Erik ten Hag | Currently unemployed

In some ways I hope they sell some first team players to raise more funds. We need a overhaul.
henderson -25million.
rashford -60 million
Maguire - 40 million
Bailey - 20 million
Awb - 25million
Matic - 5 million
mata - 3 million
Jones - 2 million

180 million + 120million budget would give us 300 million to reinvest in squad. I’d even sell DDG if anyone would take his wages.
That could add more on to the total.

plus the money saved on Pogba, lingard, Cavani wages would free up room for that.

Of course this won’t happen though, but we have to be ruthless this summer, if their not good enough for united now, see ya.

We're fecking garbage at selling players so can we just accept that 99% of the squad will be here next year?

It’s laughable, some amount of bed wetters in here. Biggest club in the world, with a £150m yearly budget, is now unattractive to top managers?
Not that I don’t agree with the overall sentiment but I’m curious where you get that “yearly” budget from? Your arse?

Not only that, it’s truly unrealistic to expect us to be able to sell 15-20 players as some seem to think. There are not enough hours in the day to not only sell them all but also sign replacements, considering we don’t even have our FT manager yet

Rashford won't get that because he's been massively out of form for over 18 months and in the summer he'll only have a year left on his contract.

James, Maguire, Wan Bissaka

Ronaldo, Sancho, Varane.

Not counting January transfers, so naw, not my arse!

Announce him ffs!

Let the fill process of interviewing candidates play out. This is the same emotional reaction that gave us Solskjaer for three seasons when the club should've waited before signing him after that PSG win

After going thru so many managers in such a short time, Ten Hag's appointment will be quite tricky. Obviously instant success is now long overdue. So what will be his KPI? What will he be expected to achieve and within what time framework? What will be the lowest bar below which he will be sacked? How much patience will the club, especially the fans, have with him?

I think he’ll get the time he needs aslong as the players are fighting hard for him, he finishes top 4 and he competes in the trophies with some good cup runs. Our players have a habit of giving up playing for managers they don’t like which causes bad form to happen and then managers bein sacked.

A significant number of fans won't have any patience with him at all.

But that goes for any possible candidate.

Will have plenty of patience with him because believe in time and with the players to hit his system that he can get to a tier ahead of Conte/Simeone but obviously below the top two of course,

Forum is absolutely dominated by fans who actually seem to hate the club and are totally miserable having to support them.

You would think we were a clown club with zero prestige and zero pull.

Despite being proven wrong every single year they will continue to insist that we are some clowns that nobody would want to be a part of.

Think much of that comes from those clowns over the managers head who have overseen a dreadful last 9 years

Reminds me of can't buy players not being in the champs League, but near sure we have managed that any time we haven't qualified.

Hard to get past the exposure of the club regardless of on the pitch performance.

I know that doesn't mean trophies, but we no Micky mouse club.

As I say the self loathing is mad

Has Pep ever said how long he wants to keep going at City? According to TM his contract ends in 2023 and as far as the football is concerned ten Hag seems like a really good match as his successor. It's hard to come up with a better candidate.

I think he actually said he wanted to move on pretty soon didn’t give a date, don’t know how much of that was true or just Pep in one of his moods.

Could see Luis Enrique as an alternative after him also.

Not really. No top player would choose to join us given the number of much more attractive alternatives and with good reason as well. It's not like anyone else was fighting us to acquire the services of Jadon Sancho.

That’s because he only wanted to come to us. Look at Haaland, the only clubs mentioned are those he wants to go to.

Will be hard for them go for the manager of Manchester United.

Yep. I think it behooves the club to be patient and go through this rigourous process. I have my misgivings about how the club has been run, and I hope Arnold is changing that, however they need to make a good decision here and taking time to make sure that they've sounded out the options and see what they think is the best prospect is important. There are people out there literally saying that this process is weird and it's being done to appear like the club are taking their time. Maybe they actually are taking their time and covering all the bases because they know this decision is pretty important.

You’re still hypothesising though. There is little to no evidence of this. And Jadon Sancho isn’t the only player we have signed since we have been rubbish.

I fully agree. I believe they're some who are excited about the reports of Ten Hag's interview going well and feel the club should appoint him immediately. It's like going to the polls and asking for the count to stop when your candidate is 'in the lead'. The club should absolutely speak to all candidates

I mean we quite openly are interviewing multiple candidates, why would he be surprised not to be given an offer. OR OOOOOR it’s a bullshit report.
Probably they didn't discuss the contract specifics at all. That's what must have puzzled him if true.

It was probably something along the lines: "please tell us about yourself. Thank you, we will communicate later our decision about you. Thank you"

Or it probably was nothing like that, either way that report from Mullock smells of bullshit.

If it’s true about ten Hag saying he doesn’t care about money he just wants time. And to develop the squad we already have rather then build through just transfers then he’s the guy we should absolutely be going for.

I bet in reality hes not stunned, and is likely accepting of a perfectly normal process that is not easy to accelerate when a season is still going on.

This is where newspapers mix the info they have with saucy exaggeration to get more retweets.
