In just a couple of months Arne Slot has got Liverpool playing decent football with a recognisable style despite inherinting a poor squad and buying no one meanwhile after 2 years and 700m of new players Erik still hasnt implemented any kind of recognisable style and cant even get us to play good Football against Fulham and Brigthon.

I think he needed a stepping stone before a big move, ie Spurs should've taken him.

What on earth are you talking about? Which part of that Liverpool squad is poor?

Watching chelsea score 6, Arsenal with their "statement" win, Haaland scoring hatrick for city, and Spurs winning by a big margin has left me feeling proper sad. After an exciting couple of weeks for a united fan, seeing the big wigs look competent again, it's back down to earth after the Brighton loss. I've taken a better look at the last two games in terms of analysing the performances and I must say. Nothings changed. We're obviously a little bit more compact but we're going to be as we have a few specialists that have been added to the squad but I really think nothing will change this season. On Arsenal, I always think you won't win the league with a player like Jesus as your main striker. I feel exactly the same about Hojlund. I actually don't know what we're going to do this season. Finishing outside of the top 4 is looking very likely.

I still think the biggest reason he's still here is the cost (of sacking and replacing him). If we were as loaded as we used to be he'd be under more pressure.

You keep saying this yet the club literally interviewed other candidates during the summer.

Most of their best players are in their 30's and the last year of their contract, other than VVD is their only decent CB, their RWB cant defend, they have no DM's and their midfield is made up of people like Jones, Mac Allister and Szaboszlai who are bang average, and and their number 9 Nunez is useless.

I think his remaining tenure is the reality of us still being in a transition. The midfield and striker situations need to get fixed before we're close to challenging for top honours. I suspect INEOS decided they could ride out another year with Ten Hag before they inevitably sack him next year and replace him with somebody else. Getting a new manager in this season with our squad still having glaring deficiencies just wouldn't have been ideal. They knew it.

Obviously that means we're going to see a lot of the same issues that plagued us last year. Over the course of the season I expect some progress but nothing amazing because none of our signings have been amazing.

Watching the Chelsea match right now and find it hard to believe any manager who watched both Madueke and Antony in the same league would decide the latter is worth more than three times than the former.

Antony is worst signing since Fergie left and easily very high up on the all time list as well

The amount of hate Antony gets on here from his own fans is unjustified, Pogba was arguably a much worse signing as well.
Pogba who was in the PL team of the season? Hardly. Certainly not a good overall signing but at least he had successful periods here. Antony has been rubbish.

He out-Spursed Spurs by bottling a 3 goal lead with 30 minutes left against them in a CL semi tie. They didn't want to touch him with a bargepole.

One of the worst signings in our history and every time I look at him I think what we could have done with that money if INEOS were here earlier

The high risk, fast transition style he wants to play is not suited to the PL where even the bottom teams have enough quality to take you apart if you give them enough chances.

I am done with blaming EtH. We now have a structure where the game model is to be developed by Dan Ashworth, Jason Wilcox and the rest. If we do not improve the style of play by the end of the season, then they are answerable. If EtH is not executing it well then they need to fire him. Ultimately, they are accountable for the on-field failures.

Antony did well in his first season but had a bad season last season partly because his head wasnt in it due to things that were happening in his personal life.

You did well to make so many bad points in 1 sentence.

And we went for the cheapest option.

Wasn't there stories Tuchel wasn't happy with the budget he would be working with.

I still doubt he is in INEOS long-term plans for the club. We know they spoke to other managers and they have replaced his entire backroom staff. We just have to be patient, going to take a few years to reverse Glazer apathy for the club. Be a lot of ups and downs this season again I expect but it's not entirely on the manager.

Diabolical take

How? Mourinho never wanted Pogba and he cost us 90m after he previously left us for only 500k then turned out to be a dud who was more interested in his hair style and social media accounts than playing Football and went on to leave us again for free returning to Juventus where he was also a dud.

Posts like this kind of highlight how dim the knowledge of football amongst our fans is. A very stupid post.
Pogba cost about the same with that knobhead but was once our top scorer and contributed tons of assists, goals and playmaking.

I am just hoping you are having a bad day or inherently hate Pogba and this is not coming from a logical mind

Oh, you're actually serious? I thought you were joking.
