I've not watched the post match interview but it'll be the same old same old bollocks.

I would get rid now and get an interim in for the rest of the season. It can't get much worse

There are two different routes here.

Appoint an Interim that knows he's not getting the job long term. Pointless. Nothing really changes. A bit like Lampard at Chelsea last season.

Appoint an Interim with zero idea of what's coming next. Interim does well and gets the job on a permanent basis. Entire cycle repeats itself in 18 months or said Interim spends whole of next season under pressure because he knows he's not really the first choice longer term.

It might be painful for now but keeping Ten Hag (again, unless they've identified a permanent replacement that can start immediately) is the best option until the end of the season.
You can't say that with certainty. Roma kicked mourinho out and then went on a storming run of form. It's clear a change of plan is needed, something ETH REFUSES to do.

But this is now a clear trait under Ten Hag. Throwing games away.

Much like the trait we've seen where we concede one goal against the run of play, completely shit the bed and quickly concede more.

It's not something we saw much of under previous managers. The players are spineless idiots but the same players didn't shit the bed this much under Ole. Which I can only assume is down to coaching routines and repetition about what to do when defending a lead.
Exactly, these are systematic issues that he can and should be blamed for. His defenders like to deflect with the usual excuses like "it's not his fault player X did Y", as if these individual moments are completely uncharacteristic of the way he sets us up to play in the first place!

We weren’t this bad under LVG though and we didn’t have to play City (presuming we get to the final despite conceding 30 shots against Coventry) in a final.

We have more chance under an interim of winning the final because they’ll organise us and pack the midfield, we already know what Ten Hag will do and it will involve us getting battered.
Maybe we get back Mourinho on loan for the final only, if we get there. He’ll help us grind out a 1-0 win. I don’t think this teams coachable to be fair. They do their own thing. You see players all over the place and out of position. I very doubt ETH tells Maguire to join in attack. Yet he went on a mad run up top tonight.

Casual 109 shots conceded in the last 4 games. All part of the process.

I only want to know why do our players lack so much football intelligence. Like they are the absolute dumbest bunch of players I've ever seen. It seems like they don't have a clue about anything they try to do.

Don't get the whole interim thing. That's just going to be useless. He'll stay until the summer.

Absolutely inexcusable, capitulation has become engrained in this teams DNA and its beyond embarassing.

17 losses so far this season is also something that should be unacceptable at this club. Everything just feels all so wrong with zero confidence in things turning around under current management...

There’s no real leaders in that squad, that’s the problem!

Injuries, soft pens, individual errors. I should have some sympathy for him but if you keep going back to that insane midfield structure you don't deserve sympathy.

He just don't know how to close down games . The space they got in the last 4 minutes was criminal. Same thing against Brentford last week.

He just don't know when to shut the shop.

I don't know if it's most, but it's still a sizeable enough amount for it to still be absolutely insane. Our supporters have always been too forgiving of terrible managers but I just don't know how anybody can even attempt to defend him at this point.
I agree with most of what you say. I just don't know if most fans want him gone as Old Trafford is not constantly booing him and the twitter fans aren't calling for his head. Can't rely on the caf as a good representation of fan opinion imo.

Get rid of immediately.

Also it's absolutely unprofessional how every game we are setup tactics wise.

Regardless of everything else, injuries or whatever, teams just keep running through our midfield as if it isn't there. He has not done anything to combat that. Even now where midfielders have comeback from injury, he hasn't changed done anything to stop that. I do not understand why he persists with something so obviously flawed. Play two deep if you need to, just do something to fill that giant void.

But no. Same thing over and over and it has to be intentional.

This is where I'm at too. It's nearly no surprise the defence are falling apart with injuries with how isolated the midfield leave them

Nope, just throw Keane, Rooney or Ole in there for the rest of the season and let whatever to going to happen, happen. We’re busted as it is, we won’t win shit, just let someone else ride the season out and our chances improve drastically.

Can't wait for this thread in a couple of years time for the next manager :boring:
Yes, if the next manager is shit he will also be sacked. As is accepted universally to be the case at every club in football, except ours apparently.

Ratcliffe and Ineos looks like idiot for keeping him around. I would sack him and one of the assistants manager as interim. We don't need to hire anyone permanent until the season ends. Why would you keep ETH? He got a lucky winner against Liverpool and then completely suck in the last 2 games. 9 points behind with 8 games left, this team can't win all the games. I see Liverpool beating us this weekend. I don't see FA Cup victory if City goes to the final. I have been calling this guy to be sack since Nov and he is still hanging around and yet, there are people saying there is no point. Let him finish the season and then we appoint a new manager. Maybe there is something in his contract about compensation if he is sack within 2 years. It really suck to be a United fan and this year is especially bad.

We finished above Liverpool last season and we will finish at least 30 points behind them this season. That in a manger’s second season is absolutely incredible. They will destroy us on Sunday to take another step towards the 20th while we discuss whether this fraud should stay on

Low quality shots was heralded as some sort of genius tactic. That's how ridiculous the defence of ETH became.

So many have said it, this is unsustainable football. It was never going to work, it's chaotic nonsense and will get shown up constantly against anyone half decent
The defence of his football has been ridiculous.

I think someone in this thread earlier said these players aren't mentally fragile.

Manager not long left you'd think now.

He's just a typical Ajax manager really.

Oh look we're the mighty Ajax playing against pub teams half the time, clubs with a tiny fraction of our budget, when we get a lead there's never any danger we lose it.

He should have realised after his team pissed away the CL semi final after leading. His first taste of competitive football.

It’s mostly his squad. We can’t keep blaming the players season after season. Why don’t we admit we’ve fecked up with our management choices since fergie, and had a rotten structure to compound it
This, most of them start for the international teams and perform to a higher level with limited time under those coaches, he'll go down as one of the worst managers we've had

Hes also shown quite clearly he's not very adaptable.

I've been vocal in backing him and put my reasoning on the line - injuries to key personnel. But when he can field two full backs and two center backs, whilst keeping his striker options on the pitch, I'm expecting performances.

He hasn't delivered it, and there's no excuse for it. We're still open, it's still chaos and no win is convincing. It's all really terrible, bit of a nightmare.

Yeah. If they are going to get rid, tell him now that he will be gone at end of season, gives more time to look for a replacement.
They just won't tell him and look for someone on the outside. We may have an FA cup final to look forward to, telling the manager before that isn't going to be the best thing to do.

I don’t think he knows what he wants them to do, or he can’t explain properly. In all our managerial appointments we’ve never had this many errors or randomness, it has to be him. The players haven't collectively decided they’re bat shit

Don't need leaders to know in the 95th minute to run a ball to the corner, or keep possession or not leave players completely unmarked on the edge of the area.
