The problem with the modern muppet, and I include myself in this, is that we are forcing our muppetry in order to play along with the joke.

A true muppet is filled with delusion and of a genuine belief that a transfer could happen, we don't see enough of those anymore :(

I remember reading an article in the sun and they had 2 figures in there and they were so nice to add the 2 figures for all the readers who had problems with simple addition.

Not to get all serious on your ass because I can see where you are coming from, but I wouldn't be overly shocked if many drawn to reading The Sun (and similar rags) had numeracy problems.

we've been burned one too many times now and have become cynical cnuts.

Where can we re-train ourselves? perhaps an old, long forgotten member of the Caf can be contacted. Somebody wise and bearded.

So what are you saying? Aren't we signing Fabregas then? ;)

Very true that. You've been a member since 2004 Woodzy which is a considerable amount of time. By your experience and expertise you should be leading a new wave of muppets skilled via the sacred muppetry methods of our forefathers

You've been here since 2000. In Muppet terms that's basically a millennium Kinks.

I'm only a part time muppet. I like the drama over the off-season but don't want to become too invested.
Anyway, I feel like the problem is we can't believe Cesc is coming so the muppetry is forced. The key to a saga is that it's believable.
That's why when Cesc comes out and says "I like Barcelona.. I have a contract, if the club wants me I stay" or whatever then we blow this into a real saga.

Give it time friends. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Slightly contradicting what i've said, I actually think the Thiago thread is the best example of natural muppetry in the modern footballing era. There was a genuine belief we would sign him, and as a result the emotional scarring of losing out would truly warrant the 'kermit hanging himself' gif.

Taking this from walsh in the twitter thread:

Ain't dead in the water according to most journalists by any means, we are still plugging at this. I do have this funny feeling that there is hope. We would surely be smart enough to know when a deal is dead in the water and just stop there. But we are persistent in this, and doubling his wages (according to these tweets) as well as giving him a chance to play him in his favoured position constantly could sway him?

35 million will.be rejected. Never seen a club bid four times for a player so it probably is dead in the water.

That's definitely how it works. Four is just completely off limits, it's an anomaly in football, that's why we gave the #4 jersey to Phil Jones, because his face makes no sense.

The Equalizer let me watch when we bid for Baines. But we just did it one time. It's outrageous to bid more than one time for a LB in the same league as your own with hair from the 70's, Ed told me.

Cool story brah.

Haven't our previous bids been plus ad-dons anyway? Or reportedly so...

Also, how does this 50% clause work in terms of add-ons?

We should just skip to the fifth bid.

Lets just start throwing money at the cnuts, they will crack sooner or later.

Give it up lad.

I dont expect such condescending nature from you of all people to be honest it is as disappointing as this Fabregas saga. So either add something useful like,

"Bid more money for him, lolz"

Or just leave me alone, use ignore if you have to.
