I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would want another season of this shite

when you look at the way we set up, why didn''t he do this more during the season
None of this end to end stuff we've been seeing (one of the reasons, imo, why we've had bad injury crisis)

More have dropped less points

No real problem with his decisions in this game. It's one of the few games where injuries actually are a fair excuse, as it was an individual mistake by a player out of position that lost us the match rather than a systematic failure like it normally is.

We played much more compact than we have in the vast majority of games this season, not leaving all the space in the midfield that we normally do. As such our defence had much more protection than it normally does, and unsurprisingly that resulted in them not being overloaded all game. He played Amad, who did well enough in the first 50 minutes or so that hopefully we'll continue seeing him for the rest of the season (if the injury doesn't keep him out). I'm tempted to say that he should have kept Hojlund on with Wheatley for the final few minutes to try to really get at the Arsenal defence, but that's about it.

Of course, the fact he didn't make the mistakes that he's been making all season in this match does beg the question of why he's made those mistakes for the rest of the games.

Might have finally occurred to him that it doesn't work, wishful thinking maybe I know.

More likely he's realised he might be getting the sack soon enough.

Starburst?

Maybe Big ol’ Jim being there got him to shit his pants and change his god awful set up.

I am a bit surprised he did not combust, as I assumed that is the reason why he was not willing to change our tactics for a whole bloody season.

Yeah it can be as I have seen with your insane take on Eth on here the past few weeks.

Also, zero threat on their goal at home is now an “average performance”? Yeah thanks for confirming how our standards have gone in the gutter.
I don’t care what you think of my opinion mate. Get that into your head please.

You are adding to the ridiculousness of this thread very well, nice going.

Progress, we didnt concede record shorts today.

Lost by only 0-1.
If we can keep the scoreline low against Newcastle,Brighton and City i will be happy.

Next season Shaw and Martinez will return, we can start playing football and judge ETH.

On course to finish the season with 1 win in 12 games.

And that was against Sheffield Utd at home where they took the lead twice and it took a screamer from Bruno with 10 minutes to go to finally go in front.

I will celebrate when this guy is finally gone.
Heh
Just 3 more games of humilitation left.

It's almost certainly just because it was against Arsenal. We'll go back to our usual suicidal style against Newcastle and Brighton, then try to be compact again against City in the final.

Or the players continued their insubordination but stumbled on something that works?

The players need to be sacked, not the manager. Bring someone else in an the new cycle starts again. What's the point? About 80 percent of the team are not good enough.

Thing with keeping Ten Hag another season means the inevitable rebuild will have to start even later. He might be decent and maybe next season without all the injuries we perform better, possibly even get top 4, but do we really think he has what it takes to win the league or even compete against Pep and Arteta in 2/3 or ever 4 years? No chance for me

Just so I make it clear “mate”, I don’t give a crap about your posts or opinions. I was simply pointing out how they are proof that the forum is now infested with moronic posts.

Assembled and coached by the guy that is not good enough himself. Whats the point in keeping him?

Probably the best we've looked out of possession all season, but with the ball it was as awful as ever.

Has he not contributed to at least like 50% of that with his signings?

A few weeks ago @VP89 told me we were likely to get more than 19 points from our last 10 games.

Others (the usual crowd) piled in to accuse me of being too negative for predicting otherwise.

Nah, I'd just watched us play all season and knew what I was talking about.

But you referred to previous comments I made mate

I have literally no idea who you are mate.

The cycle starts again if you sack all the players

How do people come out with this stuff again and again

What this guy has done to the club is absolutely criminal.

Yeah because we were a Glazer winning machine before he arrived.

Just because it is an unsolvable problem does not mean it is not the actual problem. The world is full of bad actors who say

1. Something must be done
2. This is something
3. Therefore we must do this

It's known as the politician's syllogism. Sacking ETH is 'doing something'.

It's important that the board don't give too much allowance to the admittedly ridiculous current injury crisis.

We have looked fairly poor whoever has been available this year.

Yeah because we were a Glazer winning machine before he arrived.

There's many people to blame, ETH is one of them. Shite owners or not, being 9th, 82 goals conceded in all competitions, -4 goal difference and with less goals than the likes of Bournemouth is tragic.

Untill one is injured again and then we give him another season after that because we can’t judge him again?

Arteta has him and his team completely figured out by this point. He has learned his lesson well after the first game. Arsenal went naively into that one and got punished. Ever since then, he knows we are completely useless with the ball and the only danger we ever pose is on the break. No need to press high and expose themselves when it's just a matter of time before the ball is given back to them. And that is what they have been doing in the following three games, probably to a fault in regards to the scoreline.

I agree with you , think Arsenal were more than happy to let United have the ball.

Don't really feel that they were in any danger of losing the game barring some freak moment and their nerves around the result (anything but 3 points and City will win the leave vs Spurs) made them play a little more conservatively than Arteta would have liked IMO.

Who knew that setting up more defensive and compact wasnt an utterly chaotic and suicidal way to approach a game?

Just about everyone. Just shows the issue isnt just all the missing players.
