European Super League

Do you want the ESL to happen?

So, no master plan, just arrogant rich idiots who were so detached from reality that they thought they could get this through. Would be funny if it didn't confirm how far away those people have moved from the actual fans.

Nonsense to knock on Henderson and the other Liverpool players. Liverpool are still in the ESL as things stand and it takes courage for the players to speak up that clearly. Strong statement.

Ban them all!

 well played sir

I would have gladly taken relegation down as many leagues as was imposed rather than play in a competition with no consequences or merit. I wish we hadn't been the ones leading it, as long as the Glazers are here we are forever tarnished and far removed from the traditions and values of the club. I just hope this speeds up their exit.

Whelp, how come so many supported this shit ?

But I'm actually more disappointed with the posters who passionately were defending this idea during last 2 ideas

Yeah, all the players that have stood up are legends. Especially considering the likes of Raiola and the agents associations apparently were in favour of this new league.

UEFA quick to remind us that they're almost as disgusting as the wannabe ESL founders:

Aleksandar Ceferin, the president of Uefa, has had this to say on City’s withdrawal from the Super League project:

I am delighted to welcome City back to the European football family. They have shown great intelligence in listening to the many voices - most notably their fans - that have spelled out the vital benefits that the current system has for the whole of European football. As I said at the Uefa Congress, it takes courage to admit a mistake but I have never doubted that they had the ability and common sense to make that decision. City are a real asset for the game and I am delighted to be working with them for a better future for the European game.

Explains why Pogba, Mr Instagram, has been conspicuously quiet.

3 week ban and start over with 0 likes sounds like a good punishment

Do we really have to name and shame people because they share a different opinion?

Also, your alert inbox might just break the internet before the end of the night.

Agreed, great to see the statement. (no fan of the mouth breather, I promise)

Come on, give over. Earlier today you were saying it was unrealistic this monstrosity wasn't going to happen.

It's very feasible that the government can mandate the sale of a portion of the club - 20,30 or 50% over a number of years.

Also, the PL can adopt some new rules where a minimum of X% is owned by the fans. Certainly enough for a board seat, so the fans are never kept in the dark ever again.

United is a plc, fans can buy shares , compulsory purchase would have to apply to all clubs, not just United, what do you get for a minor shareholding, a place at the AGM, not involved in the day to day running.

Give them taglines of "Shame. Shame. Shame."

So City are officially withdrawing. Chelsea probably waiting till after their game.

Wish our players/club would release something to say 'We ain't in no more'

Utter shambles...glad Ed has gone, but can Dubai please buy us?

I voted "YES" for the ESL because:

2. Transfer market. Imagine trading Bruno Fernandes for Harry Kane. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I think that is what us younger fans want to see. Shocking and exciting transfers. Changing team dynamics, etc

I think the ESL can provide an outstanding product. I will probably receive backlash for this post. But this is my geniune opinion, and I cannot wait for football to be exciting again. I want to be emotionally invested week in and week out, and that can only happen if the best players in terms of skills and branding are pitted against each other.

Sorry us old farts got in the way
