I read hes coming straight after thevseason ends in holland and spending 3-4 weeks working at utd, then 2week hol then back to work fully. Now thats a great start by any remit.

That one was 100% moyes without a doubt. But you could argue that’s because they failed to sign who he actually wanted, didn’t he want like Thiago but the club failed so he panicked and just rushed into a signing in the last minutes of deadline day.

our first two signings post-Fergie were Fellaini and Mata, which is absolute mental when you think about it

Main point is that the post Fergie managers absolutely have been given players they wanted. Some of them are very obvious.
Moyes and Fellaini. LvG with Depay, Di Maria and Blind. Mourinho with Matic and I'd say Pogba.
They are just the very obvious one's, I'm guessing they also wanted a bunch of the others signed. I remember Jose praising the club for getting Sanchez.
The same will happen for ETH. I like the idea of the manager getting final say. We just need a manager who is crystal clear on what type of player he wants and then rigidly sticks to it.

You couldn't find two players more unsuited to playing with each other. Should never be in the same team.
And that's carried on since. Signing Lukaku when we've wide players who don't want to cross a ball etc.
Every manager does this from time to time. Fergie and Berbatov. Pep and Mendy. Players who just don't fit that managers typical blueprint.
But we've become experts at it. It's almost like we've purposely tried to jam together players who don't suit playing together.

What? Fergie was the one that wanted Thiago, he tried to get him from Barcelonas academy years earlier and he had him lined up the summer he retired, Moyes didn’t agree on the club proceeding without him scouting him first, because he wanted to make sure he was the right player for him.
ETH will live or die ( metaphorically !) by the recruitment at the club. Getting rid of Woodward and his mini-me Judge has got to be a big boost though. The knee jerk signings , inflated contracts to 'preserve value' and the whole 'we can only work on one transfer at a time' small time nonsense is hopefully in the past. The biggest hole in the side is midfield and I think we should concentrate on up to 3 new signings there this summer to at least be competitive there. Looking forward to the summer window to be honest with my muppet T shirt.

I think that’s what we’re all hoping for mate. We need someone to be ruthless and clear out these absolute jokers. My only reservation is that previous managers have tried to do the same and been fired after boardroom decisions were made to keep certain players like Martial over the manager.
I really hope things improve but the proof will be in the pudding around January I reckon. It’s all dependant on how many bodies we clear this summer and how many we bring in.

Same goes for Rashford and Pogba.

Think the fans end up the biggest problem, we have to ignore the s**t stirring media for a start. There will be a lot of ups and down and fans have to realise it. This is going to take time and the club have to specify this to the media.

his first job is get rid of a lot of players and somehow fashion a “team” together to follow instructions and the systems coached. Our first expectation should be to see proper progress, not just in terms of results but in terms of what we see on the pitch, effort, working for the collective purpose.
THEN if we’re seeing that we can turn our hopes to progress in competitions. I’m certainly not going to deem him a failure or expect too much from first season which is ground zero for me. There’s nothing left of the club fergie built. It’s a huge job
