They posted a picture of the trophies 6 days ago. You're reading far too much into nothing. They've got the timing all wrong if that's just the case then.

Genuine question here..It's disrespectful if the club are about to sack the manager, while gloating about the trophy that he just won for the club.
Not really surprising though because the club lacked class with the timing of Van Gaal being sacked.
You would expect so as they are the ones handling the clubs public image.Genuine question here..
Do you think the person/people who posted it have any idea whether United are going to sack their manager or not?
They've known for weeks, the only reason the announcement is delayed is because they're having so much fun reading this thread.Genuine question here..

I think it's more that being a former player of the club doesn't really add much. If they're competent they'll perform like any competent manager who isn't a former player, if they're bad they'll perform like any bad manager who isn't a former player, etc.Didn't Xavi win the league?
Hasn't Arteta done well at Arsenal?
What? Barcelona literally won the league title under Xavi in 22/23 what you on about? That is a new trend. That seems to be about hiring the "students of Pep", which everyone seem to be trying these days. Much like we saw with "students of Fergie" for a few years.
Xavi did not win the league, he won the cup andBarca have been no where near Real Madrid - multiple reasons for that, but Xavi has been no more successful than your average Barca manager. Arteta has not won anything since the first half season in charge, but what he is building is entertaining and intriguing. Even if it were to work out for Arteta in the end, that does not mean that it works for everyone else.

Unless you are Zizou, in which case logic no longer matters.I think it's more that being a former player of the club doesn't really add much. If they're competent they'll perform like any competent manager who isn't a former player, if they're bad they'll perform like any bad manager who isn't a former player, etc.
I was wrong. I hold my hands up, my brain did that thing where it produced a false memory, and I was too lazy to check. I will do better. What? Barcelona literally won the league title under Xavi in 22/23 what you on about?
Agreed. Saying it doesn't work is the same as me saying hiring proven managers doesnt work because Manutd didn't do much when they hired LVG or Jose.I think it's more that being a former player of the club doesn't really add much. If they're competent they'll perform like any competent manager who isn't a former player, if they're bad they'll perform like any bad manager who isn't a former player, etc.
The players won the trophy too and for many of them their future is uncertain as well. We should really stop being so attached to managers and stop being obsessed with "showing class". Nobody who had anything to do with updating the honours board knows anything about the manager situation. It's disrespectful if the club are about to sack the manager, while gloating about the trophy that he just won for the club.
Not really surprising though because the club lacked class with the timing of Van Gaal being sacked.
What is more important to you? That United "shows class" or that United wins stuff? I'm really curious now. It's disrespectful if the club are about to sack the manager, while gloating about the trophy that he just won for the club.
Not really surprising though because the club lacked class with the timing of Van Gaal being sacked.
Both. They're not mutually exclusive. What is more important to you? That United "shows class" or that United wins stuff? I'm really curious now.
How do you know?Nobody who had anything to do with updating the honours board knows anything about the manager situation.
Thanks. That explains your position a bit better.Both. They're not mutually exclusive.
In a way he does, but what if it doesn't work, is he the wrong manager or are people going to blame the setup even though it is a new setup. Most of united fans came back to their senses and want him to stay, everybody is sick of the managerial rollercoaster, the manager deserves to work in the right setup.
Surely we can win stuff with class. That would be the ideal scenario. What is more important to you? That United "shows class" or that United wins stuff? I'm really curious now.
Check out Columbo over here.Because they have only literally updated the honours board.
True, but I wouldn't rate those two things on the same level. If there either can be a ruthless way to get something done to get more successful, or a classy way that might endanger success (like keeping a manager to long just because wanting to get the sacking "right"/"classy"), I would always want my club to act ruthless. But it's a fair opinion to shift that balance other than I would, it just makes it better understandable what someone like @The holy trinity 68 writes when you know there is a difference in this basic question.Surely we can win stuff with class. That would be the ideal scenario.
We won it. The club. There's nothing disrespectful about it at all. They are just telling us that they have updated the honours board. Nothing to get rattled about. It's disrespectful if the club are about to sack the manager, while gloating about the trophy that he just won for the club.

We didn't win it, manager won it. The fecking players let him down but he still won it. It is his trophy and his only.We won it. The club. There's nothing disrespectful about it at all. They are just telling us that they have updated the honours board. Nothing to get rattled about.
Some people love reading too much into things.Check out Columbo over here.
Wow, really!!Its just a mess created by INEOS.
They should rightly be criticised for this it’s becoming a mess. It was 2 weeks since the story broke of ETH getting fired regardless of the FA cup result yet here we areWow, really!!
INEOS, heroes to villains in less than six months. At this rate the Glazers will be back in charge of football before the season starts.
Yes it is a mess.Wow, really!!

To those drawing lines wto Arteta and Klopp.
Becoming 8th in your second season doesn't make you Arteta or Klopp.
Trying to make having a terrible second season a good thing by drawing parallells to Arteta/Klopp is desperate at best and it doen't make sense.
ETH hasn't left his fingerprint on the way we play or want to play and it's impossible to see on the pitch what he is trying to do in a positive way. The last 12 months he's only taken us down, down, down.... Our play has been horrendous, nothing short of it. His ingame tactics and subs has been among the worst I've ever seen. His transfers has been from ok to terrible. He lacks charisma. There is no such thing as being unlucky with injuries, especially muscullar and stress injuries, that is down to training regime. His man management seems to me to be really bad.
With Arteta and Klopp you could see on the pitch what they were trying to build, you could immediately see the managers fingerprint on the pitch. Not the case with ETH at Man United.
What is he building? I just can't see it. If it is an Eredivisie team, then I can see it.
Sorry cannot agree... the season was the worst in the PL true, (but not the worst ever) we were missing some of our best defenders for virtually all the season, this affected the whole team especially it just showed up the weakness in midfield. The manager struggled to retain his approach, but in the end changed the play book, we won the FA cup and are back in Europe. They should rightly be criticised for this it’s becoming a mess. It was 2 weeks since the story broke of ETH getting fired regardless of the FA cup result yet here we are
Just because a story broke in the media doesn’t make it true though does it. I pay zero attention nowadays because the media focus on United because they know it sells. Sometimes to the point of making shit up because there’s nothing else to talk about. They should rightly be criticised for this it’s becoming a mess. True but it was a huge story that wasn’t denied to the point of the question was being asked of the manager multiple times on live TV. Again it’s been weeks if it was bollocks they could have released a statement or even let the press know off the recordJust because a story broke in the media doesn’t make it true though does it. Great post this.I forced myself to watch the games at times this season, but I still believe that we should stick with ETH. There isn't a miracle worker who can turn us around in a season. You can have good spells that paint over the cracks in the club's current state, but sooner or later, these cracks will show again, and you'll find yourself asking the same questions.
My biggest hope lies with INEOS, that they make the right decisions and bring the club back on track. If they decide to change the coaching setup, that's fine with me, but I really believe ETH is a good coach with the right principles.
If his man management is too strict for some of the players, perfect, because I am sick of some of the crybabies we have in our current squad (if you believe the leaks)
There's this girl that I like who picks her kid up at the school. When I see her there, my stomach gets queasy, my heart pumps and my palms sweat. But when I think about things with pure logic and try to ignore natural sexual desires, she's just another human who probably has hairs near her anus and has turd floating around in her rectum while I'm looking at her and shaking with excitement. When I think with logic about the way humans behave and react to things it seems so madSome of you are really clinging to absolutely nothing.
It will happen when it happens. The Euros starts next week. This is a nice period in which Man Utd can't let you down with a disappointing performance or result - just enjoy the summer.
We were up 3-0 after 70 minutes. Coventry should have won?!?We deserved to win the final in my opinion, but we were extremely lucky to get there. Coventry should have won
Yes. That's exactly why it's right to criticize INEOS by now. We are now in the most crucial time of the year for the management team and it doesn't even properly exist. During the season the manager is in focus because he needs to get the squad he has to perform twice a week. But now is the time where the squad (and supporting staff like the manager) has to be built, signed, sold, sacked. And those whose job it is to do all this are still under contract elsewhere. They might get lucky late in the transfer window, but so far to me it looks like INEOS messed up this summer.INEOS does not have it's new management team in place as yet, the manager has only one more year to run on his contract, the ridiculousness of firing him after the FA cup win in such circumstances, is obvious.
