I could actually see the Lesser 14 forcing the issue by voting to remove the Super Six if they proceed with the idea and all other avenues have been exhausted. Yes the Super Six have the league by the b@llocks in terms of income and hold most of the financial cards, but the Lesser 14 also know that the top six want to remain in domestic competition and that public opinion is also firmly in their favour, including the fanbases and players from the Super Six themselves most critically. For those clubs to carry on with the proposals and no longer be part of the PL pits Liverpool fans directly against FSG, Utd fans against the Glazers, Arsenal fans against Kroenke and so on...significantly moreso than eve before. Civil war with their fanbases is not what the Super Six will want. Massive game of high stakes poker and the risks are obvious, but I for one wouldn‘t be shocked to see it.

It's an existential threat to a lot of clubs, so why not threaten to blow the whole thing up? I think it's exactly the right call for them to make, if the clubs and associations start backing off and looking for compromises then all they're doing is handing even more power to these bastards. Either there's a line drawn in the sand now, or a lot of English clubs are finished.

That would mainly mean lower transfer fees and lower wages, which would be a great thing. Ticket prices could be reduced and TV companies wouldn't be able to charge as much for games.

What's more the Super League clubs would all be playing weakened teams in the league, wanting their best players ready for midweek European games. The league would become like the Carling Cup to the 'big six'.

We mustn't think we are indispensable and can therefore do whatever we like without consequences. The breakaway clubs have taken the nuclear option, which could mean everything is destroyed.

If the clubs press ahead with this disgraceful idea, we will all deserve everything we get. We all, together, have to stop the Super League.

I think they will come to some compromise otherwise the PL will turn into the Championship and the current PL clubs have massive financial commitments which they would not be able to meet if the TV companies pulled the plug. Relegated teams I believe have £100m parachute payments at present, if all that disappeared there could be a lot of clubs going to the wall.

Yes. It’s absolute nonsense to think PSG paying 360m for two fecking players hasn’t inflated the market. That PSG and City offering Messi a blank cheque hasn’t inflated his wages. It’s also total hypocritical nonsense to think it’s equitable and fair to allow state funded clubs to spend whatever the feck they want whilst saying to traditional clubs you have to share your media revenue equally. You either enforce FFP or open up media revenues to traditional clubs allowing them to compete. Otherwise you get the clusterfeck situation football now finds itself in.
