Fabregas wants to go to Barcelona

Fabregas is already playing in Red and Blue. The backheel was a shocker.

If Fabregas wanted to be at Barca, he should have stayed there when he was 16.

Should Pique have never joined United as well?

They only jump ship because the Spanish FA/gov't won't allow players to sign pro terms until age 18.

Embarrassing performance from him.

Wonder if it will make Barca want to sign him more or less?

He wasn't fit last night. He's a top player - but the fact remains that he wouldn't get into Barca's midfield at the moment anyway.

This is correct. If I "dreamed of playing for Barcelona" then the place to be is, probably, Barcelona.

It is to me, fairly simple.

Probably moved to Arsenal for the money and has since signed an 8 year contract - the latter of which may also be a barrier to moving back to Barca.

He doesn't seem very bright.

More then money he moved to Arsenal for the almost instant first team opportunity he never would of gotten at Barcelona. Since, he has won a world cup and will most definately move back to Barcelona and play a more impotant part in their team then he may ever have if he stayed at Barca.

Seems like plenty of young lads get first team football at Barca - infact I can't think of any club who produce more home grown talent.

I suspect that Arsenal were paying him a lot more as a pro that he was getting as a youth team player at Barca.

No doubt he will want to go back to Barca - but it doesn't change the fact that if he goes back now he'll be picking spelks out of his arse a la Mascherano.

I also can't see Barca spending big money on a player they lost for nothing, especially when Arsenal will demand a huge fee.

He needs Madrid to make a move for him which will force Barca's hand. Otherwise it will become a saga again.

I'm indifferent to this. If he moves, I'll wish him the best of luck, thank him for his services and hope we get a decent amount of money. If he stays I'll accept it, I don't buy into this bollocks he's underperformed this season..look at his stats. Still one of our most productive players while being injured for large parts of the season.

If he wants to go, we should just take the money and move on..hopefully buy a few players who will help the defensive cause.

Or us beat Barca in the Champions League final, I'm sure that'd loosen the purse strings a little

I've no doubt Fagregas would be out in a second. His problem is he's still plenty in contract, so Arsenal have absolutely no reason to accept anything other than a massive fee for him. If Barcelona won't pay that, he's staying, end of. At some point his contract will dwindle to the point Arsenal will accept a lesser fee, but there's no saying that'll be this summer

Merson seemed sure he'd be off in the summer but I don't know how many lines he did at half time.

We should throw in a 40m bid tomorrow and see what Fabregas does

I agree, if modric is going to cost £30-£40m then Fabregas would be a steal at £50m. I would rather sign him than any other midfielder. What have we got to lose by giving him some food for thought. We want a creative, goalscoring midfielder who is a great passer and he can play in a 4-4-2.

He has always said he wants to win trophies and we have won more than anybody else, so why not?

He will only warm the Barca bench anyway, here he would be the perfect replacement for Scholes and would be guaranteed first choice.

Fabregas himself has said there is zilch chance of him playing for another Premier League club. Plus, who was the last relevant transfer between United and Arsenal since the inception of the PL era (please refrain from saying Tweety )? We wouldn't sell a player of his quality to a rival on these shores..it most definitely is going to be Spain if he's going to move anywhere.

He is a complete midfielder who can put in a tackle as well. Would not mind seeing him here.

Your probably right, but if you don't bother buying a ticket you have no chance of winning the raffle.

Who would have thought Torres would have gone to Chelsea? How about Carroll or Suarez to a team without CL? What about Tevez and Silva joining City?

Money talks im afraid THM, it may not do in this instance, but a lot of the time it tends to have a major influence on proceedings. Barca were not prepared to pay £50m for Cesc last year, if we were to offer that to Arsenal and Barca do not match it, Cesc would be left with the choice of staying with Arsenal or winning the trophies he craves with Utd.

Torres got desperate enough for success to make a similar bold move, and i'm sure he would have preferred a move back to Spain, and who's to say Cesc won't find the very realistic chance of silverware at OT too tempting to turn down should his Barca dream not materialise.

Fabregas has got a lot more class than Torres. In any case, I think a deal's been worked out for him to leave for a substantial sum this summer to Barca.

Class as in player or person? If the former I agree with you, if the latter I strongly disagree.

Well he's certainly not the type to stick two fingers up to the club and move to a fierce rival in the same league.

We won't move for him, if he ever decides to move within England it will be for money and to a club like City, but I still doubt he would do that. He has his mind set on Barcelona and he is going to end up there someday, so from our point of view it wouldn't be a great move to spend £50m+ we don't really have on him to get two or three years of service at most before he buggers off to Spain at a fraction of the price because Barcelona push for a move hard enough.

I suspect he'll try to force a move this summer if there is no real improvement made in the playing squad - I think there will be though, and thus he'll stay.

So Arsenal will definitely sell us to him, then...

When did I say that. I don't have a clue what intentions any of the three parties. Truth is that to really improve this team we need a player of Fabregas' talents. He is world class and would automatically lift our midfield. It's easily our weakest area, you could say its a final jigsaw piece

You jest?

Not at all, I believe he alluded to it before if given the chance.

I think Fabregas' desire to win silverware outstrips his Catalan loyalties.

Xavi is leaving any time soon and Fabregas was whistled off when he was subbed at the Camp Nou a few months ago.

It's hardly a Figo situation because gasman didn't do anything substantial at Barca in the first place.

If he wants trophies, he shouldn't go to a club that is competing with Barcelona.
