Disagree the manager by his own admission highlighted the need to win pre season fixtures.
In the post match CS interview he stated as much as it being a trophy lost.
Bottom line is the team lost games the manager intended to solely win and now on the basis of todays game looks like the trend has continued.
Pre season objectively is not that important but coming off one of the worst seasons in the club's recent history alongside the managers general struggles with how the team has played throughout his tenure it changes the dynamic significantly.
He sees Bruno bust his guts to square what should have been the winner to Garnacho. Subs him. Next 20 minutes we do nothing. Would love to know the thinking behind it.

Two games in a row the De Ligt for Maguire sub has done nothing but destabilize the team in the most critical period.

Can anyone defend him? Started without a striker when he didn't have to, played Rashford when he's been terrible for months, and starts Maguire when we have better CBs on the bench. But if I have a negative opinion on ETH they'll start a new thread and say this one has gotten out of hand.
Happens every fecking game. There’s never sustained control and pressure, we shoot our wad early with manic pressing and then by the 70th minute resort to hyper direct end to end stuff in a roll of the dice to win it.
