lets prepare for mass muppet suicide...

Going to be quiet around here with all the muppet suicides. I hope Niall can keep things going with the vastly reduced traffic.

Woodward on the phone: "We'll give you 25 million for Fabregas!"
Barca: "I am sorry, we cannot accept that little. Even if we could, it would be complicated. Fabregas is important to us. We would have to discuss it. The situation with Arsenal is difficult."
Woodward: "I'll be on the next flight out of Sydney!"

*caf suicide*

, then Cesc agrees a deal with Arsenal and our fans go into muppet suicide.

And if we did land Fellaini, once we got over the Jim Jones style mass suicide here on the caf,

Imagine when it's all said and done, we just sign Fellaini and Osman or Baines

MASS SUICIDE

Is this starting to grate with anyone else?

He kissed the fecking badge lads, it's over. There's no labyrinthine plot afoot here. This is dead in the water and you're not going to get a more cast iron statement of intent than kissing the facking badge.

I wish people would stop being such muppets. Would you guys transfer to Juventus if you were employed by United? Given that United just won the league and all that.

I thought so too.

Just for you, bud.

If I was getting paid double? Yes I fecking would.

He didn't. Check the videos posted a page or two back.

@CheGiaevara Xavi Lemus from TV3 tried to interview Fàbregas on touchline after the match vs Santos and the player avoided them.

He's got enough opportunities to strike down the rumour, but for some reason he isn't willing to do so.

How many bodies are 'ready' again, after Thiago tossed them away like a used condom?

If Fabregas really wanted to quell all the speculation, then all he had to do was to go on his twitter account and remove all the doubts. I don't know what his intention is but it's clear that he's not exactly very happy at Barcelona.

Which at least gives some credence to the theory that Fábregas himself is not totally against this move.

He may be totally against it in principle but he's smart enough to know not to rule something out which may become a reality leaving himself in a poor situation with either Barca or with United.

FWIW I think it's more than that but that's the baseline.

I wonder if he has a little boy inside him?

I mean for the 6 years he was in England I was convinced he was a little girl, so it'll be quite a revelation.

The timing suggests to me he's after a new contract, considering the comments earlier in the summer. Maybe Busquets' renewal had made him want more?

Various people saying he's trying to get a new contract out of them. Various other people saying he's only been there 2 years. So why is he already after a new contract so soon after arriving? Alright, if he was a mainstay of the team & one of their very best players then I can see that the club may want to tie him down to a long term deal, but after 2 years?

It's obvious United have been getting positive signals from Fabregas all along. That could be because he is genuinely interested in United, or he is just playing up their interest to get more respect at Barca. United cannot know which it is, but nobody can blame them for pursing this transfer when the player himself has been leading them on.

What sort of "timing" do you think, specifically? Whenever any transfer saga happens, people talk about the timing of it and contracts but I don't really see how it makes sense in this case.

If he had been negotiating a new contract and these rumours popped up then it would make sense but as United have come in from no where and put in two bids, I can't really see how it can be down to Fabregas looking for a new contract.

Isn't he one of the lowest earners at Barcelona? The contract idea could be quite possible.

I found it hard to believe at the time but I actually remember hearing/reading that he took a payCUT to join Barcelona. That could be massively false by the way, just something I seem to remember...but that was 2 years ago.

Despite that with 3 years to run on whatever deal he has now, he can't expect a new deal now. Not a chance. He's not in the upcoming stars category, nor is he in the approaching end of the contract category so he surely can't pimp out his club for a new contract with 3 years to run.

Thiago is still at the club and he says he's happy amidst rumours we're interested, this was only in June. Thiago leaves and we start submitting bids and everything goes silent on his side.

If he wants more money, he should know we can match or even better the offer Barca might be willing to pay.

If getting more money and guaranteed more game time, of course.

Two things could have happened here...Cesc bullying for a more important role in the team post the attention from United. And Barca throwing the ball right back in his court by now almost making him come out say whether he wants to stay/leave.

I highly doubt he will leave, but this could get more interesting.

I don't think he needs more game time. Fábregas has made 79 starts in the last two seasons for Barca. Last season only Alves, Valdes and Messi made more starts and only Messi made more appearances. He might want more game time in his preferred position but then that could quite easily make him less likely to get a starting role for Spain in the WC.

I wouldn't hold my breath either, but this much I'm sure we and all the man-child online tough guys can agree on:

If United landed BOTH Ronaldo and Fabregas over the next few weeks it would be the most sensational piece of transfer business by any football club in the history of the universe. Imagine this:

De Gea
Rafael Rio/Evans Vidic Evra/Fabio
Zaha* Carrick Fabregas Ronaldo
Kagawa RvP

And in light of his new mates, Roo had a change of heart and decided he was no longer "angry and confused", the first XI would instantly be at an epic level, at least the equal of Bayern and Barcelona and the treble (maybe even the quad) would be ON!

That would be some team. I highly doubt anything of the sort will happen though.

I agree. I meant just to outline a reason why a player would consider leaving a title winning club.

Playing his preferred position and playing in the big games, I should think. I struggle to see why he'd want to move to be honest but then i know nothing of Cesc's situation at Barca or the inner workings of his mind. Obviously we've made two bids already and are yet to concede defeat... Cesc has not quashed the rumours and the new manager has left the ball in his court, there must be a reason for all these things.

I don't think we'll get him but would be delighted to be wrong... I hope we don't chase it late into the window and are left somewhat in the lurch with regards to an alternative... though I imagine Moyes and the team at United have thought about all of this and a million other permutations.

To be honest i'd love the football to start already and see what squad we have on the first day.

I read somewhere he is on 100k a week at Barca. How much more does he want? If he wants double of that, come the feck to United

More sensational than Ronaldo (the holding Ballon D'or winner of that time), Kaka (the last Ballon D'or winner before Ronaldo), Xabi Alonso and Benzema? Try again!

He took a pay cut from his Arsenal wages to join Barcelona. Our apparent contract offer is significantly larger than his current one.

Surely he'd deserve to be up around Rooney/RvP wages? If we got him he'd arguably be our best player.
