F1 2010

I did that a couple of times but it did not exactly work too well. I ended up coming behind far too many people out of the pits so now I always pit after everyone else.

I don't mind that, if you go in first and you're in the top 3, say you go in 3 laps in when you've built up a lead between the top 3 and the rest of the race, you will come out 5/6/7th but behind 6/7 cars that all need to pit themselves, you overtake a few anyway just by racing and work your way up slightly before they pit and you end up going past 3/4 cars in the pits.

Yeah, I kept my optionals on in the rain and my lap was 8 seconds faster than Webber who was on wets, then it cleared up and they started finishing theirs 8 seconds faster alongside me too.

i did this in Q3 in canada, started to rain and i was the only driver who managed a flying lap on options before it got too heavy, got pole with that lap:D

Came 3rd at MOnza. Should have won really. Had pole. DDon't think Alonso or Button who were ahead of me took a pitstop

Anyway Even Red Bull are interested now. Need to increase my rep by 3 more for that though.

What is your rep? I've had 6 podiums in 13 races with 3 1st place finishes but Red Bull not interested yet, mind you Monza is my next race so it could come after that.

Pissed off aargh

Pole at Singapore and I'm leading and my pit crew mess it up. Keep in for 11 seconds and I come out in 3rd just behind Petrov who was also in the pits.

A spin on the 2nd last corner and 3rd becomes 4th.

I'm on 16th. Rep reqd for Red Bull is 19.

Not sure If I'll get that in the 4 races left. Need to win one race now.

They said their interested in me filling one of the seats. Wonder who it is. Webber leads the championship in mine.

Webber's had a season like Button last year. Lots of early season wins but done absolutely nothing after that and yet somehow leads.

Mine is the same, Webber won like the first 4/5 races but now Vettel is winning them all but I'll replace him soon. My rep is 15 but I have Monza next so I may just squeeze 19 before the end of the season or take Vettels seat if I carry on beating him as my rival.

Is there a difference being in the wet? Because on wet tyres in the rain, I just matched my time on dry tyres.

Another facepalm-worthy moment for me.

You either have tire sim off or you have a different game to me.

Or you just set a really bad lap with your dry tires :)

I'm not sure what problem people are having with tire sim in regards to the AI like Lamby but to me it works fine if not too well.

I have not checked real world times to compare but I lap about 4-5 seconds slower with tire sim enabled. Seems a tad harsh to me. I think it just means you have a really small window where I can do that kind of lap with tire sim on.

This is because only a few laps at the end of a session have a fully rubbered in track, also you need fresh tires and the correct temp on them. All these right I presume I could do non tire sim lap times.

AI times don't change as I would expect, sim settings are for players only.

I presume AI always have sim settings on, why would they need help?

The way to reduce their times is through the AI setting not the sim settings.

They definitely drive slower at the beginning of the race when they have cold tires.

Its too easy with the sim settings switched off even on legend. I qualified 4th in lotus.

Some fantastic racing around spain and china this morning.

I'm not going round in circles on this, we'll both get dizzy :D

My wet times are only about a second off my dry ones, and it does make it easier when it rains because the A.I aren't so good in the wet.

Yet another way to feck Alonso over

ok wtf, i'm driving the lotus, managed to qualift 1st on a very low 1.23. Yet somehow, no matter what I try, everyone seems to take far more speed on the last corner and the very fast 5th/6th gear corner in sector 2 which I can never take at 6th.

Argh!

Yeah the AI are rather poor in the rain on Expert level atleast.

I almost always get pole if theres rain!

3rd game in a row my pit crew messes up. I was ahead of Hamilton and came in wth him in the pits and yet he came out ahead of me

How do I change pit settings in race on PC?

Next race at some weirdly named circuit I really struggled. 60% rain in Q2 and by the time I changed to Options It was too late. Qualified 13th. I think that's ended any realistic hopes I had of getting up to the 19 reputation mark for the Red Bull seat.

First at Monza, 2x 1st in a row and no contract offer from RBR :( even though I beat Vettel twice in a row... hopefully if I can make it 3 at Singapore and overtake him in the WDC they will offer me. Turned down a 7.5m offer from Sauber. Qualifying was in the rain which the AI seem to be shit at so I qualifyed pole, caused a bit of a pile up on the first corner and zoomed away, pitted before anyone else and came out 7th, then zoomed into first when everyone else needed to pit, ended up 8 seconds faster when I finished.

EDIT: 4th at Singapore from a 8th grid, convinced Webber and Button didn't pit either, Button won the race by 22 seconds and apparently built that lead up from 4 seconds when I went into the pit. Webber didn't pit at all yet Vettel pitted twice and he ended up 6th so I have beaten my rival 3 races in a row and nothing from Red Bull yet grr. 5 points behind him in the WDC, just turned down an 8m offer from Sauber.

Won at Hockenheim yesterday on Legendary AI. I like that track.

Promptly accepted my renewed contract offer from Virgin after the race. £6.5m and the number one driver spot for next season. Is it just my imagination or is the car actually getting loads quicker with the R & D stuff unlocking.

Oh yeah, that Race department F1 2010 set ups site is invaluable. Really helped my times now that the AI is racing as it should be.

I'm sure it can't be as easy as just beating Vettel in some races to take over his seat :p

12th on the grid in hockenheim, not bad but not as good as the last few races, had a nightmare at silverstone. started to rain and i tried to stay on the primes for too long, wont be making that mistake again

 I hope someone offers me a contract now as Lotus are sacking me! Pole in Yeongam, Vettel, Button and Alonso all finished under 13th, so that's 5x in a row I've beat my rival, 2nd in the WDC but Webber has already run away with it, I said in my podium interview that I was keeping my options open and now Lotus have said they are letting me go at the end of the season despite getting them to 4th in the constructors them being thrilled and very confident about me achieving the race objectives yet are firing me!

Bollocks to them, ungrateful arses.

It is though, that's what is meant to happen. If you beat your rival you are offered his seat... I've beat him 4 races in a row now.
It's rather too easy then if you can just pick a rival and beat him races and you take the seat. I hope it does not come too easily to me atleast. Not even sure I want Red Bull even though their interested in me. It might make it too easy. Or alternatively it might be time to move to legendary :nervous:
Pursuit, and neither can I  but i'll wait for that one as well, although Burnout Paradise was epic.

Shift was the first Need for Speed I haven't bought ever :( I just got so sick of the shit that it wasn't even worth it.
Yeah Pursuit sorry.
The trailers look good. Yet remember buying the original Hot Pursuit. Was a great great game at that time. Used to play it on my Windows 95
Oh and ya I've not bought any NFS after Most Wanted. They tend to suck a lot off late. Hope this is a massive improvement.

Silverstone was quite decent. i absolutely detest Suzuka, Japan. Horrid track. There is one corner where I almost always go on the gravel and that instantly spins you out. Almost lost my 3rd place to Schumi on the 2nd last corner but won it back right at the last corner after slightly nudgin him. Was afraid of getting a penalty.

I guess they were not too happy with you not accepting their offers. Which reminds me. I need to respond to their offer :nervous:

I've already rejected 3 offers and now their giving me 10m and the 1st driver spot. Have a feeling if I reject this I'll be sacked at the end of the year.

However I do have offers from Williams and Sauber.

Ah well people will still buy it. It's the most eagerly anticipated NFS in ages.

:D I just beat Vettel for a 6th time straight, Red Bull have just offered me a 10m contract booting Webber out and putting me as the second driver behind Vettel. I'd rather have Webber as a team mate but ah well.

They booted out the Championship leader?!

But well Vettel is younger so I guess they rather keep him. Wonder where Webber will move now.

Yeah... Webber finished the last race outside of a points finish, if I can take pole in Yas Marina in the last race and Webber fails to finish in the top 9 I win the WDC by 4 points, if he finishes 8th and I finish pole then it's a tie, if he finishes in the top 7 then he wins it. Wasn't expecting him to finish so low in the last race...

Atleast your in a position to challenge. I have around 150 pts but i'm still 80 points off the pace

Who has more wins between you 2?

I have no clue why they are trying to release it when they are, because people are not made of money. They are going up against GT5, COD:Black Ops, and Kinect.

Well I probably won't buy it until well after christmas so I can see your reasoning. Its as bad as that dodgy arse WRC game thats coming out. The developer was banging on about not being afraid of GT5 but its an absolute lie.

EA would be better of using Need for Speed to lead out into the new year. Its commercial suicide. Guys developing Test Drive Unlimited 2 and Driver realized this, yet EA hasn't.

F1 2010 came out just in time to not lose out that badly.

Well NFS might suffer in the console sales but it will certainly do well when it comes to PC sales :D

I for one will be buying it.

Season over now, disappointing 7th in the last race while Webber took pole. 2nd in the WDC;

Webber 299
Me 259
Alonso 244
Vettel 220
Hamilton 166
Button 137

4th in the constructors, racing for Red Bull next season, me and Vettel should do even better, don't know who Webber will drive for yet but I should claim the WDC next year if he doesn't go to a massively good team.

Ended up with 21 reputation, 19 Races, 4x pole grid positions, 10 podiums, 6x 1st place finishes. Next season here we go!
