F1 2021 Season

I love how fecking blunt you can be in F1 interviews, and how you're guaranteed an answer. So much better than football.

The commentator keeps going on about how Max stayed on track in within the lines…..but his manoeuvre forced Hamilton off the track, there’s no chance he could have stayed on the track

it looked very simple

he lunged hard did Max but it didn’t pay off

Clearly Max didn't care if he collided right? Or am I seeing things through uncuntish eyes?

Or was that a horrible decision from the FIA and it should have been giving in favor of Max? No action seems shocking...or not?

Max slammed on at the end. Yes he made the corner but he dive-bombed Lewis again and pushed him off the track.
He’s a prick in general but he did absolutely nothing wrong there, he stayed within the limits of the circuit and made the corner.

Lewis then totally ignored the track, regained the position and gained over a second by going through the corner.

I'd love to know where Lewis was expected to go in that situation? Max only gained the position because he threw himself into a corner he couldn't actually make. It's how I drive on F1 games, using the other cars to bump off so I don't have to break

So if you're ahead at the apex the other has to back off. Seems like he should've given it back then from the replay.

I did see Lewis give some time back after rejoining, the comms and Red Bull didn't notice though.

Think its the latter. But then again this very incident has happened before and Hamilton committed more to the corner ending in a crash.

He did make the corner?

Jenson Button and Martin Brundle both think it’s the wrong call but Lewis fans on here are convinced it’s right

Horner has made it very clear their plan was always to run Lewis off track with his little interview there, saying it was made clear before the race about going over the white lines.

He DID make it.

I don’t get how Hamilton gave the advantage back when Max was ahead of him? Seems weird to me.
Yeah that's the bit that doesn't make sense. Max knew what he was doing it was a gambit and a crash putting them both out would have been fine by him. In Lews' defence there was nothing he could do he had no room at all left to him but it still doesn't explain the reasoning about the advantage - an odd one.

I don't understand that he gave back the advantage. Arguably they were even into the corner, and after Hamilton has never been closer than 1 second ahead.

I wonder if RB expected the position rather than the gap, leading Max to back off to get Perez closer, which then increased Hamilton's gap back up, causing it to look like the gap never decreased.

But the former point isn't wrong either is it? It didn't look as though Max was bothered if they touched there?

I did think he was going to have to give the position back, was surprised by the decision.

Is max trying to save his tires to make a 1 stop? Or is he losing them already? No way a hard lasts 48 laps.. surely?!

Sorry got to disagree. Max again breaking way later than normal, if lewis isn't aware of him there Max crashes right into Lewis probably DNF's him.

Glad to see the stewards aren't putting up with his shit today.

Max literally cut through Lewis’ line. I don’t really know why you’d have to give the place back if the other guy has initiated contact and forced you off track.

They've said that Max forced him off the track and he didn't keep all of the advantage that he had gained. I'm happy with that.
