City on the brink for the new triple season (and 2nd in a row), and we are getting battered by CP. Our legacy is destroyed, and that's not all, we are suffering humiliation by humilation.

After seeing what happened in the last final we can't let him manage it.

I would happily take the remaining sycophants on a Game of Thrones-style walk of shame.

Shame!

 This one was genuinely funny.

But I promise you I’m not a sycophant. It would be weird to think I even could be given this is an internet forum.
We havent played attractive football all season, depleted squad or full strength (-Martinez).

Fergie had no problem playing like a lower table side whenever we needed to. Because he has a brain. If you aren't tactically flexible and realistic, you don't belong in the business.
I feel like you’re making progress to be fair. You’re at least acknowledging that we need to accept the position this team is actually in. We’re really not in a great shape and so sometimes I agree it would make sense to take your medicine so to speak.

We were never playing Evans and Casemiro at the back with AWB at LB and not having a defensive error leading to a goal. So I agree we should have tonight perked the bus and just been shit to play against.

But that would get Ten Hag sacked. I’m not sure that this result does.

I am not trying to be an arsehole here so please don’t now all pile on with tags calling me a WUM or whatever other mean names. I just don’t think INEOS will look at that performance from Casemiro in defence and blame Ten Hag to the point of sacking him given what they have already seen.
I hope Casemiro doesn’t come out defending ETH, he’s liable to let another in.
Surely you realize that people are tired of the same 1000 page long "contstructive debate" that you seem to always want to have right after we just watched yet another embarassing performance right?

People having been "debating" you since fecking December while you WUM it up listing every excuse under the sun. No one feels like it's even worth expending the energy these days.
I’m tired of losing, tired of poor results and players playing badly or out of position due to injury. But have you ever seen me go out of my way to be rude or disrespectful to other posters?

If people can’t keep their emotions in check maybe they need to have a little calm down before they decide they want to tag someone they don’t know on an internet forum with an insult.

If it’s not worth the debate why are any of you posting in here? Your views are clearly understood you think Ten Hag should be sacked and don’t want to listen anymore to the reasons why this season may not be entirely his fault.

That’s a completely reasonable position to have reached.
Genuine question what's it like inside Ten Hag's rectum?
See now this is also not very constructive because despite me getting pelters in here I’m still trying to argue in good faith with people.

Im really not sure what you are hoping to achieve here? Do you believe I am inside his rectum? Why do you believe this and how is this topic relevant to this thread?

Again: it's neither a black mark nor a red flag when you actually understand that the INEOS people are not in position yet. Blanc will become interim CEO "at the end of the season". Berrada will take over in July. As will our new DoF hopefully. They will change managers then (at the end of the season), not before, and it makes sense because that is simply the situation at the club after the takeover. Although tonight's horror show might speed up proceedings.

Surely that last sentence is a contradiction? Genuine question, but can you explain why they've not been able to change manager? I'm sure SJR, Blanc, Ashworth, Wilcox are conversing daily. Probably multiple times a day. So why aren't they able to agree to it or put something in place long before now?

7 wins in our last 20 PL Games, a win rate of 35%. Horrific.
Yeah but if you stretch it out over his time here and claim penalty shootout victories as matches won, even though that's literally not how they're recorded, then he's better than Klopp and Arteta so it's all good.

It's actually really dumb considering how Ratcliffe highlighted how important Champions League qualification is to improving our financials and it was clear that Ten Hag wasn't going to achieve that since February. Why not at least try for an interim until the end of the season? Sure they not have succeeded but it's better to try instead of just guaranteeing failure with Ten Hag. Not convinced at all by INEOS so far.

It's plainly ridiculous to expect that to happen. The biggest problem players are Ten Hags' own signings and ones he gave giant contracts to like Rashford.

We're not getting rid of 10-15 players in the summer. It's impossible with their wages.

We have to ditch the failure in charge and slowly evolve the squad with a manager who has a base level of competence.

I don't disagree with some of your points, but do you really believe ETH gave him a giant contract??? That's the Glazer club quality of protecting an "asset" on the balance sheet. Nothing to do with the manager.

I just don’t see a way back for him, how many managers have come to this position and turned it around?

We've been in executive limbo all season (even last season), because of the takeover negotiations and then ownership change machinations. That is why ten Hag basically had a free ride all season despite underperforming woefully all this time. It will end soon, let's not worry.

We're literally in a cup final against one of our biggest rivals.

To not do anything to try and help us for that is negligence

Why do you think Ten Hag should stay, what qualities has he shown so far this season that gives you confidence in him?

Don't get me wrong, we deserved to lose that. Evans and Casemiro were awful, we had no midfield and the only "moments" player we had out there was Garnacho. But no one's talking about how the Palace player went through Dalot from behind on that 3rd goal.
Yup, how was that not given a foul I will never know. Unfortunately we have been the cause of our own demise so frequently and poor calls against us do not matter as we are not really competing for anything, it barely registers.

Have to laugh at the irony of the worst performance of the season coming after Neville's weak as piss interview, Ten Hag choosing this week to shovel out the excuses to the press, and desperately try to gaslight his critics and save face.

I think he's a decent coach. But he's not a leader and he's not to be trusted in the transfer market.

He's been unlucky this season with injuries but things have got so bad he almost certainly has to go now. If he wins the Cup, okay, a reprieve...but it won't happen, so we should be working full-time on replacing him this summer.

Rinse and repeat, you cannot give up the number of attempts against every game and expect better results.

They'll go in time once the new structure have found replacements, in the mean time we need a manager that will play to their collective strengths, but Ten Hag can fecking row back to Holland with Antony in the boat with him in the mean time.

That's the point isn't it, you've just name checked Antony, whereas I can name a fecking tonne more. Any new manager is already being dealt a bad hand if we go into next season with anything close to this squad as it is.

INEOS will always want their own man managing the club. As soon as they took over the football side of the club ETH was a lame duck. He had an opportunity to change their minds of course, but has failed miserably.

The question is why have INEOS allowed him to continue this season? We could've been in with a shout for top 4 if we pulled the trigger. Now we've fecked ourselves with FFP considering we'll not be playing European football next season.

People that have been arguing against this point are doing so through the sort term lense, as though we have only turned to shit in recent weeks and there's just no point doing anything at this stage. But the reality is that he should have been gone many months ago, and without a doubt this season could have been rescued.

We've been saying this all season, Ten Hag would have gotten us relegated without the likes of Bruno bailing him out. However, the season ends in May so I'm not sure why he's saying that like it's only December.

No he means that you can’t use the it’s a short sample excuse because it’s may now

He is if he comes in and plays the exact same way. This team, which played a different system last year, managed to finish 3rd and get to two cup finals. I refuse to believe that was solely on the back of having a fit and available left footed CB. Get a manager in who knows how to get the best out of people and we'll improve ten fold. We won't win the league but we're not this bad in reality.
