If it was about a contract would he not be out in the press talking about how he feels unloved, maybe asking for more playing time, and insinuating that he might be open to a move. Players who want to force the issue and use interest from other clubs to their own gain generally don't get new contracts and pay rises by saying feck all.
Exactly. And a club like United wouldnt make 3 bids for a player that only looks to get an improved contract at his old club. I think this is pretty much on.
I don't think anyone with sense thinks this is about an improved contract plus I doubt Barca would give him one right now either. Like they say he's important but not top earner important.

Yeah, not exactly been confirmed and looking at the talk in the twitter thread, it isn't clear whether it is referring to a third bid or the second bid.
We've probably had more bids rejected in the past.....especially for Berbatov, probably had like 5-6 rejected for him.
Things are quiet and that has usually been a sign that we are making progress on our targets, keep the faith!!

You would expect there would have been a third bid by now. If Barca are keeping quiet about bids now then it might be a good sign ( or maybe they just want to ease Uniteds embarrassment).
I think the talk referred to the second bid - no other official bid from can be gathered.
The thought of Barca 'easing' our embarrassment is embarrassing..

I really like the tone of Martino in his last interview btw. Really changed quite a lot compared to not so long ago. Also Fabregas not willing to give interviews is also interesting. After Thiago I'm officially getting dragged into this again.
There's no reason for Fabregas to say anything. It's a win-win situation for him.
