Everton 2017/2018 thread

Hilarious how people got caught up in their spending spree. All their signings were overpriced and nowhere near top quality.

Liverpool fan's called it mate.

I think the only compliment was well done Everton for getting their buisness done early.

We seen it coming but not to such an extent.

They've had a mare. First time they ever splash loads of money and they look worse.

Buying Klaasen, Rooney & then Sigurdsson was so thick when they only needed one of them. Smashed loads of money and their best assets are still the two kids that came through the youth team.

Give the job to this man.

I'm sticking to my first post, I think their coaching is awful rather than the players.

Any semi intelligent fan of the game knew that Everton's scattergun approach to hoovering up average players would come back to haunt them.

Ironically this is what Liverpool were doing for many years as well.

.

Not all mate.

Collymore and Richard Keys napped them to finish above us .

Ohh. You said semi intelligence .

And Everton will only 'consider' him if and when they are staring the Championship in the face.
Quite like Everton but for shits and giggs boy it would be interesting to see them go down.

I think Keane and Pickford were good signings. Klaasen just hasn't settled but I have to assume he's better from what he did at Ajax (even though Dutch football is poor). Sig was over-priced for sure and getting him when Rooney and Klaasen were already there was crazy. I still think Everton will finish 7th though.

In a my career with Aston Villa on FM2017 they have been relegated in the first season

I got promoted and signed from them Barkley and Coleman

They are the longest standing team in the top flight. Although they stayed up on the last day in the early 90's under suspicicous circumstances.

I think it's .

Everton
Arsenal
Liverpool

For the most consecutive years in the top flight.

I think Arsenal have most consecutive but I could be wrong. Everton have the most overall.

I stand corrected . You are right.

Think I read it in the Shoot magazine in the late 70's which is a long time ago.

:D

I know it's old fashioned, but aren't managers supposed to apply for a job before they're offered it?

Their forum is a joy to read.

Guess the player:

And yet he provides their two best chances against Leicester. Their problem is this incarnation of Rooney can't be relied on at the top level, so these lads are right in what they say, but he is still putting in better performances than most of their other players.

Binning him off to get a bit of pace in the side would probably be a good move but it's alarming to see their senior pros cowering from the task at hand.

Big Sam might not be the worst option if it gets any worse. He kept that dog shit Sunderland side up, he'd definitely get this lot mid-table.

I said it before the start of the season, Klaassen is a decent player, at most. Everton would have never signed him if their manager wasn't Dutch. Similar to Classie at Southampton couple of years ago.

It certainly was.

I remember one called Goal too.

Please... don't get me going on the Panini footie stickers from tha era.
Yeah I was addicted to Panini. I never did finish my Mexico 86 album (showing my age now!)

Man, if Big Sam gets it I'll pss myself! My good mate is a Toffee and he'd be sick all over himself, he thought this season would be the year they blew peoples minds and finished top 4 possibly, playing good football under Koeman!

A funny comment by an Everton fan how he feels about the interest in Dyche:
Feels like 1:50am in a nightclub and your options are limited to fat birds. Its not pretty but it gets the desired results.

If Everton are in a relegation battle and hire Sam, I'd bet my money on him beating Liverpool while guiding them to safety. He always manages to get those wins.

Nah erased that from my memory mate ;)

Tee Hee.

That was the season United won the first ten games . The media proclaimed " Give it to them now "

Not sure where youse finished but Everton came second and I think West Ham third.

I remember that season very well. Mate, even though you lot were good back then, I miss them days. Football is shite now.

I agree . It is shite !

Did you go the semi's the year before ?

Absolutely mental that was. I've never seen anything like that ever . I know we still have bellends these days but at that game it seemed like half the ground was at it.

FA Cup semis?

Just so you all don't think Iam derailing the thread.

Everton are shit !

Nuno Santo is big in the frame apparently, I know hardly anything about him but he's doing a grand job with Wolves at the moment.
