Fabregas

I'll never understand all this 'looking stupid' or 'embarrassing' nonsense.

It's mere inches away from the "class and dignity" slapstick routine of Merseyside legend.

Either way, I understand that high profile transfers have so many details they can easily fail even when 99% done, and it's good to see for once that we appear to be genuinely going for a WC player in a position we need. Good stuff, just hope something comes off so we can shut Glaston up.

What the hell are we going to do about the Anderson chant if Fabregas signs? :( We'll have to come up with some sort of comical follow up to sing straight after it...

Oooonlyyyyy jo-king Cesc,
He's a fat cnut, you're the best,
Only jo-king Cesc,
You're the object of our wankfest,
A centre mid, who can pass
One who does not need to fast,
Not made of glass, you are class
'cause you are Cesc Fabregas,

Come on Seth, gotta throw in a transfer request pal, make it happen. Robbie wants you back.

I keep on reading on twitter from various journos that United seem to think Cesc wants the move. They must have been briefed from someone.

I wonder if this whole thing is a 'managed exit'. Either way, United or Cesc will get the blame from the Catalan press.

Club being under the impression it's doable is why I don't subscribe to the club being made to look a fool if it doesn't come to fruition. They must be something there, even if its an agent letting whispers get out.

Yep, just like Chelsea and Rooney will get the blame despite Utd and SAF being in the wrong Steve.

(Am I doing it right?)

I was thinking that even if Barcelona want to sell, how would they even go about declaring that? "we've accepted a bid?" "the player has said he want to go, so we're gonna let him?"

Doesn't seem like this would be a clear cut and amicable parting of ways to me.

I'd gladly support Wayne if I felt he was being mistreated, chief. I don't believe in 'my club, right or wrong.'

Probably mentioned pages ago but could merely be a rouse to get an improved contract. Wouldn't surprise me at all

This could be possible, but wouldn't Cesc be voicing his opinion more about wanting to leave, rather than keeping quiet and we make all the noise? If he really wanted to push for an improved contract he would be more likely to come out and say he wanted to leave, using the "I want more first team football" line or something along it.

No way we would be played like that. You don't make 3 bids for a player only looking for a better contract

The only reason we'd end up looking remotely 'stupid' is if we drag this on long enough to the point where we fail with no time remaining to move on to other targets.

Really don't see that happening. Transfer dealings aren't that one dimensional in the top flight. We haven't got a bunch of teenagers behind our transfer policies. Sure, clubs miss out on players for numerous reasons, and perhaps we'll miss out on a target or two, but we will be adding to an already great team

Seriously guys... the unthinkable is coming...

I couldn't think of anything more depressing if the case. We would have been well and truly suckered.

This is the spineless way to go about a pay raise, no doubt. But as they say, if the shoe fits

The fourth, the fifth, the minor fall - the major lift.

Cohen has such transfer foresight.

Indeed, it's the typical "throwing all the toys out of the pram" scenario and hoping the parents notice, but with Neymar coming in for such huge wages, can Barca afford to compete with United's supposed offer of double salaries?
