Good point. SA signs players people are interested in and want to watch. But probably the only fans who are still liking Sancho are Dortmund's, and they are the type of people who would absolutely despise the SA league.

Spot in Stephan mate, that’s the long and short of it.

SA fans must really love Telles.

Interesting article in The Athletic bringing up Dele Ali and his recent interview as possibly being relevant to Sancho’s situation. Namely, until we know what “mental health” issues Sancho has/had how can anyone judge and label him?

Some may think that's a rant but it's accurate.

Ten Hag is doing miracles trying to renew the squad during all of this.

He's trimmed the squad now with only Maguire and VdB left that he probably wants out asap.

If there was to be new owners he'd be in a position to build out the squad further and have 2 good players in each position.

Missing ingredient is the sale.

100% agree

what he did in coming out to contradict the gaffer WOULD NEVER have stood with Fergie...he'd cut him off at the knees and he would never play for the club again. EtH has been more than generous with his patience for Sancho and his lack of professionalism when it comes to training...FFS he gave the guy a 2 month window to sort out his head in Holland.

Time to cut bait on this kid and attach Martial to him.

Based on what we do know, Ten Hag gave him huge support last season. It’s fair to assume that hasn’t been reciprocated.

Sancho isn't a star player like others but Ronaldo said he was a slave at United and Rooney issued a statement slagging off the club, neither were cut off from the club. The idea that SAF was a axing players left right and centre for each misdemeanor is grossly exaggerating how he was. He had his ruthlessness but also managed situations in a more pragmatic manner than you're suggesting.

Imagine if this was Mourinho throwing his players under the bus in public...

Where was anyone thrown under the bus? Sancho was shite in training and wasn't selected. ETH gave a sugarcoated version to the press. What was he supposed to do lie and say Sancho was ill? Guy gave Sancho 3 months last year to go get his head straight and train on his own and it did nothing. I don't blame ETH for being over it especially now after Sancho immediately came out with the "i'm a victim" statement. ETH was just trying to get him used to being out of the team for when Amad returns.

Wouldn't mind the manager playing tough with Sancho if he would do the same with Athony. But his name is against the Anthony signing so he will persist.

Antony might not match his transfer fee but he puts in a shift defensively every time and he routinely finds himself open as an outlet for an attack, Sancho has been here how long and doesn't offer any of that.

You can see him going to SA for a fat pay check?
Well it’s a nice thought but, even if the cost isn’t an issue to SA clubs, why would they want a player who’s done nothing on the world stage, who’s once golden potential turned to dog poo and who can’t even be arsed to work hard in training and earn a place on the substitutes bench ahead of academy kids?

Must add that I wholly support TH in managing the problem.
IMO Sancho ought to be mindful that TH has dealt ruthlessly with massive players who thought they were bigger that the club - and the only thing massive about Sancho (apart from the chip on his shoulder) is his silly salary.
They signed players like Ighalo and Neves who have done nothing, so why not Sancho?

Pellistri has shown as much of not more for United in his brief time on the pitch than Sancho has in 80 games.

This situation wouldn’t have happened under SAF as (1) we didn’t go ahead and quadruple a players wages to £350kpw from the start, so we could just sell him if he was out of line, and (2) SAF was an incredible believer in character/mentality. Could you imagine Tony V pulling a strop like Sancho? More to the point, could you imagine the current United administration even signing a player like Tony V?

In fact I’ll go out and say it - gimme a team of Tony Vs any day over this soap opera BS.

He’s owed a testimonial btw, United better make good on that quick.

And then look at AWB, he was really given the treatment by fans and the press, he knuckled down, worked his arse off without so much as a whinge and it looks like he’s deservedly getting a new contract. For me the issue is players (even Medicare players) now are getting ridiculous salaries when they have achieved nothing, and they use their status for social media and their “brand” unlike my day (sorry to say it) we had YTS and apprenticeship, where players earned their right of passage, this generation aren’t hungry as they already have the good life given to them first with the work to follow……..rant out from the grumpy veteran.

The club should offer him out to the SPL, you’d get £40 - £50m for him and another problem gone

Its not really a competition. They'll either both win or both lose.
Theres very few positive outcomes for Sancho from here. Becoming an important first team player here is pretty much the only one. He can move and go back to Dortmund or an Italian club or maybe Aston Villa or something but them options wont be available for long and they'll all involve a drastic wage cut - he'll be doing well to pick up a 1/3rd of his wage here. Alternatively he can keep his wage, sit on the bench for 3 (?) years and struggle to get a contract from a freshly promoted team at the end of it when he's hitting his expected peak.
Try fight your way back into the team. If the manager genuinely doesn't fancy you and it isn't happening you'll know by January and its time to move on for your own benefit.
Ten Hag is looking for a reaction. It doesn't really cost him anything to throw it out there that he isn't enamoured with Sancho. He's his highest paid player by a fair margin, if he isn't playing him every week he isn't going to be happy.

It was pretty weak I thought, painting out Ten Hag to be a monster despite him having gone out of his way to make special accommodations for Sancho last season.

I mean - we can literally apply this to every single player (performing or not). Fair enough we shouldn't jump to judge someone's behind-the-scenes situation, but of course we can judge his performances, and then tentatively link it to an interpretation of the player's mentality.

Nothing makes a problem go away like a charismatic scotsman sitting a crowded press conference going: The boy's had his head turned. You know that club was General Francos club, and you can still see that today.

The man knew how to make the story all about himself instead of the club or player. A genius at handling the press.

People seem to just remember the bits they liked about Fergie or the things that fit conveniently with the way they want the current manager to handle a situation.

A hell of a lot has changed since he was in charge. If Ten Hag kicked a boot at Sancho's head after a poor training session, for example, he'd probably be forced to resign.

They signed players like Ighalo and Neves who have done nothing, so why not Sancho?

Yo to The Mitcher.
Well as I see it, it’s because they need a mix of very highly paid big names and we’ll paid grafters.
Big names like Ronaldo, who has every trick in the book and can pull out a bit of magic now and then but who doesn’t do the running thing anymore, and grafters like Ighalo or Neves or whoever to do the hard work that they require to allow the big names to flourish.
They want grafters who’re serious professionals who’ll be effective and work their socks off.

Sancho is neither a big name, (he ‘had’ promise but he’s done nowt and won nowt) nor is he a grafter who’ll put in the hard yards . .
He’s also already on a £million a month hanging out with his mates and living the life of Riley so why would he want to live in a Sandy hot place miles from what he knows?
Anyhow, why would even an SA club sign him on a £million a month when so many seriously respected top quality footballers would jump at a chance to sign a 4 year contract to work in SA for less than Sancho gets paid (to chill out on home turf with his entourage), and they’d also do a better job of it than he could ever do?
It just doesn’t make sense to me, but it is a nice thought though.

The greatest manager of all time would prob be up on an assault charge now if he managed Sancho. Sanchos form has been terrible. Now it looks like he’s terrible attitude etc etc. Time for both sides to move on. The January window is his best bet to move on. ETH has shown excellent man management skills in his time here in very difficult circumstances. His purchase of Mount and Antony are questionable though for sure. Sir Alex got a few signings wrong to remember. One of his big ones initially was a disaster if anyone can remember Jim L.
Or just quietly fecked him off like pep did

Edit - I’m fully on board with eth here.
What he says goes

ETH answered a question.

If he said there was an injury and then Southgate decided to pick him for England or Sancho decided to contradict it surely ETH looks worse. ETH answered the question honestly and Sancho has made it into a drama.

Normally I'd say there's no way Southgate would pick him for England just to make our manager look bad but the way everyone is having a pop at the club right now it wouldn't surprise me.

Must be fuming, if he’d kept his mouth shut for another 25 minutes he’d have been grand to start on that right wing indefinitely.

This is not true, Rooney for example when he publicly tried to leave and questioned signings and ambition.

There is debate who is the greatest of all time between Sir Alex and Pep. For me it has and always will be Sir Alex nevertheless if you believe it is Pep he jettisoned Sancho because of his poor attitude and lack of desire to succeed at City.

I believe Sir Alex would have done exactly the same, as he did with players who had attitude problems like Morrison and even Pogba who he wasn’t that sad to see go.

Somehow our recruitment team decided to ignore this history and his behaviour with England and sign him anyway because he was a hype name and looked good on YouTube.

There has been something severely wrong with our personality profiling in our recruitment. This is something that Sir Alex got right more often that not. Does the player have the personality and desire to play for United?

ETH at least is trying to sign players with a genuine desire to represent this club. Whatever you think of all his signings I can’t think of a single one whose attitude you could question. The vast majority of Ole’s signings for the example contributed to the toxic culture apart from maybe Bruno and AWB.
Absolutely spot on. Remember how Wenger used to sign more talented players for Arsenal, but United won more trophies due to players having the right personality and desire to win trophies. The likes of O' Shea, Fletcher and Park were essential to support the superstars of Rooney, Ronaldo, Ferdinand, Vidic etc. SAF knew exactly what was needed. Give ETH time to get his own squad and we will be right up there again.

We’ll need him to play RW if Antony gets suspended. Who knows it could be his making if he’s given a consistent run in the team.

When is Amad projected to return?

Surprisingly poor emotional intelligence from ten Haag to not foresee that Sancho might react like this.
The boy should be less emotional. He is not paid 360 k pounds a week to be a drama queen but to produce on the pitch. He should just feck off. I am sick of his attitude. He is sh*t anyway.

Guys is an absolute loser.

He's been nothing but trash since he arrived, he's been unfit and the team even put on a special coaching package for him back in Holland during the world cup.

He just isn't it, a bluffer, a mirage, a perfect modern day, FIFA generation footballer, £80m and £350k pw for a player who can't play a pass at the right weight, complete 90mins or create anything of note during a game.

Get rid.
Welcome to Manchester. The Disney Land of soccer, sorry, football !

I have never been bothered by a player's arrogance or attitude. Sancho is undoubtedly a skilled player, but ETH lost one of their players at the start of the season for unspecified reasons. It's unacceptable, no matter how you view it, it reflects poor man-management and squad-management. For what reason does he have to say "he is that bad to be left" publicly?
Except that's not what Ten Hag said. He just said Sancho hasn't been selected based on what Ten Hag saw in training. That doesn't mean Sancho isn't good enough, or has a bad attitude, or anything else. From what you're saying, it looks like you're re-phrasing the whole thing just to be able to criticize Ten Hag.

From the presser all I came away with was that others performed better in training so picked ahead of Sancho.
So I find this entire "scapegoat" and training properly statement weird and disrespectful to his team-mates who are doing the necessary in training.

You highlighted the key difference. They were amongst the best, if not already the best players in the world.

I think it's worth looking past just Fergie, look what Pep did with Cancelo, a much better player than Sancho has ever been.

I'd be fine if he never played for the club again.

His statement is a disgrace and he should be ashamed of himself.
Youre totally right, problem we dont know what will happen with Antony and Amad is injured without return date. That leaves us only with Pellistri or maybe moving Mount, Rashford or Garnacho there.

i think pellistri and garnacho perhaps could make it work for a month or so, but would be def less than ideal. If sancho is smart he would take the dumbass post down since that RW spot could easily be his in the near future.
