It is indeed bizarre. Most of the transfer guff seems to be given to junior clickbait merchants to just keep spamming stories online. The decent writers tend to be kept/keep themselves well away from it all.

I'm not convinced he's a Mourinho style DM. Jose likes 'third centreback'-type holding midfielders, like Makalele or Zanetti or Matic. Maybe he's capable of that, but he doesn't look like the type from what little I've seen of him.

We only need Fabinho. Getting both would mean Herrera or Valencia losing their spot in the first 11 or one of Fabinho or Matic would be on the bench.

I have no issue with getting both and using Matic for bench/squad depth.

Meet Mourinho - as long as the players are available, he will play same 11 twice a week. He rotates only when he is forced to or when he is not satisfied with the performance of a particular player.
Technically true but, someone like Mourinho generally sticks with the same 11 until he is forced to change it.

Look at literally almost any 3 game period during his last stint at Chelsea.
He still made minor tweaks most games. He usually changes 1 or 2 players each game. Most managers do, with some changing 3 or 4

But I agree, Herrera definitely can not be benched, he's literally untouchable for me.

When he was at Chelsea he used that Courtois-Ivanovic-Terry-Cahill-Azpi-Cesc-Matic-Willian- Oscar-Hazard-Costa lineup over and over again during the title year occasionally dropping Oscar for Ramires in big games. It is why guys like Schurrle, Cuardado, Salah, Filipe Luis struggled for playing time.
I was thinking the same. Fabinho should play in midfield for us but could step in if Valencia doesnt play. On the other hand, we also have Pereira and that's why I hope we only buy one midfielder unless we let Fellaini go

How much of these players have you actually seen?
It seems odd to me that so many people are experts on Semedo now despite him being a relative unknown just a few months ago.
I imagine a fair few posters started trying to catch Benfica games after being so heavily linked to a Lindelof-Semedo double transfer in January. I hadn't seen much of either player prior to that. I've watched plenty of Cancelo and Pereira, less of Henrichs and Aurier.
I would not consider myself anything like an 'expert' on any player, but 6-7 games normally gives you a reasonable idea about a player's skillset.
If we have Pogba, Herrera, Fabinho, Matic and Fellaini as cover we have some great depth in our centre. Can easily see Fellaini being the player Jose brings on when we are up by 1 goal with 10 mins to go to had height to us against teams hoofing it into our box.

David Amoyal has Fabinho to United at 45% likely, someone responds saying that's low then he responds saying it's very high for him. For reference he has Manolas and Paredes to Zenit at 75%

top two journos say negotiations and bid, i'd imagine 45% is the first bid being rejected, now it's all "negotiation"
It feels like the Caf is creating it's own narrative with what is going on with this. It's incredibly quiet in the media. Even the likes of Di Marzio have been relatively understated on this one. I wonder if they suspect they are being fed duff info on this by agents or Juve as part of their negotiations.
Boufhasi is very reliable and he claims he is one of our priorities.
Boufhasi said two days ago we were in negotiations. I don't think an update two days ago is quiet?
