Weren't some people saying he's not getting a look in because of contract issues? He reportedly wants the same wages as his brother and that's why he's being frozen out.

I can honestly say that I have never seen anything like that until I read your post. Where did you hear this story?

When I saw this thread bumped, I thought out of our problems today, Fabio not starting doesn't make the top 10!!

He can't be that much worse than Buttner or more casual than Evra - guess he should play

If there's even the slightest bit of truth in Fabio requesting similar wages to Rafael, he's got one cunning cnut of an agent. There is zero leverage in such a request.

No. Why would he stay when he clearly isn't being given any opportunities and sees the likes of Buttner start ahead of him.

We can only go off what we've seen and that's him performing here on every chance he got. Fergie would never have put him in the team in the first place if he was a bad trainer so it is a mystery.

Looking at how much Fergie enjoys writing in his book Gary Pallister was such a terrible training, I doubt that's true.

There must be more to that than Fabio just not training well enough or not looking good enough.

I have no idea why Moyes is determined to run Evra into the ground and put up with poor performances as a result rather than just using Fabio from time to time.

I can guarantee Fabio wouldn't put up the sort of shite performances our vice captain has gotten away with this season.

The one thing you could never fault Fabio for is determination in defending. He'll always run himself into the ground to track runners.

Evra's resorted to standing there watching them stroll behind his back. He's done.

Moyes clearly does not rate Fabio as a right back or consider him a left back. Fergie was the same on the left back thing but not sure why he can't get games at right back. He has proven good enough there in the past.

I expect the first (probably only) bit of transfer business involving us in January will be Fabio's exit back to Brazil.

Depressing situation :(

I just don't buy for a single second the notion that he wants parity with Rafa (who allegedly is on 120K - something I also doubt) and is making it difficult for himself to get games. His brother has just become one of the most promising full backs in the world and is virtually a starter for us. Fabio was always considered at equal or greater level. He didn't do bad at QPR (who let's face it, were an absolute shit side) and he cannot be worse than Buttner.

I also find it strange that Zaha hasn't gotten actual game time, but that's perhaps another matter. Although the two have one thing in common, a manager who doesn't rate them.

Please let's drop this nonsense that Fabio is a little cnut who is wanting more than twice the money he can realistically get anywhere else. It's absurd. He's not being picked. Either it's a spat with Moyes or Moyes doesn't rate him. But at least give him a fecking chance.

What a stupid decision to go in like that. Looked frustrated - wouldn't surprise me if he's on his way out.

Over-enthusiastic. Shame it hasn't worked out for him here. Still think he's got talent. Hard to see Moyes ever selecting him again.

He looked like a lad possessed or bitter about something with the way he was flying around when he came on. I reckon frustration might of had a lot to do with it, there was a bit of ''feck this shit of not being picked for so long, I'll show you Moyes'' going on with him I'd say. It's a pity things panned out the way they did though.

As if getting game time wasn't hard enough for him. Probably the last game he's ever going to play for us with the exception of an injury crisis.

I'm not saying that we looked brilliant or anything like that, but Swansea didn't look like scoring at all before that red card. Probably cost us the game.

True, reminded me of Nani-Madrid last year. Once we lost a man, it was all about trying to stop the inevitable goal. Not how United used to do things.

It's become pretty simple now. That was a foolish and overly reckless slide tackle. I know he was trying to impress on a rare appearance but it's turned out horribly for all concerned.

Moyes doesn't rate him at LB, and he's hardly gonna get any more game time. We need to let him go for the benefit of everyone and sign a full back in January. Hope the Fabio Coentrao rumours work out.

Thought he was unlucky at first but have since decided it was a red card. Seen plenty of yellows given for those though. All comes down to frustration and trying to make too much of an impact. You could see he was amped up as soon as he came on and had some good play winning the ball and getting us going forward, but he boiled over with the tackle. Frustration and who can blame him? When an imposter like Buttner gets to play instead of you

Looked like he'd been at some kind of drugs, steamed around recklessly before that final ridiculous foul.

Should be enough to hush the fanboys continually asking why he's not playing.

Ruined it for us, when we just needed a draw to get through, and get some of the injured lot back.

No need to have a go at him really. Idiotic challenge, yes, straight red, yes but he must be fecking devastated right now just like Rafael was when he got sent off against Munich. No need to pour shit on him now lads, he was good as gone for some time now and just proved it now.

You freeze someone out, play wingers and CBs in their position ahead of them, play them once for 10 minutes all season, then fling them on for the last 20 of a tense FA Cup tie and expect them to be up to pace?

Management.

I was laughing for 5 mins at his sending off. If you don't laugh, you have to cry.

No sympathy for him. Even if he was 'too eager' (which is a terrible excuse) it was a stupid challenge and played a part in us losing the game.

It's obvious we're holding on to him as a body until the end of the season as a precaution and he'll be released. That may well have been a parting gift unless we get a major defensive injury crisis.

Like a calf being let out of the barn for the first time. Had he started he probably would have gotten carded early and then settled.

He looked like he was playing for himself from the word go. It's seemed pretty obvious that his head's elsewhere for a while now.

Sad thing is if Fabio leaves it makes it much harder to keep Rafael long term. I can understand why Fabio was so wound-up when he came on. There's been plenty of opportunities to give him a run-out this season but he's been overlooked by Buttner and Smalling for full-back, who are both pretty shit at it. He's proven in the past that he's better than both those players at full-back.

All this talk about Fabio letting the manager down, it's true, but I also think Moyes let Fabio down this season and that is how he's been repaid, because Fabio no longer gives a feck.

The red was his fault, no doubt about that. But the energy...that's exactly what this United side needs. A bit of life and i doubt he'd have been sent off if he started the game.

Can we ban the word fanboy from this forum? How can you be a fanboy when he's played about 7 minutes this season and is stuck behind complete and utter shit. I'm a better defender than Buttner and a better passer than Smalling. He's played 50 matches for us before this season including the run to the CL final, where he looked great.

We've really fecked this one up I think. At worst we could've developed him as a deputy to Rafael. He's usually been the more relaxed and perhaps more intelligent twin. I've never seen him like that today. Freeze people out completely and then you wonder why they don't seem all there.
