Falcao

Shame to see him go to Monaco but Im happy he is not moving to either Chelsea or City.

I am sure that we made a down payment for transfer info on the player. Naturally we would not get into a bidding war, but who the hell else would be interested in Falcao anyway? Sounds like a solid plan that on the off chance went wrong. Oh well.

Where the feck did Monaco come from? How many are these teams are there gonna be? :(

My guess, he'll do one year at Monaco. Who will have bought out his third party, before moving on to one of Europe's elite for another massive fee, to be paid to Monaco.

Yep, 1 year in the south of France earning a shitload, then off to Real in the summer.

feck you, dwight yorke, feck you for making me believe.

Monaco would have no reason at all to sell him and I doubt Falcao would be bothered about leaving much when he's being paid a feck load.

Except for the fact of the apparent "You can feck off to Real" clause in his contract?

It seems a bit like this:
United have the apparent first option but he wants to stay in Spain. Real will only pay X amount that United can probably match. Go to Monaco for a year "holiday" to get rid of that clause and also satisfy the third-party payoff and also earn Monaco massive publicity (which is what *they* get out of the deal). Then he'll go to Real next year and everyone will be happy.

If you read the article posted on the previous page, its pretty obvious Monaco will just be a stepping stone.

It will work for them for 2 reasons.

1: They get a world class striker for a season, helping to keep them in Ligue 1.

2: It brings big exposure to the world by dropping a bomb like this, and will show other players that if Falcao will go, so will they.

They can't really lose, If the chairman has the money to burn then why not?.

Falcao obviously wont stay there forever, but Atletico could not sell directly to real madrid, so this "stepping stone" is the transfer needed inbetween.

I read the reddit article and my reckoning was that if Monaco bought him from the third party and from Athletico he would be a Monaco player entirely?

So Madrid would end up having to buy him from Monaco?

EDIT: No, I think I am right but I just read the Ballague thing, skimmed over as I don't believe United would have a first option on him. If the Madrid clause is true then it most likely will be a stepping stone but if there isn't one then he has no reason to move?

I suspect there is a reason he wants to go to Monaco over and above United (if they're interested), City or Chelsea. If he wants to go to Real, then there is no way Atletico whould sell to them so this would be sensible for all parties.

Because Falcao does not HAVE to move to Monaco, this move will do for Monaco than it will Falcao.

They will surely have an agreement to let Falcao leave as soon as a big club will pay the money, otherwise this is just a massive killer step in his whole career.

Like in the article suggests this is all very Tevez to west ham.

How bizarre, thought it was a done deal to Monaco..

http://www1.skysports.com/football/...rid-s-Radamel-Falcao-rubbishes-Monaco-rumours

Radamel Falcao has dismissed speculation about his future and reiterated his commitment to Atletico Madrid.

The Colombian striker has been heavily linked with a move to French side Monaco, with Chelsea and Real Madrid also thought to be among the other clubs interested in his signature.

But the 27-year-old has rubbished such rumours and maintains he is firmly focused on his club, and their Copa del Rey final against city rivals Real Madrid on Friday.

"I don't know anything, and the only thing that I have in my mind and keep concentration is on Atletico Madrid," he is quoted as saying.

"I don't know anything. I keep myself apart of what is being said. If it was for the press, I have already been transferred to all the teams in Europe, like Chelsea, Real Madrid and Manchester United.

"I don't find true any news that is being said about me".

He added: "The only real thing is that I am under contract until 2016, all the rest is only speculation. I don't know anything about Monaco. I have my mind focused where I am."

Well he has the CDR final tomorrow so Im not surprised he has come out today and said this. I am pretty sure he is going to move this summer and Athletico will welcome the £35-45m they are going to get for him.

It would be wonderful for Spanish football if Atletico could convince him to stay. It would be against the odds, yes, but you never know.

Outstanding forward play for their first goal.

Whichever team snaps him up will get a massive boost.

Fantastic talent, his all round game is a bit underrated IMO and he works tirelessly off the ball, I really don't want to see him at another PL club.

Helluva assist

Seriously, where is he going? I'm pretty every week for 2 months now he is "100%" confirmed to go to : Chelsea one week, then City, then United, then Chelsea again, then Monaco, now City are definitely signing him! Could the papers please stop writing every week "he's definitely going to (Insert random big club here) this week". The funniest thing out of all of this is that he stays at Atletico, and transfer muppets from all those clubs listed die inside.

I think he's going to Monaco for a season or two and then eventually to a top club when it's a bit too late.

No, hes like Raul, does not need speed to score goals.

As long as he does not get any bad injuries he should keep his pace anyway.

Will be leaving Atletico Madrid at the end of the season, announced by the club apparently. No word where yet though.

EDIT: So it's just Balague saying it then? Best to wait for something official

Two destinations possible in my opinion - City or Monaco and I sure hope its the later.
