I keep hearing this, it's not an argument for keeping him.The problem is who takes over in the interim? All of the coaching staff are his picks, and we know he's terrible at recruitment.

Nonsense. Just sack him, no sane person does this.Gotta dangle the carrot in front of him - give him hope to keep his job. Once FA Cup is over, heads will roll, accountability will be had.
Just exaggerating This thread does that a lot to be fair. It’s pretty strong on either side of the in/out question.
I for one am very happy that Premier League is finally over.
Sack him before a Cup final?Nonsense. Just sack him, no sane person does this.
Here's a very good article that dives into the injury impact without focusing solely on absolute number of injuries. From the Athletic.Feel free to show otherwise
Oh yeh there is definitely exaggerating, but I just don't think there has been any really since the game ended in here today, just basically stating it's been a poor season which it has.Just exaggerating This thread does that a lot to be fair. It’s very clarifying you call out both sides - one being Man Utd fans who want accountability for the results from a manager and the other side supporting the manager primarily and prefer not holding him accountable because of endless hypotheticals around how he can get us to magical land where he gets us to play incredibly progressive football as long as he has 25 players in his squad fit.Im against childish name calling on both sides. It's not hard to call immature posters out.
You're delusional mate, embarrassed yourself all season.Fine margins. Every reason to expect that had our injuries not been so bad we could have got 4th.
Oh well! at least he didn't sign off with the worst points total in the premier league era- that one is still on Ralf/Ole, a mere three seasons ago. Worst place finish and a negative goal difference is an achievement though .
The drop from 3rd to 8th is pretty horrendous but it's not been drastically inconsistent with the general pattern in the post SAF years. I will say his most recent interview with Neville at least provided some context for why he changed the set up for this season and I can understand it, but it was a bad call and he'll pay for it. Hope the next manager can break the cycle.
I’m hoping we don’t start it with ETH as manager.I'm just glad the season is now over. I just hope we're not starting next season with Southgate as manager.
So you would take Southgate?I’m hoping we don’t start it with ETH as manager.
There are a lot of fans, including myself, who have held him accountable for various defeats and even named a subset of games. It didn't stop certain posters being childish and calling names all the same. It’s very clarifying you call out both sides - one being Man Utd fans who want accountability for the results from a manager and the other side supporting the manager primarily and prefer not holding him accountable because of endless hypotheticals around how he can get us to magical land where he gets us to play incredibly progressive football as long as he has 25 players in his squad fit.
You’re all fecking bonkers
No wonder this club has gone to shit.
I can’t tell if this is sarcasm.Ah… that’s it! To challenge for the league, we just need to have the lowest number of injuries!!! We should buy a bunch of Bruno’s who never get hurt, then we’d win the league. Priority #1: durable players.
You call using the term “fanboys” childish and extremists but then yourself mention that criticism of him has included blaming him for global warming, which no one has done. And that’s not childish or extremist? There are a lot of fans, including myself, who have held him accountable for various defeats and even named a subset of games. For example if I state he's accountable and sackable on the basis of Bournemouth, Palace, West Ham, Chelsea, etc etc. but at the same time say the games vs Arsenal and Newcastle were better - I'm a c*ultist and a fanboy. There are a subset on the side that want ten hag out, who are extremists and post as though they want to blame him for everything including but not limited to global warming. That's where it goes too far.

Thanks pal. You're delusional mate, embarrassed yourself all season.
Doesn't change much, he is still getting sacked after the FA Cup final. Maybe somehow winning it, and the chances of that are infinitesimally small, could grant him a stay of execution by INEOS. But 8th place and a negative GD? An embarrassing Champions League campaign? Genuinely awful football? I'm sure he tried his best, but that just doesn't cut it. It's time for a change.
If he survives by some miracle, and I don't believe he will, he should be banned from recruitment.
I have not name called or belittled unless I've been the victim of it (I'm human after all). There has been posts calling me names after I just suggested some players might not have only been a Ten Hag pursuit, or a loss was maybe not down to tactics. My expression on how posters will attach any blame on Ten Hag irrespective of context isn't really the same as people calling an entire school of thought names, or the manager names like idiot, fraud, cnut, etc. It's pretty despicable to be frank. You call using the term “fanboys” childish and extremists but then yourself mention that criticism of him has included blaming him for global warming, which no one has done. Threw it away against Chelsea, fumbled a smash and grab at Brentford, points dropped v Burnley and FulhamSo 9 more points would have gotten us 4th.
I definitely believe the injuries we’ve suffered have cost us at least 9 (3 wins).
Just glad the PL season is over. 2-0 win over De Zerbi’s Brighton just highlights the grass isn’t always greener.
Now we’ve got an FA cup final to stop City and get another bit of silverware to salvage the season. I’m sure we’ll all put aside our differences and bring positive energy to the squad and manager before he leaves for good.
Or will he?
Interesting these players returning to fitness for the cup final and the Euros / Copa America coming up.
Hey, if your team has injuries to key players you can't possibly hope to finish higher than 6th place. Just ask Real Madrid how they're doing after missing Courtois, Militao, Alaba (examples) for most of the season. We just finished in 8th place, with a negative goal difference, finished bottom of our CL group, lost a record number of games in a single season and yet…you still have some fans defending it.
You’re all fecking bonkers
No wonder this club has gone to shit.
I can't get past his horrible transfer signings. Surely that seeps into his judgement of player performances in training and so on.

Reasoned debate and respect has been thrown out the window thanks to posts like this:
By the way - I'm fine for being in the minority and I'm willing to accept sacking him is rational. But at the same time, I can't have empathy or reason for the circumstance that he's in, otherwise you get posts like the above just going over the top.
That is the fear, unfortunately. The next new manager will most probably, like LVG, have no European football next season, so I wouldn't be surprised at all if we got top 4, even with a dour manager like Southgate (and please, don't pick Southgate!). It's how we build from there that's always the big problem that's never been cracked. Recruitment and player standards have to be absolutely spot on, as well as the manager. He will only become a part of the boombust cycle.
July: New manager
August-December: Wow we are actually good. Turns out the players were not the problem
January to end of season: Decent season overall with some inconsistencies. Onwards and upwards!
Preseason 2025: We look gassed

<insert random player fallout>

<insert rumblings of players not impressed with training>
End of 2025/26 season: Finish 6th-8th
July 2026: New manager
