Wet, to dry, to wet again. Would have made a really chaotic race. Shame it petered out in the end. But top lap by Max.
And not just once but three times. What was he thinking? It's normally just 3 places per incident but i think you have to factor in just the sheer danger he caused stopping in such a stupid place.
His team read the situation well and put him in front to start the Q3.
He was always going to go quicker on his second lap, because of the RB anti-dive system on the front of the car means a RB needs 2 laps to get tyres upto optimum temps.Impressive by Max to grab another second with more rain coming down.
Expecting a double Merc podium tomorrow
Parking it in the middle of the straight as well. Its bizarre. Once is a accident, twice is careless, three times? Thats just utter incompetence from ferrariAnd not just once but three times. What was he thinking?
Calm down , maybe cut your sugar intakeMax Max Max, Super Max Max, Super Super Max Max Max, Super Max Max!
The man is a monster. Yeah the car helps as it always does when someone does well -but the cojones he showed again to put that large of a gap on the rest of the field in the wet while literary drifting at times is just something you should simply admire.Max Max Max, Super Max Max, Super Super Max Max Max, Super Max Max!

That’s what happens when you poach drivers from McLaren…What???? Sainz only got a 3 place grid penalty? what a yoke

Nah, I think the love and hate is spread pretty even for him and Max.There is a heavy overweight of Lewis Love on this forum. Someone needs to be the counterweight
Unlikely to make a mistake while hes sleep driving to the title. Needs a proper challenge from outside RB to see how he copes with the pressure of a proper championship challenge. When is the last time Max made a mistake that cost him? I’m sure he has but I genuinely can’t remember. Way too consistent and I’m not just talking about this season.
Agree with this statement.Nah, I think the love and hate is spread pretty even for him and Max.
Personally I think both are excellent drivers , Max at the top of his game right now and both can be utter cocks.
I give praise and criticism when needed.
Yes it was good driving by him. But swap him out of that RB for alonso or hamilton and they would have done the same. The man is a monster. Sets a bad precident for future qualifications, im thinking hungary, italy and singapore for example.FIA stewards at it again. How Sainz only got a 3 place grid penalty is beyond me. It's as if they looked at all incidents as 1 infringement instead of separately. Should have been 6 or 9.
We all agree it's not the driver's fault - it's the teams and their inability to let the driver know of the situation on the track fast enough for them to know how to react. Consistently punishing the drivers is imo wrong and FIA needs to either work out a system where all teams use the same way to deal with traffic or change the rules and punish the teams and their staff instead.FIA stewards at it again. Disagree, driver is at fault as well. Its not like saniz is a newbie. The team arent responsible for sainz parking his car in the middle of the track like an idiot, on multiple occasions. We all agree it's not the driver's fault - it's the teams and their inability to let the driver know of the situation on the track fast enough for them to know how to react. Parking your car in the middle on last-second notice is miles better than changing the driving lane and causing potentially hazardous moments. Both our commentators agreed on that - senior motorsports figures.Disagree, driver is at fault as well. Its not like saniz is a newbie. Martin Brundle, critized Sainz during qually yesterday for parking in the middle of the track. More than once since he did it more than once.Parking your car in the middle on last-second notice is miles better than changing the driving lane and causing potentially hazardous moments. That will help.So they have now shortened the T2 barrier by 4 metres.

Only logical explanation for me is, some of their bloody cameras are still not working because he was effectively a mobile chicane last evening.Sainz penalty is an absolute joke, he could have caused a serious incident at least twice, and completely fecked Ocon up who'd have probably got into Q2 without him getting in the way
One of these days, because the penalties are so lenient so no deterrent to it, someone is going to have a major major incident by someone effectively stopping on track. The thought of someone doing a hot lap, being unsighted and hitting the back of an extremely slow car....
for once we are in total agreement. Sainz should be at the back of the gridSainz and Hulk getting the same penalty is utterly pathetic.
