Agreed. The car isn't there yet and might not be for the rest of the season. We wont ever know. He had a chance. But after safety car restart, lewis on softs, Leclerc on used hards and with wing damage was still a tough overtake for Lewis. Mercedes still got a way to go to be genuinely on pace with Ferrari and RedBull.
Lets see what happens in France with the new flexi floor technical directive and how it affects ferrari and redbull.
Makes no difference to the result really but I’m baffled Perez has escaped a penalty, that’s shite racing that seems to be let go now.
He must be so pissed with ferrari. They are epically screwing up his WDC chances.Leclerc getting a telling off
crazy ending, got to love a late safety car.
just shows put them on a track wide enough to take multiple lines to attack and you get pure excitement.
fantastic all round.
It’s sad for Sainz because he is probably at the better end of the spectrum for no. 2 drivers, but Ferrari do need to make this call really. This race proves to me that Charles need to be a clear No.1. I'm very happy for Sainz, he is a good driver. But he is not WDC material. The quicker Ferrari make that call, the quicker they come close to winning one.
He gained position on Leclerc with it and then was still close to retake Hamilton. Cutting a corner should be a punishable offence, it’s not consistent at all when you look at similar incidents this season.
Nobody knows
He's making a racing biopic.Tom Cruise just casually hanging round is a bit bizarre
Days of Thunder II?He's making a racing biopic.
True that. To be fair I wouldn't mind Perez winning WDC so not worried about that.Lost 12 to Perez though, his main title rival if Ferrari behave like they did today.
Max only lost 6 points compared to Leclerc in what it looked like lost race after they discovered damage on the car. Nice damage limitation.
Happy for Sainz and happy that Perez got some luck after unlucky start.
On a sidenote, the entire grid will be desperate to know what was damaged on the redbull to cause it to become so slow. Not obvious from tv and RB will be desperate to keep it a secret.
Yeah, he would have won IMOCurse of the safety car strikes Hamilton once again. Only a couple of secs behind both Ferrari with much fresher tyres would have given him a great chance for P1.
In the end I think he’d have finished second ahead of Sainz if there was no safety car.Curse of the safety car strikes Hamilton once again. Only a couple of secs behind both Ferrari with much fresher tyres would have given him a great chance for P1.
I don’t think he’d have caught LeClerc. But Sainz for sure.Yeah, he would have won IMO

Mercedes will be a real threat in austria to both TB and Ferrari. No high speed corners where they suffer bouncing.
Next three tracks are all smooth surfaces. Wouldn't be suprised if Hamilton or Russell won one of them.

You do wonder when the abu dhabi saftey car curse will be broken for lewis. I think p2 would be the maximum today. But its a shame we wont know as his Hards were 10 laps younger than those on leclrec and sainz.Curse of the safety car strikes Hamilton once again. Only a couple of secs behind both Ferrari with much fresher tyres would have given him a great chance for P1.
It happens. Until the championship is decided by those things like it was nearly last year I don't put to much emphasis on it.Yeah in context it's very good damage limitation but man probably should have been his win.
That's Bahrain AUS and now Silverstone with major lost points to reliability/damage
