Fabregas wants to go to Barcelona

ROMAN ABRAMOVICH plans to make a £50million summer swoop for Cesc Fabregas.
Chelsea's billionaire owner will try to hijack any Barcelona bid to land the Arsenal skipper.

Capturing Fabregas would be an even more astonishing Blues coup than the recent £50m British record signing of Fernando Torres from Liverpool.

Chelsea see the Spaniard as the ideal partner for Frank Lampard in the side's engine room.

ABRAMOVICH ... wish-list
But Abramovich faces a huge task to convince the Gunners to part with their talismanic midfielder, who last year asked to be allowed to join Barca.
Emirates boss Arsene Wenger slapped on a £60m price-tag to stave off the Catalan giants and, in the end, he convinced his captain to stay.

Fabregas, though, was left with a bitter taste in his mouth. He felt Barcelona could have done more to convince Arsenal to sell, after he had taken the huge step of asking to leave in a face-to-face with mentor Wenger.

Fabregas explained in SunSport that returning home to play for his idol Pep Guardiola and alongside the world's greatest players like Gerard Pique, Andres Iniesta and Leo Messi was too good an opportunity for him to turn down.

Barca are expected to try again, though there are doubts they can afford the massive fee.

And it is their reluctance that might prove key in Chelsea's efforts to snatch Fabregas.

The biggest obstacle could be his reluctance to cross London. A move to Stamford Bridge would be viewed as treason.

Fabregas has admitted he feels a huge debt to Wenger and Arsenal, so fans will hope for those reasons Abramovich will find it impossible to lure him away.

Then again, two weeks ago any Liverpool supporter would have said the same about Torres.

Roman ready to buy the lot again.

That would be a good buy, but I dont see why Fabregas would stay in London or England for that matter and not play for Arsenal

Yeah, I can't see him playing for any other team in England. If he shall move, it will be to Barcelona.

Cesc going to Chelsea is about as likely to happen as Messi turning up to play for Sunderland.

More like Lampard's replacement, even though this deal will obviously never happen.

Fabregas and Essien would form quite a CM partnership

Yeah, I can't see him playing for any other team in England. If he shall move, it will be to Barcelona.

:D that's what they all said about torres.

However, in this case. I agree with you. Fabregas will go to barca. The question is when. xavi is 31, so i think the move will happen next summer (2012), not this.

Well, Barcelona have no money to buy him now...

If Chelsea are serious about bidding, United should bid too.

Agreed - got to be in it to win it.

United used to regularly sling a bid for Vieira apparently. Would have been some midfielder along side Keane in his prime.

Terry mikel and Fabregas in one team......if they were to sign Rooney as well would they go down as the Cuntiest side in history?

If Fabregas is available and Arsenal are willing to sell to an English club he should be #1 #2 and #3 on David Gill's list of targets. Fantastic player, exactly what we need.

If we accept that a young man throwing pizza at someone after losing a football match is the worst sin that can be committed (and clearly it is) then what if a young man throw pizza at a starving man? There's a dilemmmma for you.

It's dailreimya, not dilemmmma.

He is OUR manager and an Icon of the club. I could not give two shits about what fabrecunt does to others.

Yeah, he is, but that doesn't make what Fabregas did any worse. He was unhappy with the way an opposition manager set his team out to play, there were arguments in the tunnel, so he (allegedly) threw some food at him. It's an immature and petty thing to do, granted, I just don't think it's that big of an issue. If you don't want us to sign him because you think he's a cnut generally then fair enough, the are players I'd never want us to sign no matter how good they are, but the alleged chucking of a pizza 6 years ago wouldn't be a major factor in that. At Aberdeen, Mark McGhee once attacked Ferguson but they had a good relationship for years after that.

To be fair thats spot on, I just cannt stand the bloke :)

Of course it's relevant that it was Ferguson. To disrespect him is to show contempt to the sport itself, such are his achievements and his stature. To toss a slice of pizza at Iain Dowie or someone like that could possibly be construed as a pro-football act.

To throw pizza at SAF isn't deeply evil and it doesn't injure anyone, but it's pretty much as pathetic and petty as you can get. Of course it reflects terribly on Cesc's character. Sharky7 called him a huge, monumental twat. That's probably pretty close to the truth. To suggest he made it sound like Fabregas is a child molester, like Count Duckula did, is silly and way off, and more hyperbolic than the words used by Sharky7. We would never call a molester a "twat", not even a monumental twat. There are other words for that.

Don't want him at United, hope he doesn't go to Chelsea though. Would be far worse than Torres going there.

LIONEL MESSI is convinced Cesc Fabregas will join Barcelona in the summer.
Fabregas, who led Arsenal's stunning win over Barca this week, almost quit for Spain last year.

But Messi believes the World Cup winner is now ready to jump ship — and there is nothing the Gunners can do about it.

He said: "In the end Cesc will do what he wants and what the people at Barca want.

"It doesn't depend on us, but I think his inclination is to be at Barcelona because there is nowhere he will be better off than here."

Messi is in no doubt how big a blow to Arsenal it would be if Fabregas does go. The Argie ace added: "It's clear he is vital for them.

"Their play depends so much on him — they are constantly giving him the ball.

"He is a very important player for them

They never stop.

Barcelona and Real Madrid at their best - telling press they want someone at their club.

:wenger:

I'd love to see a gif of Fabregas celebrating a goal and when his lifts his shirt up there's a Barca shirt underneath.

English club players should start coming out with so-and-so wants to come here/join us. I'd like to see how long it lasts before UEFA step in.

it doesn't work like that because it wouldn't be believable.

players like fabregas and ronaldo actually want to be off deep down inside, therefore its believable and why it gets press.
