F1 2010

Same here. If I get a really top car then time to shift the difficulty level.

The WDC not getting a ride?!

Yeah it's a bit strange... definitely putting the difficulty up after a pole in Bahrain by about 12 seconds this car is a beast on straights... really weird to see Webber not racing for another team, also a bit annoyed that the pit crew is the same, same geordie guy and same team... thought they would have changed it about a bit.

None of the other drivers will swap teams in career mode, you just replace one of the drivers in any team.

That sucks a bit...

ideas for 2011 for definite, actually show the podium celebrations, better interviews, other drivers transfer to different teams like you would expect and different pit crews and engineers for different teams and not just the same guys following you everywhere.

Safety cars as well and better time charts so we can see exactly how far ahead or behind someone is in relation to you.

Webber not driving anywhere is a strange one though.

What if you go on to replace Hamilton next at McLaren. Would he not move anywhere as well?

i dont see this happening ever due to licensing issues

Not quite sure how pissed I am right now.

Won the last race of the season to finish 4th with a bloody Torro Rosso on 230 points or so and Torro Rosso decide to let me go

I'd delayed signing a contract with me but they let me go! Now I had to sign for Sauber. Not too excited by that. Was hoping for Mercedes or even Renault at the very least.

Anyway good start to the season. Won the first race at Abu Dhabi. Aleagausauri or whatever his name is took my place at Rosso and finished 19th with Buemi finishing 17th

Their going to miss me. Clueless team.

Was a very strange podium. Me, Rosberg, Button with the WDC Webber in 16th, Vettel in 7th, Alonso in 5th and Hamilton in 8th.

Having a terrible time in Catalunya. Can't get anywhere near the times required for qualifying. Best I have got towards would be 19th. Lowest I have started on the previous 4 races was 12th. On this track I am a good 3 seconds off the pace, and I just can't find it - best time i have got is about 1:28, think i managed a 1:27 at one point(in a Lotus). Driving my nuts at this stage.

Disaster at the HUngarian GP last night. Was in 6th, several places ahead of my rival Rosberg when I came in for my regulation tyre change and crashed into the pit wall. Ended up finishing 16th.

Lesson learned - use the practice sessions to learn where the pit lane is. D'oh!

Haha I banged into a pit wall at Hungary too. Luckily it was just front wing damage but the extra time in the pits cost me 2 places

Try the lowest down-force setting in race engineer setup.

I did 1.22 with that.

Managed a 1:23 lap in the race itself, settled for 21st on the grid in qualy, just couldn't bring myself to try again.

Was flying in the first few laps and managed to get up to 4th - a disaster in the pit lane (part my fault, part game bug) had me come back out in 24th! Didn't get the breaks on pits that I would have liked after I came out and ended 9th, taking it on the final corner. Was happy enough.

Raced a few practice laps round Monaco. Predicting 24th in qualifying and the race. Dear lord i can't get a rythm on that track at all, bouncing off every freaking wall! Not liking it at all.

I have found the standard setup best for me so far on Monaco.

1.19 best lap, it is a bugger of a track but great fun. The first corner can gain you a lot of time if you take it in 4th, the corner after that at the top of the climb just gear down to 5th touch of the breaks. The first section I am quickest but lose out to the bigger guys on the next two sectors.

Just got the game today, started career with lotus on with the AI on professional, did ok on the first race and finished 10th, but on the 2nd race in australia for some reason the pit team never called me into the pits to refuel or anything, so i started 14th and finished 3rd, is that some sort of bug?

Never tried assists offline but I had them online to help with 'bumping'. As long as you don't go crazy on the brakes the game is not overly harsh on lock ups so you don't really need the abs.

Traction control I only find useful when people barge me off the road.

World Champion on Expert mode with the Toro Rosso, second season. I had Hamilton as my title rival too so I have ended up in the McLaren for the 3rd season, first race pole and a win by 40 seconds.

They definatly should alter the difficulty for the next game, perhaps have a level of difficulty just for wheel users.

The thing is, unless they change the whole structure of the game, I don't think they can.

I mean, as it stands the A.I reacts to the rain and tyre wear by dropping times, but as we now know, it's as a result of faking it. Can they change that within a year? Not with the people behind it.

As such we are going to get a Football Manager syndrome, more features to overshadow the flaws.

I have my doubts, this game clearly needs to be rebuilt from the bottom up and with an annual F1 license that simply isn't possible is it? I figure the 2011 version will be the same stuff with the bugs fixed from this year whilst cropping up with a whole batch more.

It'll be worse, because on the official forums (where they take their points from) the difference between 'bug' and 'flaw' are nil. Which means that many of the things that can be fixed within this software but yet are not really looked at, won't be.

Like the fuel/tyre syndrome.

Suzuka is a real bitch of a track. I've been taking the Ford GT around it for around an hour on a time trial. If you get one of the corners wrong, you feck it all up, literally. Lap times can vary +/- 5 seconds. It's actually far easier with the F1 car due to the grip it gives.

Would be interested to hear of experiences from this game on the track, especially as the real F1 season is there ATM.

Definatly more forgiving than the GT version, for example the first sector snake is pretty easy to navigate where as in GT is you go an inch off line it compromises you on the next corner. Degner one is spot on but then degner two seems abit too easy even when taking massive speed into it. The drive around Suzuka with the F2007 is much more a challenge in terms of lap time, this is just abit too forgiving.

I hate Suzuka. Was a horrible track. Not quite sure how I managed to end up in the top 7 on that.

Played after 3-4 days today. Did not realize my settings had gotten changed to short weekend so thinking Q1 is going on I put in 2 laps and then retired to the garage and accelrated time. Finished 13th before realizing there was no Q2 and Q3

Still managed to come 3rd though :D Top of the WDC right now. Through to Q3 at Sepang..just about.

What time are you doing?

If I get the chance tomorrow, I'll boot up Forza 2 and take a Ford GT around Suzuka (full track?) and see what occurs.

Suzuka is one of those circuits where you need to hit every apex right on cue to get a solid laptime. The first sector is probably one of the toughest around, degner one and two are killers if you come off the racing line.

I know all about that

Horrid race. Korea was pretty poor as well.

My best laps in the Ford GT 2006 are around 2:12. I've done some around 2:30 though!

I'm playing with a Dualshock BTW!

Hit a 2:21 on my first lap round. Problem with Forza 2 is that you're effectively driving on ice until you can set the car up properly, and since I don't have a career mode available to buy one and set it up, I'm stuck with the standard and I really don't think the car has this much lift off understeer in real life

2:12.984 on my seventh lap. I forgot how much more fun this game is! Bare in mind the centre of gravity in my GT is off. I need to get one in career mode and at least adjust the front ARB. I don't know why people don't like this track though, if you attack the first lot of corners and are gentle with the throttle, you can rip them.

I'll try it in a Ferrari on F1 during the week.

first season over, finished 4th and beat my rival Lewis Hamilton so i have now signed for Mclaren and I am partnering Jenson Button for the next season, nice:D

fecking hell, so i started my new season at mclaren first off the paddock looks great, the mclaren motorhome looks top notch. would love it if we could go into the motorhome in the next game for the stuff like the agent, next race, standings, helmet ect. instead of it just being there but its still good. but the car is incredible, the grip into the corners, the responsiveness of the brakes and steering. i mean you would expect it of course coming from a lotus into a mclaren but its just great that you can feel it instantly in the game.
