Fabinho

Were we linked with Kante this heavily? Fabinho has basically come out and said he wants to move to United. Dont remember Kante ever doing that.

He did it recently?

If we are not getting any DM in, then I can see us moving for another goal-scoring winger/no.10 to play the 4231 formation that we will most likely use next season. We need to improve our goal tally next season if we want to win anything.

Yes last week I think. He said United is his preferred destination and wont stop working hard until the move becomes a reality.

I haven't really followed but you are sure that it's not the February interview that made the round last week?

Should not jump into conclusions, its only june 13; but starting to think Mourinho will build "only" for EPL, not for the Champions League this season.

Could not be the contrary?
Lets say, Mourinho thinks he can trust in Herrera as DM, so instead of signing someone like Fabinho, or even Dier or Matić, United is looking for a box-to-box to play with a midfield of three, and the media just dont know what they're talking about.
For example:
Naingholan----Herrera----Pogba

Or Renato Sanches? Bayern have just signed Tolisso so our chances of getting Renato have gone up

Thought he'd be on a holiday for 2 weeks?

He is the kind of player that would fix our midfield. Hope we are trying to sign him.

So bayern are giving up on him within a season after spending record fees on him but he is good enough for us.

Doesnt mean its the end of the world for him? Madrid give up on players all the time and they go on to different clubs and have good careers.

Considering he's easily one of the best midfielders available, I find it hard to believe that we wouldn't be interested.

fixed that for you.

You see I don't like that one bit. First because United offer as much money, players don't sign for United for free and despite the fact that he earns relatively little money, he didn't push for a move last summer when clubs like Napoli and City made offers.

Completely different scenarios, madrid sell well performing players to get shiny new toys, sanchez has completely failed to get settled there, ofcourse he can still have a decent career but i highly doubt the best move for a player who couldn't settle at bayern is going to a club with even bigger spot light, also he isn't a dm so right now he will be useless for us as as we don't need a could be worldclass midfielder, we need a well functioning dm to get the best out of already worldclass midfielder.

Top players wouldn't sign for City if the Sheikh wasn't there.

But it's good to hear he turned down more money to remain at Monaco in the past.

Jose obviously fancies him or sees something in him. Could be worth a go for the right price.

I never trust anything jose says until he actually does those things, which mostly doesn't happen. Remember wanting chicha back, we need a striker now, don't hear chicha's name now do you? It is always misdirection, playing the media etc with him.

I don't think he said he wanted him back - we actually bid on Sanches though

Top players wouldn't sign for a club that can't pay their wage, it applies to everyone. And I'm sorry to say it but today, a player can choose City for footballing reasons and United offers the same huge wage that City offers.

No need to be sorry, Players do choose City for football reasons but that's down to the Sheikh Mansour effect.

Pep won't stay here like Wenger or mourinho likes England. City ain't a Bayern or Barcelona who can keep that level. When they don't compete with biggest honours players will leave. While there is also a risk of buying overrated players for overrated prices like stones bony mangala otamendi Sterling and many more in the past.

Pep is a stubborn manager with no plan B and no out of the box plans. He does not improvise which is his biggest weakness.

City could sign few technical unproved but highly rated players but top players for that Philosophy will always choose Bayern or Barcelona above them.

While for the Philosophy they are trying to build no English player would fit their plans because of lack of technicality in the grooming structure in English culture, so they'll always have to look abroad for talent at massive prices.

Yeah I thought I had read he was currently on holiday with his girlfriend?

So how's he found time to dine with the Atletico director

From his wife's instagram, she is in Madrid till Thursday. Fabinho is most likely with her there as well. Let's see what happens later this week.

I have the feeling their relationship cooled off after Real Madrid's debacle and the role Mendes players' had on it. Can't remember if he had a big part of the action in Mourinho's second spell at Chelsea.

Yeah, rumors have it that we were trying to involve Mendes in our attempt at Mbappé.
Maybe Mendes is jealous and upset that José got in bed with Raiola, not once but thrice.

We did but mourinho wasn't incharge then, again as i said he is being replaced by tolisso by the looks of it, i don't hear mourinho trying to sign him now, it is only fans clamouring for their fm wonderkid.

He's a translator for Di Marzio. I very much doubt he has inside info himself..

Indeed, it's not as if he works in marketing.
Sorry Acquire Me, couldn't resist that one...

To be honest we haven't really been strongly linked with any defensive midfielder even though I'm sure we'll get one.

Hopefully Spurs and Chelsea do us a favour and demand ridiculous fees so we end up with Fabinho.

He's so versatile and he's great from set pieces. Would be a great signing.

Dier is an unrealistic signing, Matic has had two pretty ordinary seasons and I don't see how those could be considered more viable options than Fabinho.
