F1 2024 Season

This is going to be fun. Red Bull look the 3rd quickest car right now

It's great that just as we get convergence on car design and probably 3 teams fighting for wins in the second half of this season and next season, we scrap these regs, replace them with shite, and probably end up with one team dominating again.

Yeah, thought the same last week. It's probably late now to bin the new rules, but it would be better probably to keep it like this.

Have teams overall ever been closer to each other in history?

So who's everyone put on pole?

I risked Max as there's been so many times he's looked to be struggling then breezes through qualifying

Hulkenberg and Yuki suddenly(and by suddenly I mean last few weekends) look like the best qualifiers on the grid.

With the other teams hopefully starting to catch RB is Perez going to start having to "matter" - it's potentially close enough Max can't carry them like he did last season

Imola is one of the hardest tracks if you are not quality driver, no wonder Perez is out.

Leclerc saved another set of tires, Tsunoda and Mclarens saved some in Q2 too I think.

Of course he gets pole. Least my prediction was correct

Hopefully McLaren's fast enough to make it a decent race

If we needed any argument who is the best driver on the grid, there you go. Incredible lap just when he needed it, once again.

Aye, was a cracker from Piastri.

Mercedes are a real mess. Neither driver can get any speed out of the car.

Ridiculous how much progress McLaren have made.

With all the hue and cry of how cost cap prevents anybody from catching the Bulls, Mercedes and Toto in particular have been truly shown up

He actually made a mistake in last corner, he had a P1 and great lap until then IMO. It was visible on the breaking that he lost the car.

Thought McLaren got lucky with the SC in Miami but they're looking good, mega job from them to close this gap on RBR.

Both Ferrari and McLaren have comfortably leapfrogged Merc. Especially when you think McLaren is a client team to Mercedes.

They got lucky but they were quite certainly the quickest. Norris was putting in the fastest laps before the SC on old mediums and Piastri, without all the upgrades, was on pace with Verstappen and Leclerc. They look very strong on long run pace here too

It's bit me on the backside too many times before when I've thought Max has been struggling so picked someone else so couldn't not pick him

Max really pulled that pole out of nowhere. Honestly where did that come from? Red Bull have been off the pace the entire weekend plus the previous one as well, Perez gets knocked out in Q2 in the same car yet Max manages to put it on pole. Ridiculous. Still you have to wonder if Red Bull will have the race pace to compete tomorrow. They didn't in the FP sessions and Max said they made changes even after FP3 so I imagine even Red Bull themselves won't really know what to expect with this setup. Tomorrow should be an interesting race!
