Well Jose seemed to rate Renato Sanches so possibly, and there's Matuidi as a short term option or Naby Keita who is a very talented young CM.
Danilo is an interesting possibility and if we did go for a domestic based option there's Oriel Romeu from Southampton.
If Fabinho doesn't move this summer after us, PSG and City all took a look it is possible there are factors off the field putting teams off.

Going for Matic or Dier wouldn't make financial sense considering Chelsea and Spurs would bend us over for them both regardless of whether they wanted rid of them or not.

I think Fabinho is the best option and I just don't see any advantage to buying Matic or Dier. The latter when you take into account Levy easily being 50%+ more than Fabinho.

And someone like Hazard would walk into any team out there including Madrid and Barcelona. But I don't think he has a sustained drive. You saw it last season and he often speaks out basically saying as much.
And that's considering I'm over the fact he chose them over us.

Now consider Alexis as a counter. Maybe just a tad not as gifted as Hazard but he fights tooth and nail for a team despite setback after setback. The former would have jumped ship or stopped performing there much earlier.
