those matches will be 100% packed and viewership will be sky high, don't be fooled by the like-mindedness of the CAF.

I'm going to complain about it until the first whistle of the first game, from that point I will watch it with passion.

If this goes ahead, any tw*t that goes to Old Trafford to watch a Super League match should take a long, hard look at themselves. They will be no different to the Glazers in my eyes and just as involved in destroying football.

I'm absolutely ready to jack it all in and disconnect from football completely. Who the hell would want to watch this? A league where clubs are guaranteed obscene amounts with no threat of relegation. It's absolutely appalling, a hijack of European football.
I’d very much like to watch this

Will you pay to watch it? I know I certainly won’t and any supporters I’ve spoken to have said the same.

You and me won't. However I know pretty well ton of casual fans worldwide won't give a shit and will just want to enjoy some football regardless of all the problems surrounding this system. Don't depend on fans, believe me, you'll be disappointed.

As much as I oppose this move, after everything settle down, many fans will be back supporting their respective clubs.

Imagine they can watch on weekly basic entertaining games eg. Man Utd vs Barca, Man Utd vs Real Madrid, Man Utd vs Juventus, Man Utd vs Liverpool and etc while also competing in EPL (if FA didn't ban them).

It will be much more interesting than the system now in Champions League. But this will essentially kill European football.

Which is?
Loudest voices are never the majority when it comes to consumption and leisure. They will sign up for the streams, they will will pile into the stadia when they reopen and there will be new generations of fans replacing the old if they defect, which they mostly won't because it's still the same game, only with the best teams.

People do not care about the smaller teams. They are not the bedrock as some would like to believe. They're just dressing to sell the main dish.

If attendances drop significantly, the franchise will be moved to Tokyo.

People will say they will never watch it, but I'm sure with all that star power, fans and most importantly marketing budget, ESL will be something big.

Eventually many will.
When some fans start watching and talking and all news channels and papers who are well paid by them constantly throw scores, highlights and news, when apps on the phones start pushing notifications/ads about the event, people will eventually want to check it out and adjust to the new reality.

Well that's the problem... after a few seasons of watching United repeatedly play Barca or Juve it gets boring quickly.

Too much of anything is bad they say.

Yeah exactly. People on here and Twitter arent the majority, or anywhere close to it. They are just the most engaged.

Make it happen. I don't care about all these outrages and crying from UEFA, PL, Sky etc who are crying because they see loss in revenue and hiding behind fake morality and tradition.

As for fans as a whole, almost every new thing whether they'd turn out good or bad have usually always been met with outrage. If this SL works out people will be on board.
There is no doubt ESL most likely will be a better and more entertaining product than the CL (until you reach later knockout stages) because group stages are a complete borefest and the new format will make it even worse. If you are a supporter of one of those clubs that will participate in ESL and you don't care about the rest, you will definitely be able to enjoy more high quality football and be happy about it. But if you look at the bigger picture, there will be a massive problem with national leagues. Now teams have goals to finish in TOP 4, TOP 6 or whatever to get into Europe for that extra money. To do so you have to invest into the squad. What happens when the ESL becomes a real thing? Teams that are not fighting for the title will stop giving a shite about the league in January as it doesn't matter where you finish, 2nd or 12th and most likely rotate teams because ESL will be a priority with more money involved there. The quality of EPL will inevitably go down as it will very likely become a secondary trophy. The gap between the rich and the rest will become bigger than ever and it's definitely not healthy for football.

It was inevitable to happen because FIFA/UEFA are blatantly corrupt failures and I think many people would support a new competition if it had a proper promotion/relegation system in place, so basically any club would be able to join if they do well. As it stands, it completely kills the need to be competitive, you can be absolutely useless like Arsenal and still rake in your £300m by participating. Absolute joke.

Would be in favour of that, despite us having our best season for a while.
Totally. We and the largely the Glazers should held accountable for this farce. I understand wanting bigger slice of the pie but to completely bastardise the sport we love is a fecking step too far.

I don’t think the fans organisations of Liverpool putting banners up outside their ground or the other fans organisations of teams are off the caf

I think most of the outrage is pointless. There is one way to boycott this, and if fans of football despise the idea, the idea will fail. This all came because of UEFA bs to dilute UCL quality with teams that are not even in Europe. Feedback from biggest teams was not accepted and now they formed this thing. Super League will not succeed just with casual fans watching it/supporting it.

There is more to this than just biggest teams going for a money grab. Let's not be naive.

Ohhhh what can I say to make the fans think I love them and understand them today? This little routine of his gets very boring very quickly. You chose to move to PSG mate, there’s no moral high ground.

I was ranting about this yesterday but I feel less concerned that this will happen having seen the actual announced plans, the whole thing looks fecking amateurish. They have a preferred start date but it's flexible, they seem to have no plan for what the criteria for these 5 invitees would be, the 3 additional "founding" members are going to be less glamorous clubs then was being mentioned before (i.e. no Bayern Munich), they've tacked on some half-arsed thoughts about the women's game and the whole branding is absolutely shit.

Do you think it would make any difference to Liverpool if 50,000 fans boycotted all games? No of course not. There would be 50,000 to fill their space in a second...

Aren’t we currently in a league where there is obscene amounts of money with no threat of relegation?

No clearly we could get relegated, but perhaps more to the point it's very easy to drop out of the top 4 and drop out of the CL. This super league idea by-passes that idea, the fact is you dont really have to be competitive in it you will still get the money and if we are getting the money however we perform you think the glazers will dip into there pockets much for new players? I doubt it why would they? We could finish bottom of the super league but we would still be in it the next season and still get the obscene amount of money from it.

They have designed there own cash cow that they can milk whenever and however they want without having to invest a huge amount every year to stay competitive. Absolute scandal.

Watching United in 10th play Inter in 12th with neither team able to be relegated or win anything doesn't sound terribly exciting to me. And you will VERY quickly see matches like that, games against Spurs, Arsenal, Athletico etc. lose their glamour and be the kind of games fans skip.

When City have won this thing for 5 seasons in a row at least we can say we're part of the spectacle though yeah.

They cannot do that, they don´t have the authority apparently.
Many lawyers have shown examples of federations trying to ban players and others from participating in unrecognized competitions.

You could bet your ass that these clubs have looked into each scenario.

because we're all bored of watching united play pretty much the same teams in the league every year right?
