That's great and all, but 99% of tge 'anti-muppets' do want Cesc. Just that they knew we wouldn't get him.
I think it's just as likely that it isn't the 'done thing' to so openly admit that you are desperate to see it come off. we could be linked to all of the very best players in the world and many would like to appear unmoved, and even going as far as to chastise those who do not.
I do not consider myself a muppet, for instance, but I am an adult and not ashamed to admit that I desperately want United to sign a top, top midfield player this summer. I check updates regularly, look through twitter to see if I can find any seemingly credible information, and latch keenly onto well-sourced information that we may be interested in a top midfield player. I get the impression I have described the sort who is frowned upon by some of the 'better' posters, perhaps for acting like too much of a whore about it. The fact is, we, deep down, probably all wanted Thiago and/or Fabregas, but it's like, some of us are just not 'doing it right'. The correct model appears to be to come across as generally unmoved, or 'emotionally invested', and perhaps spend more time talking up our youth players instead and the fact that we, without any mystery additions every kicking a ball for us, have won trophies before. Fact is, we are a huge club, and I am personally not apologetic about saying 'nah, I don't really fancy that we, we should be going after that one' for example.
In all truth, the ones pointing fingers would be just as happy (whether they admit it or not) as those who are being open in their desire to improve the squad if we signed Thiago or Fabregas.
