I dreamt that ten Hag and some of the boys were visiting me last night. I impressed upon him the need to stick with Amad.

At this point he’s most likely to stay. If they wanted him gone it would have been done already. Just assume he’s staying and go about your week.
You are naïve if you think deals aren't already being brokered by clubs, will not be long before they start actually announcing, transfer window is just for registering player, you can sign them whenever, it is not just players in we need to worry about we need to shift some players out, the manager we have and the style they use will have an influence on this.
I don't understand this idea that ETH will need to be given a new contract, I mean if it is announced he is staying it would be a joke IMO but to reward him with a contract extension would be more ridiculous that the man's tactics! there is no need to give a new contract unless at least part way through the year if it is going to happen, we have all seen the stuff about how much it would cost to sack ETH, why would INEOS seek to increase this whilst his future even if he does stay has to be very tenuous based on how we start the season!
The world we live in may be crazy? one thing for sure it is about perception and image, right now INEOS and Man Utd by extension are not looking great in the public eye, more than any other club we rely on selling our image, damaging our image is something which worries me
That was tastless doing it right after the win. And honestly, no manager would be successful with the injuries of the important first team players throughout the season.

I have to believe they are just sorting out his compensation and replacement properly before announcing it, because this would be absurd if he ended up staying now.
Go back have a look at posts at the end of all the tenure's, it was always, worst ever season, worst united team. I remember post Ole under Rangnick people saying we've hit rock bottom.
Come to think of it, the decision that will have the least meltdown would be Ten Hag staying because they couldn’t secure their number one target, Southgate

There's a tweet quoting 'sbates people' just now saying that Ten Hag is likely to stay but Southgate is the strongest alternative. Go on, send everyone crazy please

Steve Mclaren's dad had a round of golf with my dad in York this afternoon and, according to him, Ten Hag and his coaching staff have been asked to resign but they're not budging.
Also, less interesting news - Steve is planning to retire very soon anyway to spend more time playing golf.
My dad and his new 88 year old mate are planning on having another round of golf this weekend. More (hearsay) updates to follow.

It’s quite usual that one outlet, let’s say ‘Media A’, releases something like ‘based on a source it appears that Claim 1 is a fact.’ And then various other media outlet’s publish the story ‘based on a story in Media A, it could seem that Claim 1 is a fact. If so …. (bla,bla,bla endless hypothetical speculations). Then Media A continues with a follow up: ‘If endless speculations are true, we have confirmed that the allegations about Claim 1 seem to be well-founded’. Etc etc etc.
It often turns out that Claim 1 is a bit imprecise, somewhat off the mark, completely off the mark or wildly off the mark.

Good luck trying to sell Southgate to United fans. If it was a choice between the two 90% of fans would stick with EtH and i honestly don't think that would change if he won the Euros.

Blowing off two more seasons would be a catastrophe for a club our size. I really think people underestimate the ramifications of it.

I think if he was staying we would have announced it sooner. We have probably got a replacement lined up etc. now and it’ll be a quick changeover once we announce he’s leaving.

No I'm simply posing a hypothetical that could see us wasting another 2 years and be in the exact same position we are now. Ten Hag himself says the goal next season is top 4 which is quite possible. As is another season like this one.
It's based on his perfromances in his time at United to be fair. This season he clearly didn't learn despite his new system not working for the best part of 9 months. There was no reason he couldn't be adaptable when the Glazers were the sole owners last season.
It is my opinion, and I can't imagine there was anything going on behind the scenes that would have prevented him from changing the teams tactics. That is a decision well within his job description after all.
Agreed. I’m very much ETH out but Southgate should be nowhere near the running for the United job unless and until he has returned to club football and shown himself to be a top quality manager. I’ll regard him as a highly successful England manager if he wins the Euros but I still wouldn’t want him to jump straight to the United job.

I am absolutely positive that there was no conjecture to his stories at all, as Mclaren's dad also reliably informed my dad that Stevo wasn't allowed to have much influence on United's tactics until... (you guessed it) 3 games ago. My response to this seemingly airtight information was "Oh I'm sure his son had no say whatsoever in the 7-0 at Anfield but was responsible for masterminding the win over City". Good thing I'm too shit at golf to ruin my dad's new friendship with Mclaren Sr.
