Fantasy Premier League 20/21

69 for me from 10 players on the wildcard. Would have had only triple Villa, Kane and whatever players I bought with two free transfers and hits. I am happy with the decision to plan for the wildcard for now.

Close to halving my rank again this week: 52k to 28.2k. 17 green arrows in the last 21 gameweeks to climb slow and steady from 1.8m. It has been a proper grind this season.

With the triple captaincy still in the bank, I’d love to get a top 10k finish again, but need to see how GW30 pans out, which looks potentially high scoring for everyone, and GW31 too, which is when many others will wildcard as the fixtures turn.

Free hitting this week worked out far better than for those of us who did it in GW18.

What you doing with Watkins?

I really want Bamford for next week, but long term I think Ihenacho might be better. There is also DCL who I find interesting too.

Also that double vs Everton could come soon so selling him before that is not ideal. Although Man City game is probably a blank anyway.

Think it was Vardy in GW32 I had in mind but it's gonna have to be Iheanacho instead ASAP. Bamford would be good for next week but his fixtures turn horrible then I believe.

Edit: I see Leicester have City next so that won't be happening yet. Watkins for another week then :rolleyes:

I expect Everton and Villa to double in GW32 when there is a free midweek.
 
81 points with Dunk on my bench, went with Creswell instead, so could have gotten 87. Happy with my free hit.

51 from 9. I used no chip and made no transfers either so feel I managed the GW well in the end. Small green arrow too.

Going into 30 with 2 Free transfers which I haven't seen too many with either.

Just joshing. This was one of those rare weeks without teeth gnashing frustration.


Think i could scrape a tenner for 3rd in the manager of the month for March one league i'm in runs. On top of the 100 for a cup win (the narrow 4 point win ended up 18 in the end with the Trossard luck). Probably equals my 4 year money record!
Moved from 13th in March to 3rd, although i had a shock when still sat as 13th when i just checked. Tables still updating amazingly.

Bearing in mind Auba, Bale, Watkins and the defenders capable of big hauls like Dallas and Creswell blanked, there are some huge scores.
 
Had 2 transfers saved for this gameweek and forgot to update my team before deadline which meant I only had 6 players. Son was my captain and didn’t play but I got lucky having Lingard as my vc and had Bamford too. Ended up on 45 points from 5 players, a miracle I didn’t fall way behind my league leader who used free hit and only got 69!
 
50 from 8 players, which I’d have taken beforehand. Feel a bit robbed with all the injuries, especially in midfield, but my mini league rival didn’t play his free hit and scored similar, so no damage done.
 
Most safe defender with good clean sheet chances after next week?

Dias, Maguire, azpi, Evans?

I could go more aggressive with Cancelo, Shaw, Alonso, Pereira, but I do not want to risk 10 players.
Also Kabak is a no. Do not want a crap Pool defender in my team.

With no FH chip, didn't lose as much as I thought I would to most teams around me, though lost 2 places.

Tight for the top.8 who could all do it. Doubt anyone outside top 10 wins it (11th is a 60 point drop off) but less than 100 points from 10th to 1st.

Blank GW29 was a rollercoaster ride for me.

Started off 50 points ahead of my main rival.
Both had 10 player starting.

He took a 10 point lead as he had Raphinha and Veltman.
Then I clawed back down 0 because I had Antonio and Cresswell.
Then in a matter of seconds, Antonio missed an open net, got a yellow, lost his bonus point and Creswell got a yellow, so now the rival have 5 points advantage.
The in the final game, Traore gets subbed at 59 minutes, whereas my rival's Watkins gets 2 points so he ended up at +6 points.

Could have been worse but so frustrating to lose small points here and there that all added up. That Antonio miss keeps playing in my mind. :(
 
Just checked and it looks like tables are still updating?
Surprised to see i've jumped up from 22k to around 13.9k. So a bit sceptical until those tables are up to date!

I'd put Lingard in for JWP.
That would then be very similar to my team - although I don't have Digne and have Bamford instead of Watkins.
 
So lost 1k off my rank, Son being injured really screwed me. Now 110 points over nearest ML rival with 9 games to go. Have WC and TC left while he doesn't have anything now he used his FH last week. Planning on WC 31 is the best bet then wait for a DGW to TC?

Is Rudiger nailed to play this week?

Probably the safest bet yeah unless you get a gut feeling about someone one week. I'd wait for Spurs game v Saints to be rearranged and bang it on Kane (hopefully they are still competing for top 4).

Re: Rudiger. He's played every league game bar one since Tuchel came in but I still don't really know what their best team is.

Yeah I think Cancelo to Azpi makes sense. Although Cancelo got superior attacking ability.
Could do Dias out instead if it is suggested he might not be fully nailed now.

Now Rudiger for cheap might be ok, but Thiago Silva back potentially have my worried.

Never looked too much in detail, but this GW looks great for bench boost if people still have it.

I think Rudiger is in the best team, but he could still get rested for the league if they want to rotate.

I finished on 81 points in the end for a GW rank of 21,380. Only last minute change I made was switching captaincy to Kane. Really happy with that and made up some ground on my ML rivals.

apart from Tierney over Dallas I would probably gone for the same team. Shame I had no free hit. Maybe Maupay over Antonio and Martinez in goal. Also Veltman maybe and Dunk with no Trossard and took a punt on Son.
 
How do people feel about using Bench Boost GW30? As I plan to use WC after GW30, bench boosting can mean I can fill my bench with fodder and pump value into first team when I play the WC. My team looking like this for GW30 currently:

Martinez
Rudiger, Stones, Dallas
Bale, Son, Bruno, Gundogan
Antonio, Kane, Bamford

Subs: Forster (vs. Burnley), Struijk (vs. Sheff Utd), Creswell (vs. Wolves), Traore (vs. Fulham).

The bolded ones are the ones I worry are not 100% nailed.

So better to potentially use BB here or just hold on to it?
 
I was planning on bringing in a City attacker in GW31 for the home game vs Leeds but have just seen it's sandwiched between their CL quarter final. Would only really expect Aguero/Jesus to start maybe.

One last punt on Aguero for old times sake?

I'm tempted to use it, the fixtures look too good. I have the same issue with Forster as we don't know if he will play.

I just played around with a potential WC draft and to be honest, if I get the starting 11 I want, which includes the likes this:

Mendy
Alonso, Stones, Coady
Salah, Bruno, Son, Lingard
Bamford, DCL, Kane

I STILL have so much money left over, so can have a bench like this:

Forster, Rudiger, Struijk, Jota

Maybe It's better to have a playing bench and just hold on to BB until later?
