It's not as if threatening to cancel my season ticket will make any difference, as they only need some cnut in Singapore to stream the game via PPV to make my little stand moot. Feck off Glazers, you soulless, corporate fecks.

Wow.. this actually happened..
feck top 4 then.. play the kids..

Spurs and Arsenal getting in is hilarious after the season they have had..

The announcement doesn´t say anything about relegations or a second division.
Would those solidarity payments be money that they would invest in the national leagues?

Lyrics for the Super League anthem have been released:

They are the best teams
They are the super teams
The main event

The master
The best
The super teams
The champions

I do not think german clubs can enter unless the members (supporters) vote in favor:

The 50+1 rule guards against this. In short, it means that clubs – and, by extension, the fans - hold a majority of their own voting rights. Under German Football League [DFL] rules, football clubs will not be allowed to play in the Bundesliga if commercial investors have more than a 49 percent stake. In essence, this means that private investors cannot take over clubs and potentially push through measures that prioritise profit over the wishes of supporters. The ruling simultaneously protects against reckless owners and safeguards the democratic customs of German clubs.

I honestly feel it's pointless watching us now, especially the EL.

No, not necessarily. The NHL for example has a draft age that precedes college, and the vast majority of its draftees are out of the Canadian Major Junior Leagues or Europe.

I agree an entry draft on the NA model seems a feature that would be hard for a SL to adopt. But you could imagine for example a system where you have a draft to distribute the rights to players in non-SL clubs, but with the possibility to sign young players below a certain age for development in your own system. Combined with putting player movement between SL clubs on trade basis rather than for cash.
MLS has already solved this problem, and I won't be surprised if the ESL eventually follows suit. Basically MLS allows clubs to gain first dibs on players who don't or haven't played in MLS, haven't previously registered for their SuperDraft, or aren't U.S./Canadian national team players (includes underage sides).

The Champions League restructuring plans were absolutely naff and a death knell to a great competition but I’m still not onboard with this Super League stunt.

Greed. Greed. Greed.

Im not fecking leaving until Spurs do, cnuts. feck off -- you don't deserve this.

Any guesses on who the next three automatic spots will go to?

Are they hoping PSG and Bayern get twitchy and want to jump aboard now the heavy lifting is done?

Yup if I had to guess, Bayern, Dortmund and PSG.

I didn't expect an annoucement. The aftermath is going to be fun.
I mean they put out that they expect to work with UEFA and FIFA. This is going to be bad... I am not sure if the ESL revised its position based on what UEFA and FIFA said, or if they just decided they were not that "dangerous".

Probably not the best image to parody. The IPL is arguably the most entertaining tournament in sports right now, and it wasn't formed on the back of destroying any existing structure.
Not the thread for it, but it ended up destroying competitive international cricket IMO. AB retiring from international cricket to prolong his IPL paydays, it’s akin to Messi and Ronaldo retiring from international cricket to play in a super league...
