Either he or Luis Enrique for me
The aura Zidane would bring to commence our next chapter would be beautiful. What a face for the new era. Zidane’s Manchester United. Yes sir
Rubbish source of course but let’s see what happens over the coming months
We will be making a big mistake if we sack him this season for a short term solution. Yes, we've had a blip and could finish outside of top 5 but we are heading in a decent long term direction, finally. From the squad he inherited to now, there is a bucket load of difference and the culture is vastly different. Arteta finished 8th, 8th and 5th in his first three seasons just for reminder.
I get the Arteta reasoning but Arsenal’s improvement is one of the most bemusing I’ve ever seen. For every case like his there are 500 that don’t click and suddenly start moving up the gears. I’ve mostly been supportive of ETH but he also needs to show that he can get us to play a cohesive style of football before we put more faith in him. Hate to say it but Ineos should be on the lookout now and unless we see a proper ETH team worth believing in start to appear before the end of the season, he should be replaced. We will be making a big mistake if we sack him this season for a short term solution. Neither deserve to be backed. We need wholesale changes all over.I dont want the players to win. Keep him, sell the trash overpaid players.
Probably, something has been agreed between them
Think maybe they need to give him an ultimatum
I wonder how people convince themselves that we are headed in the right direction. We are the worst we’ve been since Fergie left and in terms of squad we have two additions since he came that you can be confident are going to be a part of our squad going forward in Martinez and Hojlund (I would hardly call it a bucket load of difference, if anything the improvement is very marginal for the amount of money spent on his players). We will be making a big mistake if we sack him this season for a short term solution. He's bringing it on himself by gaslighting everyone. He's been getting justified criticism and now he's lashing out at people so they're naturally going to ask more difficult questions.I want him gone as much as anyone but its a little hard to watch how the press are turning on him. They are relentless like vultures and other managers would have lost their cool with them.
Shit, now we're aspiring to have a manager like Arteta who's won nothing but an FA cup in 5 years and regularly bottles under any run in pressure. We will be making a big mistake if we sack him this season for a short term solution. Exactly. If we could see progress on the pitch I’m sure people will give him more time. But we’ve been shit since since last season and have not improved whatsoever. First we all thought it was the injuries but now that players have been back we are still shit! I mean how can your team get dominated in possession by Luton ffs. Our games are literally ping pong games.I wonder how people convince themselves that we are headed in the right direction. Arteta is the only man we can resort to if we are trying to delude ourselves into thinking keeping a manager long term will bring results. I personally think Arteta had a few mitigating factors which helped him keep his job: his age (he was just 37 when he joined) meant it was natural for him to have some learning curve and Arsenal had not finished in top 4 for the previous 3 seasons. It’s very rare for top clubs to keep underachieving managers and see them succeed.I get the Arteta reasoning but Arsenal’s improvement is one of the most bemusing I’ve ever seen. As we demand standards from players, so we should from the manager.
To be fair he also had a structure behind him doing a good job rather than just manager decides. But yeah, I’m very wary of using anomalies as a yardstick as to what we should do. For other successful managers there’s usually a clear trajectory - at least after one year. And that’s what we should follow really.Arteta is the only man we can resort to if we are trying to delude ourselves into thinking keeping a manager long term will bring results. Our team was shite too.Arteta is not a good comparison. Those Arsenal teams were not good. And they intentionally were doing a rebuild.
Still considerably more competitive. That team finished 6th the season before ETH but 2nd and 3rd the two seasons prior (with largely same squad plus injured Pogba). Arsenal were out of top 4 the three seasons prior to Arteta joining. Our team was shite too.
It was a poor squad. There were probably double digit squad players which had left in that period before Ten Hag came. Also, Arteta may not have had a great squad either but certainly better than to finish 8th back to back.Still considerably more competitive. Even Mitten, who was a Ten Hag supporter, is now reporting his job is very much under review.
"win"? Are you implying that they don't want to be successful and would rather lose every game and take home a payslip instead? In your opinion are they actively trying to stop good managers from guiding them to winning trophies?I dont want the players to win. Keep him, sell the trash overpaid players.

Almost none of which suit a progressive style of play, bar Shaw, Bruno and Rashford. Interestingly Shaw has been MIA this entire season so probably not fair to count him as part of an available player right now. Unless you think Ten Hag getting 3rd and a cup last year was bad too.Not really. From 2020-21 squad that finished 2nd we lost Pogba (started 21 games that season), Cavani (13), Matic (12), Mata (6) and James (11). Hardly double digits and mostly players that started less than a third of our games. All the players that started 25+ games in 2020-21, so the core of the team, were still there: De Gea, Shaw, Lindelof, Maguire, Wan Bissaka, McTominay, Fred, Bruno and Rashford.

They suit an attacking style at least and have proven quality in the attacking third, as inconsistent as it may be.Bruno and Rashford do not suit progressive football at all.
Bruno is allergic to the ball and keeps kicking it forward. Rashford is kick and run footballer.
Both player's time here is overdue if we aspire to compete for the title.
Bruno is nowhere near KDB quality no matter what stats say. Rashford is a liability, when he doesn't get his goal he is mostly useless to the team - toxic attitude, laziness, hopeless 1vs1.

Alright, whatever I really don't care. It's besides the point I made. They don't. I'd argue they are actually one of our players least compatible with attacking football. They are only really useful for counter attacking football. Sit deep and wait for a break. That's where Bruno excels and Rashford too. I wouldn't call that attacking football though.
Which quotes are you referring to? I think only quotes where he can be accused of gaslighting is the post match PC where he said we are on a good trajectory & could have won the game and the quotes regarding Mainoo, Garnacho. He's bringing it on himself by gaslighting everyone. He's been getting justified criticism and now he's lashing out at people so they're naturally going to ask more difficult questions.
They've been at that all season. Talk of the Devils had Mitten and Anka going at him early doors, which they never really did under Ole. This is why I don't listen to it much, they let their own bias get in the way of objective discussions. That embargoed section of the presser really shows them going for Ten Hag in a way I've not seen them come for another manager, odd the absolute hate he seems to get in the press
Yeah it's clear you haven't watched his pressers.Guy has gotten a relatively easy ride by the press. This “the press hates him” narrative is what’s odd.
