I want to know the logic behind bringing McTominay, a headless chicken, on for Casemiro when the number one thing we needed at that stage was to control possession as much as we can.

How many times this happened? One time eycuse is "great free kick", one time is unlucky goal, one time is a player's mistake, etc....
How many times he decided to defend with 10 players in penalty box? His late subs are always defenders and bloody McT.
He can bring Eriksen and play to keep the ball and/or push defence up.

It is always same pattern. We take a lead, he makes defensive subs and puts defence in Onana's lap. Every single time.
He should go, but that doesn't mean the players aren't also the problem. Dalot was poor all game and got himself in a position where he gave away a penalty. Not a single player picked up the best player on the pitch - that is on the players.

We have a manager out of his depth and a team of players who are utterly clueless.

Our fanbase has a responsibility to ensure this charlatan doesn't go into next season as United manager if there's even a slither of a chance the ownership have been duped into thinking this isn't his fault. We've been a disgrace this season and the only solace I can take in these disastrous performances and results is that he might not be here next season.
Most of the fanbase aren't even against him.

No way Spurs and Villa feck up from here and no way do we even capitalise on their feck ups. It’s a miracle that Brentford didn’t beat us on the weekend. -1 goal difference after 30 games :wenger:

I can’t see how he’s not done at this point and I was someone who wanted him two years ago. Some of the players can feck off too.

Agree with both parts there but that team has eaten through one too many managers, want to see fire sale before we sack another manager.
Nah it has to be both. No more "fresh starts".

It's the same as throwing parts of your car out when you don't have a mechanic or someone knowledgeable about cars present.

The whole point on overhauling every department is United don't have a fecking clue since SAF retired, it's as simple as that.

Dan Ashworth will work with Omar Berrada, Wilcox to get a clear handle on the club. There'll be a clear blueprint of how to work, and every single part of the club will be scrutinized from the likes of David Brailsford looking over every part of the club.

For now (AND) from a cost perspective you do not sack a manager who will cost 20m+ to get rid of. What problem is that going to solve really? These players have had 2-3 managers now the majority of them and continue to get away with it. Its the entire culture of the club, and thats why you cant just continue to sack managers.

If the footballing side after everyone is in place, including the board decide ETH goes and he does not fit in with the style of play United want to play he will be gone.

For now until the summer when everyone is in place, he will not go anywhere. This isn't a problem that's going to be solved in 3 months, getting a new manager in place and hiring someone new is not going to fix anything. The club needs a massive overhaul and first get the right people in place.

I am not expecting him to be sacked this week but I dont see how you can sacrifice the next season as well if you are the new owner. There is nothing to suggest that he is the guy to take us forward and you don’t have to be a genius to figure that out. If they don’t replace him this summer, they will definitely be doing it at Christmas. There is no chance he is the man for United

Losing in that manner was utter madness from the players.
But conceding 20-30 shots every game and having a seemingly insane system of front boys chase wildly and everyone else hang back leaves us open to even the crappest attacking team.

That was 100% top 5 gone tonight and that's an embarrassing target anyway.

Get considering a new manager now and get it done the second the season is done.

Every chance we'll still have an FA Cup final to come but if it's City there that won't end well.

I'm sorry you can't be arsed to see there's quite a few managers available as interim. Conte would be a good temp manager for instance.
Why on earth would he take on an interim role? Only way he does that is if he’s guaranteed the permanent job.

12th (!) League defeat of a season at fecking Manchester United and some have the balls to continue making excuses for the guy. "Yeah but can you blame him for [insert player] doing this and that" as if a million isolated situations over a season can be made excuses for. If they stick with him after this horror season than they are no better than the Glazers.

Where are we going with him? What's the plan? Because it's not evident on the pitch. Either his plan doesn't work, he doesn't have the personnel for it(his fault), he cannot motivate his players. All damning.

Maybe. Who would you bring in for that though? This feels like LVG last season where if we win the FA cup he still gets sacked
We weren’t this bad under LVG though and we didn’t have to play City (presuming we get to the final despite conceding 30 shots against Coventry) in a final.

We have more chance under an interim of winning the final because they’ll organise us and pack the midfield, we already know what Ten Hag will do and it will involve us getting battered.

He should go, but that doesn't mean the players aren't also the problem. Dalot was poor all game and got himself in a position where he gave away a penalty. Not a single player picked up the best player on the pitch - that is on the players.

We have a manager out of his depth and a team of players who are utterly clueless.
But ETH is the one who continually picks him and even renewed his contract. It's also on ETH to sub underperforming players, which he failed to do with Dalot.

Wow, what a revolutionary strategic instruction to give
What did he think the players would do otherwise - play pass and move with someone in blue?

 it's genius damn it!

Regardless of everything else, injuries or whatever, teams just keep running through our midfield as if it isn't there. He has not done anything to combat that. Even now where midfielders have comeback from injury, he hasn't changed done anything to stop that. I do not understand why he persists with something so obviously flawed. Play two deep if you need to, just do something to fill that giant void.

But no. Same thing over and over and it has to be intentional.

Just read that we’ve conceded over 200 shots in 10 games. That’s atrocious

I'm sorry you can't be arsed to see there's quite a few managers available as interim. Conte would be a good temp manager for instance.
Would be astoundingly dumb to get an interim coach. If we make moves just take the time needed to understand the market and get the right profile in.

Yeh, I mean I have no doubt EtH needs to go, but nothing changes until 95% of these players are out. So I ain't wasting my energy calling EtH anymore until I see a ruthless summer, I just don't want to see these players anymore.
It’s mostly his squad. We can’t keep blaming the players season after season. Why don’t we admit we’ve fecked up with our management choices since fergie, and had a rotten structure to compound it

INEOS will wait till after the FA Cup final and will then relieve Erik of his duties whatever the outcome of that game. The same ending as LVG. He has clearly lost any semblance of control he maybe once had and it’s out and out chaos every game now. And a minus 1 GD in April. We’re in the latter weeks of ETH now.

I genuinely said on 85 mins that I would not be surprised if Chelsea win 4-3. It's predictable with the changes that are made during the match. Needless changes like Garnacho off to remove our counter threat, and Mctominay in. He has no discipline like why is he driving forwards late on instead of holding position? Has he been instructed or not?

He'll come out after the game and say we were unlucky but we aren't, we're consistently shambolic and these are the results.

To be clear I'm not the one actually claiming we need Martinez to play any sort of decent football someone else said that. But still if that theory were true we could have easily kept Fred, left Mount for a year or kept DeGea for a year and left Onana. Then signed a centre back if it was so important to Ten Hags system.
Ten hag signed a big money CB. But he signed one that is permanently injured. So Maguire, who is fit every single week year on year, plays. God sounds like we need to get rid of that Maguire fella.

Just back from the game. Whole second half Chelsea were there for the taking. Stadium was on the turn too. Not good enough to just press on and kill them off

Well he would suit playing for us in his current form too :)

We are absolutely hopeless right now. Everything is vertical, zero control of any game, getting overrun in midfield by any crap side.

When you concede 30+ shots a game, you don’t get to complain when you lose that. But I bet Eth will do just that. Blame everyone else but his own shite coaching and criminally awful set up.

You are right but I'm torn after this game. I do think that we were unlucky(Dalot's penalty) but at the same time I know that we were bad and I also think that Chelsea were somehow worse. So I'm not surprised by the defeat but also think that we could have easily won.

Because the season is over as of today. We won’t get CL and we won’t win the FA cup, there’s at least a chance we win the FA cup if we bring someone else in so take the risk with an interim.

There are two different routes here.

Appoint an Interim that knows he's not getting the job long term. Pointless. Nothing really changes. A bit like Lampard at Chelsea last season.

Appoint an Interim with zero idea of what's coming next. Interim does well and gets the job on a permanent basis. Entire cycle repeats itself in 18 months or said Interim spends whole of next season under pressure because he knows he's not really the first choice longer term.

It might be painful for now but keeping Ten Hag (again, unless they've identified a permanent replacement that can start immediately) is the best option until the end of the season.

I was expecting a title charge before the season began. The most damning fact is that we can't even make Champions League football when even 5th place is enough.

Just can’t see a way forward with him. We (likely) have an even lower bar of top 5 this season and we’re 9 points off with 8 games remaining and Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle still to play.

Likely going to increase at the weekend. Really hoping to see an interim brought in soon (assuming the manager we want isn't prepared to join mid-season)

I would think it better to wait until end of season but.... he's definitely done here isn't he?

I usually think most managers are good but just not good enough for the big time, but ETH might just be the first manager who I think is genuinely shit
He’s not shit but he’s close to shit, he’s tactically inept and really does need to be sacked tonight! I’m sure we can get Hansi Flick or Lopetagi to manage the last 9-10 games of the season.

He really does need to be sacked tonight and for the first time I think he might be sacked after the Liverpool game, if he suffers anotherbig loss has to be sacked.

That will be 18 losses for the season, therefore he needs to go!

Worst case there needs to be some internal discussions once everyone is on 'gardening leave' but ready to join, but first the people need to be in place.

The way we are playing and defender are dropping like flies, not sure we will get to the cup final.

Genuinely think he's going nowhere for now regardless. I think we'll give him next season and when that's a bust, he'll finally be out.

Low quality shots was heralded as some sort of genius tactic. That's how ridiculous the defence of ETH became.

So many have said it, this is unsustainable football. It was never going to work, it's chaotic nonsense and will get shown up constantly against anyone half decent

Most of the fanbase aren't even against him.
I don't know if it's most, but it's still a sizeable enough amount for it to still be absolutely insane. Our supporters have always been too forgiving of terrible managers but I just don't know how anybody can even attempt to defend him at this point.
