I doubt woody is incapable of working at more than 1 deal at a time. As far as the first bit is concerned, it's about him not being in the list at all than about others being ahead of him. The first is very possible, the 2nd quite unlikely.
120 million euros very decent. I was against spending this much on a teen but feck it, he can play in 2 positions and looks mean. It is an absurd amount of money and I have been against it, but I am warming to the idea, so long as we have more money for others. Morata and Mbappe would be a glorious summer for improving our goal output

Strange that the BBC article says that: "One player United have been linked with who will not be moving to Old Trafford is Monaco full-back Fabinho." - he played almost the whole of the past season as a CDM.
Would be a big mistake imo. Herrera is not a machine, he can't play every game and when he doesn't play we struggle a lot.
I agree, need a set of 3 quality CMs + support cast, not 2+ which we have now.
He's also pretty average.

If we are passing on Fabinho because Jose plans to play Herrera as the holder and is targetting a more rounded CM then I get it, or if he has a better quality DM in mind, but passing on him for one of those 2 lumbering stiffs would be very disheartening.
It has been widely reported the Sweden centre-back will be heading to Old Trafford in the January transfer window, but Stone says United "have not bid and won't be bidding".
Would be disappointing if we weren't in for him - he is a defensive midfielder with a modern touch and good technique on him. Not just a tackler, but also quick and with good passing and dribbling on him. Dier is alright, but he slower and less of a footballer.
Can't help but think that all (supposed) targets right now are second and third-tier alternatives and squad fillers. Perhaps Mourinho has really gone mental and arrogant and wants to show the world that you can win things with "his" way of playing football. It didn't really start out that way last year and some of his signings were also different from his typical roles. However, if Newcastle had signed Lindelöf and Perisic I would not have been utterly surprised - and if Liverpool did the same (incl. Morata) I wouldn't really have feared them more next season.
We just have to trust Mourinho and him filling certain roles with certain players, but it seems hard to dream about more attractive football next season. Chelsea got some dull and important signings last year, but what was forgotten is that they got a world-class player in Kante and already had Eden Hazard to deliver the sparkle. Well well, it's a long time until the season starts.
De Gea - Shaw - Lindelöf/Rojo - Bailly - Valencia - Dier/Matic - Herrera - Pogba - Perisic/Martial - Mkhitaryan/Rashford - Morata is lightyears away from being a Champions League-competing XI... right now we need some flair, extreme match-winning mentality and ability. We need that Hazard, Sanchez, Dybala, Griezmann or Bale type of player. All the top teams have at least one, we have none right now.

Fabinho should be our number one target this summer. comparing Dier or Matic, I prefer Fabinho. He was Monaco main reason of success last season. I still BELIEVE united will sign him as the number 2 shirt is still vacant.
