There's no way you could honestly think these are not his signings.

Most sources even have it that the clubs scouts were advising against his signings but overruled
You misunderstand me. I do think they are his signings in the sense that he identified and pushed for them.

However, I don't think any manager of Manchester United should have that much input on signings. It's up to the people above EtH to decide on transfers and put their foot down when required. You cannot be allowing your manager to overule entire departments of the club.

For that reason I personally don't put any blame or praise on ETH for recruitment.

I wonder how long we have to pretend that he is a top coach before we are allowed to say that he isn’t.

A disasterclass of a start to a season, and it’s the second time he has done it in two years.

Incredible achievement for the plucky underdogs with a team bought for hundreds of millions to look competitive
Oh nice and which of his players were fully fit? And how do they fare vs Bayern? You're acting like a manager can't spend that much to compete vs Bayern. Of course they need to.

The only people who will think we were competitive today are those who didn't watch the game.
The difference was an Onana howler and a dubious penalty. Peddle your narrative elsewhere kid.

And we've somehow started this season worse.

Maddening honestly.

Please link them

Only one I saw was Amrabat. "Apparently".

I will hold you to it...

At some point if I'm going to keep supporting him he has to make adjustments. Just playing the same system, trying to press high with players that can't do it, and sticking with a midfield 3 of Bruno/Eriksen/Case is a recipe for disaster. He needs to show that he's actually a class manager and adapt to what he has currently, or at least try to.

I won't go into his signings so far as that's a whole other issue, but Mount and Varane returning won't magically make this system work (unless he's going to try benching the entire midfield that played tonight).

I can't believe Mejbri didn't play today.

Feels like our managers since SAF have broken atleast one record within their reign. Pity it's normally been an embarrassing one

Things will kick off from here hopefully.

Again - players seem unfit and tired. Our fitness and recovery teams are garbage.

He wanted Kim, didn't get. Kane was top choice CF, didn't get. Wanted a right back, didn't get. Wanted FdJ, didn't get. Wanted Tobido to replace Maguire, didn't get. Wanted Cucurella over Regulon, didn't get.

Can we stop pretending that Ten Hag has the club bent over with submissions on his every whim?

His die hard fans won't stop defending him as it will mean they were wrong and their pride can't allow it. It's the story of every manager post Ferguson. His cult just can't accept the fact they are wrong.

I hope one day we get a manager without a following cult but this looks hard. Even if he doesn't have one, our fans will group and form a cult for him anyway.

If only managerial pedigree was based on the whole season rather than just how a club starts the first few games.

Christ what a car crash of a post.

If you're a big club, you just don't accept conceding 7 vs Liverpool, 6 vs City, the dreadful away record, poor signings and losing 4 out of 6 matches.

I genuinely don't know, he's clearly not up to it but I'm not sure anyone can do a good job here, so could pray for a miracle and he turns it around. Until the Glazers leave, we're in the deep.

It’s the fact you are not even allowed to say it, despite an ever increasing body of evidence. If you do, you are a spoilt fifa brat who doesn’t understand the game!

This should be, in no way, shape or form, an acceptable start to a season for a club like United, but apparently time is always the answer.

We still have brutal fitness, still drop off after 20 minutes, his signings still look dubious at best and he is still playing Eriksen in midfield, STILL!

I am sorry, but there is no way he can have my confidence and it should be ok to say it.

You can say it, others just have the right to laugh. Hes playing Eriksen because the two or three midfielders ahead of him are injured and Hannibal evidently isn't ready.

 “Car crash”

You are not any more mature mate just because you choose to believe, despite ever increasing evidence to the contrary.

The car crash are the fans who don’t hold the club to a greater standard and let us lurch forward with no direction and the wrong people in key positions.

All summer to prepare and not one good performance in the first 6 games. It’s genuinely shocking.

I can't believe Mejbri didn't play today.

I think this shows the mistake was not selling McTominay for whatever West Ham offered (30M or so) and buying a replacement. Ten Hag doesn't trust McTominay to start in these games, which sure I get it I wouldn't either, but then why not sell him and buy a midfielder he actually rates.

How many injuries are needed before it’s acceptable to lose away against Arsenal in the 96th minute and Bayern away after a dodgy pen is awarded?
Is dodgy pen the narrative now? We were never in the game tonight.

I choose to evaluate the manager over the basis of a whole season and not just how he starts. That tends to be how rational evaluation takes place.

If you want to be a knee jerk moaner go ahead, wel laugh at it all the same.

The only people laughing are the rest of the footballing world at our once great club. Standards are in the toilet, but enjoy your laugh anyway.

You must be 12, or you struggle with actually following the developments of the team under him and the early season struggles hes faced out his control. Either way, you probably need to go to bed mate.

Were you one of the ones skillfully evaluating Ole and telling us that you could see what he was building?

I was laughing at you then, so I suppose it’s only fair you get your laughs in early this time.

Most shocking decision of the day.
After Brighton game he is giving minutes to McT instead to Mejbri. Why? Not saying that Mejbri is something special all of sudden but kid had a decent game 4 days ago while McT was utter shit.
Oh grow up.

Hannibal has hardly played. People say this all the time and it's quite annoying. Saying the same about Pellistri, drop Antony play Pellistri etc. These kids are not as good as you think. They have potential yes, but to expect them to come on against Bayern Fecking Munchen and change the game is a step too far.

Pellistri was shite today and he's not ready. The sooner we get Antony back the better, may have to try Mount there until he's back.

Its been a calamitous start, but I'd like to see how we play once all the injuries are resolved.
This. To be fair to ETH he hasn’t ever had his best 11 available due to injuries. He’s had a lot of stuff going on in the background such as the Greenwood/Antony situations and the sancho situation. He’s previously had the Ronaldo one to deal with so it hasn’t been plain sailing for him.

Really? Did you miss the first 20 odd minutes before Onanas mistake?
And? We hardly threatened them.
We were the better team until the pen and and had just made it 2-1. Not sure how that equates to “never in the game” but sure - do whatever narrative you want to push the agenda.
We really weren't. Our ability to score when under no pressure due to being down by two goals doesn't change that.

No, I actually never wanted him as caretaker let alone permanent. Of course there was a period where I backed him for his results before stating it wasn't sustainable (XG diff tends to be a leading indicator).

You can make up shit all you want if it helps though.

Arguments of someone with very little to say! “You must be 12” ranks right up there on the ignorance scale. There are a big list of doubts and worries about how he is building/managing a squad with serious issues, many of which are his own making.

“U must B 12” doesn’t defend him as well as you think it might.
