Everton 2017/2018 thread

No; they spent most of the 1950s in Div 2, and came back up in 1962. I’m sure Everton are second to Arsenal, followed by Liverpool, then us

We came back up in 61/62 and won the league in 63/64.

Wow...well at least they have loads of central attacking midfielders.

Liverpool fans will surely want Everton to stay up? It's a guaranteed 6 points most seasons.

Everton got to do something quicly to try and turn this around. They are incredibly bad.

Wow, to think that these were 7th last year, and miles ahead of Southampton in 8th.

Dismantled by an average team, they need a manager in and fast.

I'm amazed really. I thought their spending spree was getting a bit overrated but I never thought they'd do this badly.

I know Rooney ain't all that, but why didn't they sub him on when they were chasing the game? Could hardly do worse.

Only Swansea are maybe worse than them. Wow. Everton are relegation fodder.

They look pathetic. Worse defense in the league.

They are in Big Sam/Pulis levels of panic.

Next game could not be more important. West Ham at home, relegation six pointer.

The whole vibe around the club and team is one of a relegated team, Everton fans need to be extremely worried as I don't see where their goals are coming from at ALL. Like, nowhere in that squad is someone capable of banging them in between now and May, and their defence is shockingly bad too.

Have they played Liverpool yet? I can see Liverpool putting 7 or 8 past that defence and I'm not exaggerating. Southampton are dreadful this season, they can't score for love nor money and they tonked 4 past Pickford!

Michael Keane is looking well out of his depth, though he could probably use a more vocal partner at CB. I bet it's a hard transition, coming from a drilled and well-organized Burnley defence where everyone knows their role to a scatterbrain team playing next to car crashes like Ashley Williams.

Southampton had scored 3 goals from open play all season before today. They could have had 6 or 7 today

We are genuinely shocking. Look like 1 of them teams who end the season on about 14pts. It's a miracle we've done so well

Do you reckon a new manager will be in charge soon? And who as I haven't really followed Everton that much.

Who knows moshiri has a bit of a poor Man City about him. He won't take no for an answer. Led to us spending half a window chasing a very average Sigurdsson and paying double what we should ever have considered and the other half chasing giroud and ending up with no one. Paid way over the top for Keane with 1 year left on his contract and the same with Pickford from a relegated side

We are now into the 6th week of chasing silva. I think it might have been allardyce but I think a combination of him wanting longer than this season and the fans not being keen put paid to that (though it's got so bad a lot of fans are a little less against it)

I just think moshiri is too eager to please and doesn't know enough about football

He wants simeone and to sign Sanchez from Arsenal. We seem to have lost all sense of realistic targets, time sensitivity and value for money

Maybe dyche now. Though surely he'd think twice it's gotten so bad

Think we are caught between kenwrights romantic nonsense and moshiris ambitious nonsense

On top of that we've got Walsh as director of football who I don't think has been allowed to do his job. Koeman signed a lot of the players and now the board want to pick the manager

Personally I'd be happy with allardyce for a couple of years. I think he's a very underrated manager. Who knows though. There's been 4 odds on favourites in the betting and all 4 have been over 20/1 at a time too. Martin O Neil was favourite yesterday which just seems to ridiculous to be true

@Gareth williams, I think you need to do something pretty soon and try to reverse the downward spiral or else you could be in real danger.

It would be hilarious if Rooney joined them and they got relegated the same season.

Not that I think they will though, too good squad for that.

We look like a side that will get cut adrift rather than could be in danger

As bad as we were today we were no better against palace or Watford (until their keeper got injured) Brighton completely outplayed us until they gave away a daft penalty in injury time. City had a man wrongly sent off. Genuinely we should be on about 4 or 5 points now.
I obviously didn't watch a lot of Sunderland last season but I can't imagine their performances were worse than this. West Ham will dominate us on Wednesday. It's a near certainty that they'll completely outplay us. Just hoping we can fluke a result

Need unsworth out. He's picking some regardless of their dreadful form and has completely cut lose the likes of sandro, klassen, vlasic and now rooney even though they could be potentially better. Don't rate rooney in the slightest. Didn't want him back. I'm not having he's not better than Calvin Lewis though who's career will be spent in the lower leagues

No player would annoy me more than Ashley Williams if I was an Everton fan, he has been horrible this season, and just has one of those faces.

Much as it's entertaining to watch them struggle so badly, I wouldn't want to see them go down.

Moyes would be so smug if he won that.

West Ham have been genuinely shit in the two games he managed them in so far, but even Moyes can get a result against this Everton side.

So i think we will be treated to his dehydrated ball bag face rictus grin plastered over the back pages come the next day.

Unsworth is having a laugh if he thinks he should get a chance, awful. Why would any professional want to take advice from a sumo?

Got to post this by a lad on a Liverpool forum because it's priceless, :wenger::D

One of the bluenose on the moan in, came up with the stat that every team which has conceded 28 or more goals in 13 games has been relegated.

They're rotten from the top down, Dame Edna Kenwright has stashed all the money in dodgy offshore accounts and hedge funds.
The new sugar daddy turns out to be a stooge for someone who owns about 30 % of Arsenal.
Breaking premiership rules the new stadium will go on hold and won't be built if they go down.
They haven't had a manager for 5 weeks, 5 feckin weeks and no one on the horizon.
The caretaker manager has fallen out with the senior players in the squad.
They've spunked 100 odd million (isn't it 150m ?) on a load of shite and only 15,000 of the WE GO THE GAME boys turned up for their last home game (plus 2,000 away fans).

And to make it even better, not that it can get much better, 6 months ago they were all walking around thinking they were god's gift to football, their time had come, the blue renaissance, they had money to spend, they were building a new state of the art 60,000 seater stadium. They were going to be European Royalty, rubbing shoulders with the likes of Barca .... but instead it will be Blackburn and Villa.

Ralf Rangnick won't be replacing Ronald Koeman after signing a new four year deal with RB Leipzig. I don't know enough about Rangnink to know if Everton has dodged a bullet or not but goodness knows who they're going to turn to.

They clearly want a PL proven manager. Unless it’s someone like Tuchel or Simeone. They seem to be linked with Dyche, Big Sam and Silva.
