We havent played good Football under him since the League Cup final last season

Even then it wasn’t particularly convincing during the ‘good’ spell. We started horrifically against Brentford and Brighton. Got hammered by City and then had a decent run of form upto the League cup final. However, even during that time we weren’t an attacking team or anything. I remember hoping that things would improve with a lighter schedule because last years was mental.

It's not just how bad he has been, it's that his recruitment has led to a really terrible with low quality or old age or no backup in key positions. There was a much clearer path forward with the squads left behind by Moyes, LvG, Jose, and even Ole/Ralf.
If, hopefully, he's asked to go, I have no idea which parts of the team need recruitment the most. At least 3 players for an entire new spine of CB-CM-ST! Upgrades would be very welcome at GK and RW. And backups for CM, CB, and fullback.

e - one benefit of a caretaker would be seeing which players are shit and which have been destroyed playing in this insane system

That was a good performance under the circumstances. Any other team with those hardships would have lost by 10 or more goals.

INEOS dithering again by not announcing a new 3 years contract for ETH. I think we should start an online petition and then someone should organize an OT march demanding a new contract and to identify a new space for ETH's statue.

Exactly. He has left us in a worse position than when Ole left which in itself is an incredible achievement.

I remember Newcastle putting us under a lot of pressure that game. Bruno and Rashford managed to hurt them on the counter a couple of times. Iirc.
Would say we played well against Barcelona just before that however.

IMO, ETH did more lasting damage. Moyes came in, failed, and left. ETH signed a bunch of expensive duds who we will continue to be burdened with for several years.

I know I’ll be in the minority here but I genuinely think a different manager could get a tune out of Antony and some of the other signings. Glasner has turned Mateta into a goal machine and it’s not uncommon for a new manager to get more out of players.

If Antony was able to work in a functioning system then he has enough ability and workrate to contribute. His problem is mostly decision making and seems like a result of instructions from Ten Hag. Our wide players seem to be working under an instruction to just cut inside and shoot all the time. Whereas if Antony was told to attack his full back, work overlaps with Dalot and cross more then we might see more production. He should be told not to shoot from outside the box at all and mix it up going near and far post. He obviously isn’t being told to do those things though because the manager isn’t barking at him or hauling him off for constantly taking stupid shots.

In fact, if a new manager came in I would back them to do more with a good number of the players provided they stay fit obviously.

Totally agree that a few games under a caretaker would at least be interesting. New manager bounce might confuse it given the lack of games left though. The injuries as well don’t help even if a change is made.

That tonight is in some ways worse than the 7-0 freak result. We deserved to lose this one comfortably, they probably should have scored many more. Totally outclassed for the whole game by a side that traditionally we shouldn't have to worry about. Every game is a struggle for this side.
My sort of a hot take regarding the 7-0 is that it wasn’t really a fluke. Not necessarily the nature of the scoreline, but the deficiencies seen in that game are seen repeatedly.

Crumbling under pressure, giving up chances easily, letting in goals in quick succession. All which we have seen and cost us time and time again.

Even if some of the goals conceded were stupid unlucky, overall not a single person could say we deserved anything out of that game. It’s not like we had any injuries to use as an excuse.

Looking back on it, it was a warning sign of the shitshow to come.

I hope you're right, because realistically, the next manager is going to have to work with what he's got

It’s a similar pattern with both Rashford and Garnacho. I think we are kinder to Garnacho because he’s young and has shown flashes of being very good but he is very wasteful too.

Between Rashford, Garnacho and Antony they have 7 assists all season in the league. That’s players who aren’t looking for a pass.

if the top/best scorer of this game tells you they don't like the way you set up your attack, you listen!.

We have a broken squad now, physically and mentally. The next season will be a Himalaya to climb to recover. Will we have a suitable 11 to start the first game next season?

Couldn’t even go up to the fans and thank them for the amazing support that they did not deserve. Embarrassing

Had to change my vote to get an interim now. Stick with Ten Hag now and we'll lose the last 4 games of this season.

Its that bad now that even Ole would get more out of this team in the next 4 games.

You'd get more out of them!

100%

It does weirdly negligent to just throw away a cup final like it seems we're going to do. I genuinely think we'd have a better hope with Wazza in charge for a game than we do under Ten Hag. If we win it will be a ridiculous against every single odd victory.

Not even next season. I can't fathom another game. What the feck guys, we have a fecking fa cup final against city and we want to just throw it away because you don't want to be mean to Ten Hag? feck that. It's pathetic.

He should have been sacked at least 5 times by now.

But I agree. He doesn't deserve to manage the final. Our performances vs City this season have probably been the worst in the league. No shot we have any chance with ETH in the final.

Never quite got the messianic fanfare he initially got on here. I always thought Ten Hag was a competent manager, not someone that would have United punching above their weight or over achieving but I'm beginning to have my doubts about that now.

It's a long long time since AWB was close to being solid at rb.

Not sure why you're referring to Antony as some sort of golden child considering the amount of times he's been overlooked and subbed, or why you're pretending Amad to be some obvious answer to our problems.

The point is quite simple, every time you stick Dalot on the left back with AWB on the right you get the exact same comments on how it's absolute madness, how they should swap position, ETH is a moron for not seeing it. It's always easy and simple.

But it's not that simple, it's not an obvious flaw in decision making. AWB isn't a close to being a good rb, Dalot is a much better right back, so instead of a half cooked solution where both players are underperforming you hope that the team will benefit from having Dalot, who is overall a better player, in his preferred position, both from an attacking and defensive perspective.

And how many is that by the way?

Sad for the club that we're actually accepting such mediocrity. Jim doesn't have the balls, and it's sad to see.

Guys, it is not Erik FOUR Hag, it is not Erik SEVEN Hag, it is Erik TEN Hag. Are we worried about this?

I can't understand not at least hoping for a new manager bounce to have a chance in the cup final. I know it's still a long shot but feck me. We've all seen effective new manager bounces before. Mad that some people don't even want to try it. Even if it takes us from a 1% chance to a 5% chance it's worth it. We know that it doesn't even really matter who comes in for the last games, often a change just improves morale for a bit. Then in the summer you can get your next full time coach if he's not available yet. I'd be willing to accept Big Sam for the final and try and park the bus.

I am not defending ETH. In my opinion its time for him to go. However its evident that this squad reacts very badly to discipline and doesn't care about Manchester United. If I was Wilcox I'd make a list of all the sudden 'comebacks' heading out of the treatment room towards the last game or two of the season. Those would be among the first to be sold. Since they are so dedicated for their national team then maybe their respective nation should pay their salary.

A game like last night you get men behind the ball, protect the defense and counter attack for a narrow win. What the feck we were doing committing that many players forward, I’ll never know. It’s not about philosophy in such situations, it’s practicality and professional pride.

Ten Hag is hands down the worst United manager in the PL era and one of the worst United managers ever.

Moyes had an impossible task. He took over after the greatest manager of all time and unfortunately, a squad with a less than ideal age profile.

ETH got more time, more money and had far less pressure on him and he still has as looking much worse than Moyes ever did

Up until last night I thought it was right and proper that he was kept on until after the FA Cup final.

Now, I think I'd be pretty elated if the news came in today that he was sacked with immediate effect.

Given the financial outlay, the expectation of being Manchester United, the standard of football played this season, the league standing with two games to play, the upcoming Cup Final twatting - this has to be untenable now.

Not like I want to post on RedCafe again after the way I was treated here but it's funny how out of all our post Ferguson coach, I got banned for being negative about the worst of them all.

Yet here you are.

Bringing your usual sunny disposition back to the Caf. And don't sell yourself short. You slagged off every manager we had.
