Fabinho

I think he is disciplined enough to play as a DM but more importantly seems to have a good football iq which should make him more coachable and adaptable to different schemes than most.

He would be my first choice, as he seems to check all the boxes and I cant think of a better option at this time. Matic is getting old, seems to have lost a step and will cost a lot, Bakayoko seems more positionally indisciplined, Weigl is too soft, Diawara too laid back, while Carvalho and Danilo Pereira seem to rely too much on their physicality than their melons.

Like I said earlier, my only concern with him is rumors that he wants to go to only a club that will let him play at RB as he doesnt like playing in midfield.

The other player I have liked what little I have seen of him is Anderlecht's Dendoncker, but I havent seen enough of him to make a solid judgment. Everton seem to be interested in him.

I pretty much agree with your synopsis of the players mentioned. My only thought on Fabinho (i have not watched him enough admittedly) is that he seems to have more of a ball winning mentality.

I think what we need is someone who can control a game intelligently and who has vision and a real passing ability. Even if it's a cost to raw defensive talent. Similar to Carrick really. I'm just not sure Fabinho has the vision or passing range.

I'd of gone for weigl personally as I think he is a better all round footballing technician.

No way of telling if the guy is reliable, but if Di Marzio/Stone hasn't said anything about it then take every report regarding Fabinho with a pinch of salt.

Let him come back from holidays, all will be clear then, Before then its all jibberish.

How would an italian newspaper know about a Brazilian player based in France....doesnt add up!

Maybe an Italian report because Juventus were/are linked too? Might just be a case of looking for what we want to believe though.

Juve were linked him too but won't sign him because when they sign Costa, they'll have their non-EU quota filled up.

For what its worth both Bakayoko and Fabinho will not leave, Bakayoko is more liklier to leave as per reports in english media.

Well they've already signed Meite and Tielemans, both of whom were/are the highest rated central midfielders in Belgium (bar Dendocker). Moutinho will stay also. If the fees are correct there's no reason why they won't, in my opinion.

English media has called a lot of transfers wrong though. They were linking us most with Keane rather than Lindelof like the Portugese press were.

Hope we see more news soon, especially from the likes of Di marzio.

Exactly my thinking. That is why I was confirming if CdS are an Italian outfit. Only link I see, not knowing the players agents Nationality, is that Fabinho has been linked to Juve.

He's the only player from the ones we've been linked to this summer that I want us to sign.

But, it's a little weird that an Italian paper knows about a Brazilian player moving from a French club to a English club.

Fabinho can kick up a fuss if we are in for him imo. They would have to sell.

That said, I would take reports from CDS with a huge pinch of salt.
