Fabregas wants to go to Barcelona

I personally can't imagine the reaction around here if a player was desperate to sign for United yet his club and manager were having none of it.

Berbatov went on strike at Spurs because they wouldn't sell him to Utd.

Tapping up is everywhere.

Owen Hargreaves. There's a lot of threads on him if you want to dig them up. The consensus was slight embarrassment at the club indulging in blatant tapping up.

I thought tapping up was when you have contact with a player eithout the clubs permission? To openly declare you want to sign a player isn't tapping up. So for all the talk there is nothing illegal about it. It is just big clubs using their pulling power.

Hargreaves? Slight embarassment is slightly different to what's been said about others. Also Hargreaves is no Fabregas and the case is a bit different. Also in hindsight Bayern will be delighted and United not so much...

I find this whole saga amusing. Arsenal hold all of the cards since Cesc is on a long-term contract, but the Barca players cannot seem to get it into their heads that there is no way he will move this year because Arsenal are rightly insulted and they simply aren't willing to pay the going rate for a top class talent. Its almost as if they believe they should get a cut rate price since he came out of their academy.

Arsenal should find a way to sell him to Real Madrid just to piss Barca off.

How? the part about tapping up?

or it being "slightly embarassing" when talking about United yet the vilest of crimes known to humanity when talking about spanish clubs?

To be honest, it's pretty much everything you post about Barca these days. They can do literally nothing wrong in your eyes while other clubs/players do exactly the same thing and you're the first to slag them off.

It just makes discussing anything Barca-related with you completely pointless. Which is a shame, because on non-Barca stuff you clearly know your football.

based on what?

Fair play Pogue, i just don't see Barca as being as bad as a lot of clubs. Yes in this case the players have acted cnutish but i expect that. I don't have a bad word to say about Guardiola in this whole thing and i think the new president has acted fairly well.

i havent seen Barcelona act like this with any other player and i do put it down to it being a catalan player from their youth system who clearly wants to be back with them. Madrid use these tactics with almost every signing. Ronaldo was not the first, they've been doing it for so long. Zidane, Ronaldo (the), taking Figo etc they have no shame. They try and buy success, galactico and all that whilst Barcelona actually produce more top players than they buy.

In the point about tapping up, techincally tapping up is clubs contacting players without the clubs persmission to do so, nobody said you cant talk about a player. It is summer and silly season, every club is linked to 100 players, Fabregas just happens to be the biggest name.

I also put some of it down to the media in Spain, they seem to report everything. I mean there were reports last season about Villa to Barcelona and how he was in tears when he didnt get the move. Then he was promised the move the following year.

I'm honestly trying to maintain a sliver of rationality because as far as Barcelona and Spain in general are concerned i've seen very little of it in recent times around here. I'm clearly going to far in the opposite direction.

so when is he not posting about Barca are playing dumb and dumber with Cal?

Cal is entirely insane, however with cal you get what you see. With you you basically get nothing. I'd take cal over you anyday. You're a phony but anyway, why you felt the need to stick your nose into other peoples debates just to try and deride one of them is anyones guess.

However you get your kicks i guess...

You are a massive Spastic on this forum, who posts about the same limited crap all year round, you actually talk about manchester united once in a blue moon, saying you know anything about football is an insult to even lads like Scholsey

the highlight of his season, showed incredible intelligence in getting the thug Motta sent off. I applaud him for that.

You should get smacked for that.
Busquets is one of the most hatable characters playing football out there atm.

Legend my fecking arse.

So basically you are so offended that someone has said i talk sense on some matters, any matters at all that you felt the need to come along and involve yourself...

insult after insult. Nobody takes you seriously, you're a joke. I'm not out looking for anyones respect, you clearly are. You're like the stray cat rubbing up against anyone who gives you a sideward glance, utterly pathetic.

So now in your all knowing opinion i know nothing? And to top it off you throw in another insult and even bring someone uninvolved into it, showing your class as usual.

Why dont you try and get me banned again?

to have won the world cup, champions league and more by the age of 21, legend in the making, no doubt in my mind. Sergio B is slicker than partially melted ice covered in refined oil. Class without class.

na, just going against the general consensus that everything spanish is disgusting.

So you respond to morons in a moronic way?

As someone else said, you can be a decent poster, but when it comes to certain subjects, you're as bad as the worst of the muppets.

To understand one you must become one...

But seriously, i don't take it all too seriously. Some people get more wound up than others and mindless arguing does make a tedious work day go a little quicker. I'm sorry for the good posters who get annoyed by it but for the morons i hope it gives them fits.

So why the crap about Biscuits? He's a good player but a cnut and everyone knows it.

I rate him, his antics are not ideal but his actual play is something i admire. He is a smooth player, comfortable on the ball with good passing and a relaxed style. I like those types of players.

Yes he rolls around too much but who the hell doesnt in the modern game and one gif of him doing something a million other players do (but don't get caught) doesnt make me despise him.

Barca and Madrid shouldn't really openly court players through the press but the reality is that this shit happens all the time in every league. Look at Rafa's ultimately unsuccessful public pursuit of Barry, or Utd's of Berbatov.

Tapping up goes on everywhere, the two Spanish clubs just seem more open about it, that's all.
Tapping up is unavoidable in modern football. But totally disrespecting the club you want to do business with isn't. Barca are likely to not get Fabregas this summer because of their blatant disrespect.

Indeed, Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime like Puyol have probably made Barca have to wait 2 years now, It's rare a professional player disrespects Wenger like this in the public eye. Does he drink too much Fanta before interviews?! Why can't he be calm?

When reading this thread I actually thought Frankly was a WUM, finding out that he isn't and he actually believes what he says about Barca makes it all the funnier imo.

Its the cynicism. Yes he rolls around and everyone does that. Not everyone gets players sent off deliberately, not everyone collapses in agony any time he loses the ball or is tackled. Just as much as some mad idiot who goes around flying into tackles with two feet raised, Biscuit's utterly cynical approach leads to some of the injuries and poor challenges that are ruining the game.

Rarely have I seen someone so young, with so many good elements, behave like he has and without any compunction. Just because everyone does it, doesn't excuse it and not many people do it as blatantly as he does.

 Somehow the opinion that Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world, something that Sir Alex agrees with, makes me "entirely insane"...

 If you can get your head out of Barca's ass for a while, you'd see that the fact that Fabregas is Catalan makes no difference to anything in this argument. He made up his mind to leave Barcelona all those years ago, he made up his mind to sign that ridiculously long contract all those years ago. Did anyone force him to do either against his will?

You see, with Ronaldo, he knew he wanted to go to Real Madrid eventually and he signed a contract that would allow him to do so. Fabregas was too stupid to do that and has to bear the consequences.

 As for Real Madrid's other purchases, Zidane, Figo, fat Ronaldo & co, one thing seems to be clear - they are willing to pay. Barcelona indulge in underhand tactics to try to force the price down and cry about it to the media when they can't.

It would be funny if Arsenal try to sell him to Real Madrid.

Yep, it is pretty disgusting but I suppose every big club does it. We certainly do it when we can and not that I agree with it, it just seems that the Spanish rags go out of their way to ask the same question to every single footballer. Pepe/Sneidjer at Madrid all did it when asked about Ronaldo. (it doesn't excuse the fact they they simply cant say:

"Player X is a great footballer and it would be great to play with him, but that is up to the clubs to agree to his sale"...darn spoilt footballers

It wasn't a strike. He's been the same way for two years now. It's just Berbatov.

The rest of this thread is great. It's turned into all out warfare!

It beats me. The Ihni binni dimi diniwiny anitaime are doing Fabregas no favours whatsoever.

It's as if the Barca players think they're the football gods, sanctioning transfers even when it doesn't concern them, Torres for example. Bunch of wankers really

CESC FABREGAS was in tears as a 2,500-strong crowd in Spain paid homage to the Arsenal star but sang 'Cesc go to Barcelona'.

The Gunners midfielder broke down as his hometown of Arenys de Munt honoured him with a special medal to mark his World Cup heroics.

The crowd cheered as pictures were shown of Fabregas in the Nou Camp youth team and he welled up as they sang 'Cesc go to Barca'.

Arsenal are refusing to sell their skipper, 23, and now Barca may move for Everton's Mikel Arteta.

Arteta, who has two years left on his contract, is currently negotiating a new £70,000-a-week deal but could double his money in Catalonia.

apparently he was crying about his Grandad passing away as he was talking about, but trust newspapers not to mention it!

That's true, and afterwards his grandma was interviewed and said he wanted to go to barca but won't until it's possible, the Fabregas family seem to be the only ones showing a modicum of respect to Arsene and Arsenal, and Cesc himself clearly wants to leave but isn't engineering it as bad as we saw with Ronaldo.

Here's an exclusive for you, Cesc Fabregas is not moving to Barcelona, in fact he's my new neighbour. Rumours were he had bought the house a few doors down about a month ago and I had it confirmed to me yesterday. (Don't worry his house is considerably bigger and more expensive than the one i live in, I'm still keeping it real.)

Gooners let me know when he's due back and I'll take a jelly round.
