F1 2024 Season

Funny they were talking about Hamilton giving up on F1 in the build up. Davidson and Button saying the first things to go for them was the qualifying sharpness. Second thing was loads of stupid errors creeping in.

Man is cooked.
Ain't a race weekend on here if there isn't a negative comment about Hamilton from hobbers. Like clockwork. Hamilton must be renting space in your head

Get rid of Qatar and go to S Africa already
In all seriousness they need to have a pool of paid stewards (of multiple nationalities) and they need a pool of race directors who can be given autonomy to direct the races without fear that MBS will sack them, because a driver swore in the heat of racing at 200mph.

On that basis I guess Perez and Stroll are living rent free in all of our heads.

I think me and my husband are going into the final race level on super bru points

I've beaten him twice so far (or is it 3 times) including the whole Red Cafe league last year

That penalty for Lando just makes the one Max got in Mexico for torpedoing him off the track look even more ridiculous.

Think Alonso said something similar in Australia, basically confirming what many already thought about Russell anyway.

He does always have that air about him. Too bad I was just starting to slightly warm to him. Probably also explains why Lewis isn't exactly warm n fuzzy with the guy either. Or seemingly no driver really.

I don't buy that. They all whinge about each other and try to get each other punished with penalties. Just today he was crying for Norris to get a penalty and told Horner to report him. It's Formula 1's version of card-waving, they're all at it.

Russell does seem like a twat though but in this particular instance, he isn't doing anything unique.

Still all to play for 1 point between top 2
10.5 points this week, but just like Lewis I have had a disappointing season

I've also had a Perez like season, after winning last year I'm languishing in midfield

Will take that though in return for much more interesting racing

Not saying Russell doesn't do it but it's a bit outrageous Max is accusing him of that after what he did in Mexico (twice).
Seems his point is that Russell was pretending it wasn't a big deal afterwards and blowing it off only to then do a 180 in front of the stewards. Like the brother or sister who s ok until Mom and Dad come home and then tries to get you detention. Thats how it came across to me anyway. It doesn't sound like Max took issue with his on track response on the comms.

Piastri saying he really enjoyed the track but as a viewer watching his car and others struggle to overtake in the sprint and full race is disappointing. Once they get to around 7 tenths that's it and gravel time.

Ted Kravitz has just confirmed Ocon has run his last race for Alpine. He's been freed to run a test for Haas. Doohan to run Abu Dhabi race.

MBS really pissed off hahaha.
Must be hard to grow up where everyone “junior” to you is subservient and then find out that those growing up in western democracy’s don’t give a shit about your entitled opinions.

He will either be kicked out or there’s gonna be a major spill over this with a new governing body set up.

Max is behaving like Liverpool fans. Top of the pile (in Max's case, already won the fecking title) and yet can't help but play hard done by. It's absolutely nauseating.

Also, if he wants an example of one driver trying to screw another, perhaps he'd do well to remember the brake check on Hamilton in Saudi. Or the countless times he's forced others off the track by "bending the rules". Again, completely nauseating that he behaves like this the moment anyone hits him with the same "win at all costs" mentality that has made him so successful.

look at this dude expecting introspection from anything red bull related.

Christian Horner on Perez: "He knows the pressures of this business, we're going to give him all the support we can until the chequered flag in Abu Dhabi. What he decides to do is going to be his decision".

Ah thanks for clarifying

If Lando's penalty shows up any inconsistency it's with the token fine he got in Brazil for the false start. Forcing the whole field of cars on cold tyres to drive past an accident clear-up in the pouring rain, after ignoring the starting lights, is way more dangerous than a wing mirror.

They really do haunt your dreams don't they.

With a saucy picture of Horner on the ceiling above his bed to help him remember those dreams after he wakes up.

I agree, it was an odd choice to not penalize for the starting incident in Brazil but the double yellow in this case was about one of the very few clear cut cases for imposing one it seems. Lando not arguing against that one probably tells you everything you need to know. Having said that - he and everyone else should have never been placed in that position to begin with - including those who got the punctures.

Was this answered btw: If the idea from the direction was indeed that they thought no one would take the line where the mirror was placed - why did Bottas go over it as if he was aiming for it? Maybe to tell the race direction they re a bunch of idiots for not having moved it yet? Edit: NM looks like he moved out of the way for other cars but still fascinating how he didn't swerve around it either. If that means it was that hard to see for the drivers that alone is pretty damning for the race direction.

Sounds like their stance is exactly that it wasn't on the racing line and therefore they don't deploy a safety car is understandable to some degree but they should also know that cars may have to move off the racing line at any part of the track for a variety of reasons.

Kimi got a 10 second stop and go pen for not slowing down under double yellows during the race in 2017.

I remember a few grid penalties when done in quali in recent years. Seems fair what Lando got, spoiled a possible good finish to the GP but safety of others needs a heavy penalty.
So a wing mirror being left on the fastest part of the circuit for 4 laps before it was shredded into smaller parts is what then?

Can't tell if that still reads as they're desperate to keep him for the sponsorship money/not to upset Max...

He was doing OK Sunday until the car died, but surely the rest of the season is beyond recall

Bet it's the sponsorship money. They will lose a chunk of prize money by finishing 3rd in constructors.

It's actually genius by Perez, drive so shit that RB have to keep me to make up for the prize money they have lost.
