtures, but he is still probably worth having.

We've not got many tricky fixtures left, and we only have the Europa. Plus we're still not a given for top 4. So just like with City, he's worth it until something is secured.

Well Leicester, Spurs, Liverpool are still hard although we might play more defensive in some of them.
Also Leeds are pretty decent in attack too and Brighton are not an easy game to win either.

Liverpool got us mainly and then Leeds and Arsenal who can be tricky.

I still think I am getting a Chelsea defender first since the next 3 are bloody good for them before it gets trickier.

32 looks sparse but Ben says will get filled up.

Yeah expectation is simply slotting the other games in midweek.

Leading my league i want things as standard as normal here on in!

Hopefully Southampton v Palace is added 32 rather than a Totty double.
And the doubles kick in very late.

Cancelo or Dias out I will spend the rest of the break thinking about that one.

It is trying to predict Peps plans and that feels above my head. Dias most nailed, but with the league won soon will he get reduced minutes? If City smash leeds first half is he the first to be off atfer KDB if he starts?
Cancelo already in and out the team, but probably starts in CL over the league. Cancelo higher ceiling, but has not really performed that great in attack.
Dias pretty decent for bonus as well.

Maybe I shall just take a -4 and sell them both. Azpi, Shaw, TAA in or two from those 3.

no point trying to guess Pep, it'll only lead to heart ache. Just have a good bench if you want City assets.

Well I am selling one of them so I need to figure out who is best to keep. It may not matter much since I am only keeping them for a few games.

My plan is to be without City fully for 33. I may have one left, but ideally they are all out by then.

Is it idiotic or smart to start triple Leeds (vs. SU) and to leave Gundogan and Dias on the bench (vs. Leicester)?

Looks like I'll be keeping Ward Prowse then.
And a 3 week warning to get shot of Dier and bring two other tott in

Why does this influence you keeping Ward Prowse? It's replacing the Palace game in 32 so on paper a worse fixture.

Remains to be seen when that Saints v Palace game will be rescheduled.
