On what grounds will the 14 actually kick them out? They dont want to participate in CL and want to play in their own league. Other 14 are free to play in CL organised by UEFA. Nothing is changed in domestic league. If they try to kick out, courts will overrule them and most of the litigation will actually end up on these 14 clubs.

If you still want to be invested in a football club then grass roots is the way to go. I get as much pleasure watching my son play U12s as any Utd game, so I’ll go with that.

Every club concerned is complicit. If they weren't aware of how big a backlash this would cause they're either woefully ignorant of the feeling of fans and of the wider footballing community, or they just don't care.

I will probably carry on watching football on TV, just not United. Maybe all the players should put in transfer requests or see if their contracts are now binding. They have been pretty average for the last 15 years though. Historically a much bigger club of course but still a tier below the others in that group, having not won EC/CL in their history (I know City haven't either but they are obscenely rich of course).

I'm no admirer of UEFA and I thought their plans for the CL were stupid and they clearly didn't address what the big clubs/markets needed. They did indeed forget who is paying for the party. That said, this SL concept is far worse.
A glorified invitation cup calling itself Super and looking enviously at the global gaming market to replace actual fans? And hat if they actually did pull this off - dragged a few more teams into the mire with them - how sustainable is that?
In reality, a whole bunch of the biggest names in football would have nothing to play for by Christmas. Without the novelty value (which is after all, all this is about) Spurs v AC Milan wont mean much, with these structures quite rapidly we'll reach the same point with United v Real Madrid. Initially it'll sounds like the clasico on steroids - play these matches all the time and they're just games. They won't even have the novelty value of playing a Leeds or a Burnley and being pushed to the wire by a local rival who "you should beat".
I don't see the attraction as a matchgoer and season ticket holder. The clubs don't care about their legacy fans? Fair enough, I'll save my money and not care then.

Having the so called top 20 clubs( whom ever they may be) doesn’t guarantee exciting matches. With no relegation or promotion it will just become like the MLB or NFL where if you’re bottom and shite so be it, there’ll just be an overhaul of staff and players and support for you to get major players the following season.

Well a lot of clubs hit the wall in how much they can increase their income so I understand why they want this (Italian clubs and Barca once they lose Messi) but clearly this is from Perez + US owners of PL clubs who have different ideas about sports. And to some extent I can't blame them. They need £600m income for £15m profit. That's absolutely ridiculous but maybe instead they should have worked towards wages limit because let's be honest 95% of players are idiots, no chance they could get a job where they earn even 2-3% of their current wages.
I doubt that as it seems Woody and the Glaziers are apparently running the show. United pulls out and it’s all over, so yeah I hope they do.

What happened to all the talk of kicking us out? Why offer the clubs a way back? Could it be, that without Real, Barca, United, Liverpool and Juve, your product (let’s be real that’s what the CL and EL are to UEFA) is worthless to TV and sponsors?
This is the same gutless UEFA that’s allowed City and PSG to circumvent FFP with ease and showed the world that in court, they couldn’t even enforce their own rules.

I would highly doubt they would be sending reserve teams out, they dont do that in the champions league so why would they start in its replacement? The Super League would not be happy with that, as it would have an affect on the money coming in, so that would simply not happen. The goals for the players would be the same as they are when participating in the champions league, to win the competition. Teams and players are not suddenly going to not care or not want to win the league just because they are in a new european competition. The league will be just as important as ever. Teams that are not founder teams will want a piece of the pie if this does go ahead, so will do all they can on the field to qualify. People seem to skip past the fact that there are open spots for teams to qualify and participate in this competition.
Personally, I think if this does go ahead, we will see some rework to the openness of the competition to appease fans.
