The mod bias is why if you write "b@ld fraud" it comes out as Pep Gaurdiola is my idol. Turns out we were right and they were wrong and they can't stop fan opinion on the site turning against him.

Nope, that was by my request, because too many people would use it thinking they're clever when it's just a basic rhyme. The forum has been much, much better with that in place (from before he ever managed a Premier League match).

I am sick to death of hearing the excuse about overhauling the players first, as if the large majority of them have been here for 10 years. Every time this excuse comes out for failing managers and it's basically always drastically different squads. Yes the squad will change over time as it has always done, and of course we need to buy better. INEOS will handle that. First they need to handle getting in a new coach, because this is beyond not working, it's capitulation.

Hopefully he's gone soon. Horrific manager.

I just can't believe there were fans(or still are) who would give him another season.

He's been the worst manager in the league this season considering the squad he has. We get outplayed by almost every team we come up against.

I was happy when we got Ten Hag because I thought he will drill the team, coach them to play modern attacking football. I don't see any of that.

Give me Jose , Ole every day than this fraud

I don't like Mourinho in general. I never did. Before United. But I do respect his body of work.

His run between 2002-2012 was truly elite. His Porto teams, the back to back PL winning Chelsea sides, Treble winning Inter, and 11/12 Real (one of the greatest counter attacking sides of all time) are things that will be remembered forever.

His first 2 seasons at United are the only acceptable 2 year spell out of all the managers post SAF. It's a shame that it became toxic by the end of the 2017/18 season.

I'm very sure most half decent manager worth his salt will at least be able to salvage a draw or even muster a respectable 2-1 defeat. This is beyond ridiculous.

And also, how the hell do the people peddling that expect us to recruit the right players to come and play vile losing football for such a blatant failure of a manager on borrowed time.

It doesn’t work. Managers are always a big draw for players. A player who isn’t joining a club partly for the manager has the wrong motivations from the start.

Any fan who thinks the club can recruit players before manager doesn’t understand football. Same as hiring a manager before finding out who the new sporting director wants.

I have to admire our fans outside of England, fair fecks to them. I've not been home since early January, I stopped waking up in the middle of the night and staying up late months ago now, just watch it in the morning more often than not. This team is literally not worth losing sleep over. Right now its a lost cause of a side drifting further and further.
I’ve watched two United games all season. Don’t watch highlights. See the score, laugh and cop shit from my mates. If we take on any of the proposed favourite mangers, I won’t be watching a game as they’re all shit.

Strange how not too long ago we were playing decent football under him and then look at this season where the wheels have come off, crashed and burned.

I'm sorry but it is a close decision surely on if David Moyes or ETH is the worst of the two?
IMO, ETH did more lasting damage. Moyes came in, failed, and left. ETH signed a bunch of expensive duds who we will continue to be burdened with for several years.

He's worse by a mile. Came in, spent 500m buying his lackeys, pick fights with players, delusional press cons, injury crisis caused by his training and tactics, on pace to lower points than Moyes, minus GD, conceding 20 shots per game, etc and he somehow still has devoted acolytes defending him here. At least the fans were united on seeing Moyes out but this bald feck has some fans ready to die for him for whatever reason I cannot comprehend. The way they defended him with mental gymnastics is truly similar to cult member defending their leader. The only bright point was fluking the mickey mouse cup with the easiest run to the final. Anyone attributing Mainoo and Garna rise to him is delusional. Players as talented as them will rise regardless the manager. Even during the Moyes era we had that Januzaj rise although he amounted into a nothing player.

It's a weird set of beliefs and something deeply ingrained mentally to still back and believe in Ten Hag at this moment in time. He's failed, and failing so miserably.

It really is. Our fan mentality is to consider ourselves superior for backing managers, even statistically the worst manager we’ve had in years. That is more important than wanting your club to be better. Odd one.

Anyway please get rid of him I want to have hope again one day.

The only solace I take from this result, even though I didn't watch the game is that this surely certifies ETH's fate this summer and we get a new manager.

Keep in mind that Moyes got sacked with 4 games to go, so Ten Hag has played one more game:

Moyes (34 games)
* 7th place (far in front of 8th)
* 57 points
* +16 goal difference
* CL quarter finals (crushed his CL group)
* Best player (Van Persie) injured for large parts of the season

Ten Hag (35 games)
* 8th place
* 54 points
* -3 goal difference
* Worst CL campaign ever (last in group)

Ten Hag has obviously had worse luck with injuries and he can still win the FA cup, but I think the numbers speak for themselves. Moyes clearly did better in the PL and way better in Europe.

But that's only looking at this season. When looking at last season as well then it becomes much closer. But there is not much between them.

Moyes had Kroos lined up and had his summer laid out before he was sacked.

I dont think Moyes was that shit really, just him removing the backroom staffed ruined him

I just don't see how people can still back Ten Hag going into next season. You think us crashing and burning like this, looking utterly hopeless, can be magically sorted by this same bloke? This side looks cooked, roasted, burnt to a crisp. It would take an axing of 99% of the squad to make this look fresh again. How are some of you still inspired by this sludge.

If you bring in new owners for the footballing side of things, and they bring in new directors, etc (Berrada and Ashworth being excellent choices)… then they will want, and deserve, to make their own managerial choice for a long term project.

Exactly. It would be baffling to see them stick with Ten Hag from this position. We've seen better performing managers get tossed aside by new owners.

My ribs are sore reading this thread!

People holding up spit the dog as a bastion of wisdom, he’s so bitter we derailed their end of season parade he nearly unzipped at full time.

Sakes

We lost a game, badly. Calibrate your histrionics and outrage against what’s going on in the Ukraine and Gaza.

Some of you need to get a grip!

I've seen some terrible arguments on this thread but this nonsense is easily the worst thing I have ever read on this topic.

Not even next season. I can't fathom another game. What the feck guys, we have a fecking fa cup final against city and we want to just throw it away because you don't want to be mean to Ten Hag? feck that. It's pathetic.

Ten Hag is so stubborn that he keeps playing Anthony who is the worst United player this season. He also doesn't care about putting in a defensive midfielder especially in away games. He should make way for another manager immediately. With him around, I can predict that United will loose all 4 remaining games. Let's bring back Mourinho and he may be able to win the FA cup. He will park the bus and beat City on penalties.

The way he sets us up, I feel like he's still totally not go to grips with the PL, some of the lineups and tactical decisions are just bizarre. I don't know if its stubbornness, ignorance or stupidity.

At this point in time, ETH is worse.

We all knew the sort of manager Moyes was, the expectations were low, only resting on the hope that Fergie saw something that the fan base didnt.

ETH was supposed to be our modern manager, our Pep- Killer. And its not for the lack of support that he has failed. He injured most of the players he brought in along the way or played them marginally.

By far the worst manager we had, just terrible manager and clueless.

The way we built attack was hilarious, just play couple of passes in the back and try to launch the ball beyond defense.

The fact that he plays Antony without giving any chance to Amad shows how clueless this guy is.

I don't see where we get our next point. We will end the season with close to -10 GD.

Anyone still backing him (just for a reason they backed him before and afraid to change their opinion) should take a step back, see the bigger picture. We are breaking every single negative record.

This injury thing that is his excuse -- its probably that he overplayed his key players and caused a knock-on effect on the rest of the squad of more injuries.

Its a miricle that we arent hoovering above the relegation zone.

Honestly, as a fan who has been supporting United pre-Fergie, I really dont ever remembering having a negative goal difference before -- especially this late in the season. Its incredible.

To be fair, it was bloody ages ago at this point and didn't in truth last that long.
I know but there were glimpses and one had hope we finally turned a corner but its the hope that kills you.

There's writing off the rest of a season, and then there's what we're seeing here. We could be pumped in all our remaining games, and it wouldn't be a surprise. Bafflingly some would still back him continue making the same weird jokey filled posts as the team they support look fecking shite.

He's obviously leaving in the summer. Nobody can survive this. The real question is how much of it is his fault and how much will we be doomlooping all over again in November.

It's always shared culpability between the players and him.

The real problem is any new manager will have to hang in there while we overhaul the whole squad. That's a near fecking impossible task especially under the bright lights on United. I don't see that many long rebuilds successful. Klopp did it but of course he is an all time great. Arteta has done it but it was rough going for a couple of years.

At least now the manager (whoever it is) will have support structure around him. Hopefully

And the sad part is, it's not even undeserving. We should have been much worse but lucky with points.

It's happening. With the injuries and now the players giving up, these 3 games are going to be brutal.
