Got to love how many people around social media I'm seeing vow to be done with their club if this happens.

Yeah right!
The overreactions are hilarious, no one has any clue how this will ultimately impact the PL and yet it’s the end of football .

Well goodbye then united.
Has been a largely happy 45 years, but sincerely, go feck yourself. You money grabbing greedy cnut.

According to the Juve statement, the founding clubs each have to put in 2m euros for an equal share of the holding company. That means you could get four entries for the price of one Bebe

Why would leaving a UEFA tournament mean docking of points by the FA ?
I know they are all together in opposing this.. but I dont see how the FA can dock premier league points because clubs dont want to play a mid week european tournament organized by UEFA..

UEFA can kick the clubs out of their competition.. so that would leave PSG as the CL winners.. Good for them.

The structure is pyramidal, FA's are affiliated to the UEFA who is itself affiliated to FIFA. The clubs in questions are in breach of FIFA and UEFA schedules by organizing an independent competition. FA's have to sanction those clubs if FIFA or UEFA require it, the only way to avoid it is with CAS but that's after being sanctioned.

Looks like they want this to end amicably & I’m 100% sure this ESL will go ahead, discussions will go on between now and August and a deal will be made. There’s too much money to lose for the Prem to deduct the big six points or take them out of cup competitions. This is going to happen whether the fans like it or not. Let’s be honest, we’re all going to watch anyway.

Going forward, the Founding Clubs look forward to holding discussions with UEFA and FIFA to work together in partnership to deliver the best outcomes for the new League and for football as a whole.

Corresponding women's league to be launched to help advancement and development of women's game
United's official statement revealed something massive about the women's game:

Women's football will undergo massive changes, too, by the looks of things.

Will be very interesting to see how this unfolds. No domestic football pretty much would kill it for me, sad day for football.
Lots of talk on twitter that all those clubs will be suspended from premier League next season. Whether this actually happens is anyone's guess but you gotta think it's possible.

All out civil war in football. Wheres tony stark and captain america when you need them?

Sky Italia: UEFA announces every club and player participating will be banned from all competitions at both European and international level

The UEFA and FIFA meltdown is delicious, they had it coming for years.

Kinda reminds me of Kery Pecker in Cricket, opposed by everyone but ultimately changed cricket forever. I guess Change is inevitable, even in Football!

I think that cricket needed it though. There was a closed club and even until T20 the game was run in many ways as it had been in the 19th century. Even with the latest World Cup "reforms" the ICC is moving in the opposite direction to FIFA and the football World Cup. Plus there is already money in football and cricket needs to find new ways to fund the domestic and first class games. County teams generally run at a deficit.

Who was part of this think tank that allowed this to happen? You fecking urchins.

I can't believe this is actually happening. I think it'll all come down to which side the FAs fall to. If they impose bans from PL/La Liga/Serie A for participating in the ESL, I can't see the clubs going forward. This is a disgusting, concentrated effort to battle UEFA for more money. The like of Perez and Glazer being in charge tells you all that you need to know.
They are ready to go forward, I don't think that will matter.
I am more interested by the Spanish clubs like Real or Barcelona, can they really do that without the approval of their socios? I hope not.
For the UK, my hope is that the government changes the legislation for good and decides that this is an attempt to hurt national interests and therefore, a change in ownership is being forced through a forced sale for that reason.

But none of the PL kicking them out will really matter to those clubs if they decided to join that SL.

Okay but then they need to follow through on their shithousery

I want fireworks before and after every match, dancing girls, the players walking through the tunnel onto the pitch with cash confetti everywhere etc

What a fecking mess.

We finally look like we've gotten our act together and we're on our way back to being a good team again and we go and do this.

Facing being fecking relegated so a load of Billionaires can get even richer.

It's sickening.
Well said - I’m packing in Manchester United FC. I liked this side - Bruno and Pogba clicking, Cavani. Shaw, Harry, Henderson. Greenwood getting back his form. What a shame. Fyck off Glazers

So teams like Arsenal can just pack it in every year knowing they will always get into European competition? An absolute joke and takes so much from the domestic league, when the big clubs don't have to worry about a top 4 finish.

I'm seriously considering packing it in, it's being a fan of a hedge fund at this point. Results don't matter anymore, it's just a business.
