Everton 2017/2018 thread

Now I really hope they get relegated.:wenger:

I think a few Liverpool lads planned to walk the streets of Anfield with a coffin draped in an Everton flag. Immature ... better things to do myself but it was just meant to be a laugh. A few of Everton's lads response was to smash up pubs by Liverpool's ground.

I remember them been praised for doing good transfer business early, spending the Lukaku money before they got it was really shrewd, etc, just proves the point (if it were needed), that too much player turnover is a bad idea, and not relacing your striker is just ridiculous.

Hope they pull it together a little, as it'd be sad to see them go down.
Not sad sad though, it'd be sad like that very still moth you're looking at in a celing corner is actually dead.

They would of most likely ended up in them coffins as well.

The decision to appoint Sam Allardyce could be made this week.

Initially until the end of the season. Big Sam, the go-to rent-a-manager for clubs flirting with relegation.

The Everton fans must be delighted to have avoided the Moyes bullet.
But Big Sam.

It's like that scene in Saving Private Ryan were the man gets shot but his helmet saves him. Then he takes his helmet off and he gets shot and killed anyway.

''It never materialised as I thought it would, unfortunately," Allardyce told talkSPORT. "For me such a long time without a decision (meant) I had to make a decision myself.

"The decision was it was probably better it wasn't me, and I'd move on to something else. It would have been a fabulous job, but it just didn't feel right.

"I think when you're sat in my position you want people to be decisive and feel like they want you. I didn't get that feeling overall. They were hesitating that I was the man."

Quotes from Sam Allardyce ruling himself out of the running to replace Ronald Koeman.

Allardayce is just a short-term manager. Everton would show to be without ambition if they appointed him.

Breaking news Van Gaal shock favourite for the Everton job. I expect Rooney will be expecting an extended new contract if that happens.

I've had the misfortune of watching every game this season. I'd be utterly amazed if there's a worse side than us in the league. Palace completely dominated us. Almost 70% possession. Over twice as many passes completed. We committed the most fouls of any team in europes top 5 leagues

Honestly we haven't deserved to win a single game this season. Not sure we've even had a half where you'd say we were comfortably the better team.

It's a minor miracle we have the vast total of points we do have. Our performances probably deserve about 3 or 4 in total

Unsworth's six games in charge:

Chelsea 2:1 Everton
Leicester City 2:0 Everton
Lyon 3:0 Everton

Everton 3:2 Watford
Palace 2:2 Everton
Everton 1:5 Atalanta

They really need a permanent manager. 16 goals conceded in six games.

And the two games where they avoided losses you could argue that luck played a huge part in them getting points in those games as they were second best team all long.

I think they need a new defence. Their only good defender has been injured.

Baines, Williams and Jagielka are past it. Whilst Keane is crap.

Hard to believe that this lot beat City 4-0 less than a year ago. Could well see Everton make a panicky managerial appointment within a week.

When it comes to throwing £100m+ down the shitter they have outdone even us. What were they thinking in the summer buying all that rubbish.

Yep.

Both Allardyce and Pulis are available... they should just bite the bullet and go for Big Sam as they're in a relegation battle.

Maybe we (Saints) might get a point or 3 this Sunday then!
You should be disappointed if you don't get all three! Everton are genuinely awful.

They really are becoing a laughing stock.

Just got this off RAWK.

17,000 turn up to see Atlantas first European away win since 1991.

Apollo Limassol finished above them. A few stats above them.

They have three senior internationals
The club is worth 14 million
Theyve spent 23 k in two seasons
Have an average attendance of 2,669

And last but not least.

Their manager is a part time bus conductor.

But they said they'd go the game Rita .

He knows how to drive his teams forward unlike Everton managers.

If I was Marco Silva, I'd stay well clear of that club

A club in decline with no ending in sight, and spent absolute money on shite players who some people in the summer said were good signings...:wenger::wenger::wenger:

And they still have to play Liverpool twice this season....

Just seen their result. They need to appoint a proper manager and fast, wasting time chasing several managers around coming up to a busy fixture period.

And to think that this is the only team that has managed to take points off City this season

They get rid of Lukaku with no replacement in place...then sign Rooney.

They spend a shitload on midfielders who are really just bang average.

They alienate one of their better players though to be fair he was injured.

They sack their manager and after a month are struggling to get a replacement.

They feck up a really straughtforward EL group.

They really are a disgrace! Feck 'em! Ashley Williams is really getting hammered on Twitter!

Everton spent more in the transfer market last summer than Atalanta in the last decade.

Technically the guy in the film should have been dead anyway, helmets don't stop bullets. ;)

Even after a poor start I didn't think I'd be saying this but they are bang in trouble.

No goals
No pace out wide
Unbalanced midfield
No cover for Coleman who's constantly crocked
CB's have all aged and gone to shit

God knows how much money they actually have/are willing to part with in January but they still need some serious investment. It's gonna take a damn good manager to keep this shower of shite up otherwise.

My view is that they probably need another decent RB incase Coleman gets injured again, at least 1 but preferably 2 CB's at this rate (one of Jagielka or Williams needs to find some form otherwise), a Carrick-type in midfield (somebody who can distribute the ball and shield the back 4 and make interceptions, should have been Schneiderlin but he's now a pub league player), at least 1 but preferably two widemen with a bit of pace and directness (Bolasie coming back should help if he can find form quick) and a goalscorer.

So not a lot then...

I love how the British media have been arguing the case for Unsworth to get the job full-time, completely oblivious to the results they've been getting under his regime. Even today SSN had three ex-Evertonians including Kanchelskis pitching him for the job based on absolutely nothing.

Love to see what impact this result will have on that campaign now.

:nono: Material from Rawk only allowed to be posted in RAWK goes to the meltdown thread.

Erm... what ?

I did type it out and not cut and paste so it was original in its own way .

That's really grim. I bet you lot are loving it!

I can't see how the turn this around going into the Xmas period either you know. Cheeky bet to go down?

Where's all the Rooney talk??? an accomplished footballer starting games for us not that long ago..

Hope all those who defended Rooney are taking a good hard look at themselves.

We should also learn from this and get rid of average players

Ashley Williams has a pot belly and keeps getting picked. He must have naked pictures of the directors or something.
