He's got the talent definitely, doing a fastest lap a second quicker than Norris on new hard tyres shows both his pace and lack of race awareness though.
I don't think Alonso is even trying, honestly. They are using this race as a test or something.

I think tyres are definitely the biggest problem with F1 at the moment, not much difference in pace between softs and mediums and they are not worth the risk. In general, medium-medium-softs would have been good risk if the degradation of mediums is any higher, or the pace on softs was any better.
